His grip tightened on my wrist, and without a word, I followed.

Not because I wanted to.

Because his touch felt like a chain to something inside me I wasn’t ready to sever.

We stepped out into the quiet hall, footsteps echoing against the marble floor. The tension between us—thick, raw, buzzing with restrained fury—crackled in the silence like lightning before a storm.

And then, without warning, Dylan threw me over his shoulder.

“What the hell, Dylan! Put me down!” I screamed, pounding my fists against his back. My voice ricocheted down the corridor, but he didn’t flinch. Not even a pause.

“Dylan, I swear—!”

He smacked my ass.

I gasped.

The sting burned through the thin fabric of my dress, and so did the heat pooling low in my belly. Bastard.

I barely caught sight of where he was taking me—spiraling stairs, cold stone walls, shadowed hallways laced with distant murmurs and flickering sconces—until we reached a tall wooden door.

He kicked it open, stalked in like a storm, and finally

Dylan’s POVWe ran for what felt like hours, the forest blurring past in streaks of green and shadow as our wolves moved in sync. Kara’s brown Wolf shimmered beneath the moonlight, fast and wild, her energy reckless and free. I couldn’t stop glancing at her. The way she moved—it was like watching a part of me I never knew I’d lost. Our paws hit the ground in perfect rhythm, hearts syncing through the bond we now shared. She howled once, and I howled back, and fuck if that didn’t echo right through my chest. But eventually, her pace faltered. She slowed, then stopped completely, her chest rising and falling as she shifted back into her human form—naked, trembling, and visibly spent. Her body sagged into mine, exhausted. “First time running that long?” I asked softly, brushing her hair back. She nodded faintly. “I didn’t

---The heavy downpour flooded the streets, creating unbearable traffic. I drummed my fingers on the steering wheel, glancing at my watch—8:15 p.m. Great. I was late. My phone beeped again, vibrating on the passenger seat. I didn’t need to check to know who it was. *"You better not be late for my party, Kara. And please wear the dress I got for you. I love you. See you soon. Your best friend, Kelly."* I rolled my eyes. Kelly could be so dramatic. The streetlights cast a dull glow over the wet roads as I drove, but my mind wasn’t on the traffic or the rain. It was on the case Zach had handed me this morning. Another hiker found dead—third one this month. Same bite marks, same mountain area. The department was being careful, but everyone had the same suspect in mind: werewolves. The thought lingered until I reached home. A quick shower, a struggle against my mattress calling me to bed, and then I was forcing myself into the dress Kelly had picked out. It clung to me in all t

KARA The night was young, but I had work to do. I arrived home earlier than usual, knowing I needed time to prepare for my mission. Every part of this job thrilled me—the chase, the puzzle, the satisfaction of solving a case no one else could crack. Being an agent for a secret agency wasn’t just a job; it was a dream I had chased since childhood. Thanks to my hardwork, I had climbed the ranks, earning a place in one of the highest-level agencies—uncovering bitter truths, bringing justice, and making sure the guilty paid. I slipped into my usual gear—black leather pants, a tank top, my signature black jacket, and my boots. This mission was a solo one. No backup. No team. Just me. Not that I needed anyone. I was one of the best in the business. If there was a case too complicated to solve, it was handed to me. Sliding into my car, I checked my phone. Zach had already sent me the location, making things easier. **"Sir, I just arrived at the location you sent,"** I texted hi

The grunts of a man, coupled with the sounds of clapping flesh, filled the once-quiet room. I had blacked out for only a few minutes but regained consciousness again. The weight of this strange man pinned me down, stealing my voice as the torture continued. Seconds turned to minutes. I lost track of time."Please stop..." I managed to whisper, my legs numb from being overstretched for so long. Yet, my begging only seemed to spur him on as he increased his pace, pounding and thrusting harder into me. His strong hands pinned my arms above my head as tears streamed down my cheeks. After what felt like a lifetime, he finally slowed, his assault coming to an end. My body felt drained, the drugs still coursing through me. When he moved off me, I was left trembling, fragile, barely holding onto consciousness.I watched as he staggered off the bed, my vision blurred, but I could still make out his silhouette. He tried to stand, failing a few times before finally finding his footing."W

  • BITTEN   Why Kara Nox is feared

Kara’s povThe tension in the hall was already sharp, like the air just before a thunderstorm. You could feel it crackling between bodies, across gazes. Theon stood facing Dylan, his voice slicing right through the quiet like a knife.“I still stand by what I said,” he announced, calm but cocky. His voice echoed through the wide hall as he took a slow step forward. “If anyone’s going to fight, it should be Kara. Not Dylan.”My fingers curled against the cool velvet of my seat. A tightness gripped my chest, but I said nothing. Not yet.Dylan was on his feet before the room could even react, a growl rumbling low from his chest, deep and dangerous. Every part of him screamed *threat*. He was barely holding it together, jaw clenched so hard I thought his teeth might crack. But Theon didn’t flinch. Not even when Dylan’s aura rolled through the room like a stormcloud ready to burst. Then Nia stood beside her mate. Of course she did.She smoothed a hand down her dress, her chin tilted high a

  • BITTEN   Fight Till Death

DYLAN’S POVThe entire ride, I felt her curiosity. It wasn’t just a flicker—it stormed through the mate bond like a hurricane slamming into my chest. One of the twisted gifts of the bite—your mate’s emotions become yours. There’s no filter, no distance. And Kara? She was a whirlwind.Anxiety, hesitation, confusion. They rolled off her in violent waves, choking the air inside the car. I reached for her hand, silently grounding her. When the pack house finally came into view—tall, grey, and looming like a fortress against the cold skies—she turned to me, voice soft and unsure. “Dylan…”I met her gaze briefly, my hand tightening around the steering wheel before I spoke. “Relax, babe. You have to face them one way or another.”My tone was calm, collected—but the wild flicker of fear in her eyes told me my words had done nothing to soothe her. Her lip trembled slightly, and she looked away.“I don’t think I’m ready yet…” she whispered. Her voice cracked, and that was it. My wolf stirre

Kara’s POVFor a fleeting moment, I imagined it was all a dream. A sweet, sinful fantasy spun from my deepest desires. But then his fingers drew lazy circles across my skin, waking every nerve ending alive with want. His breath fanned over my shoulder, hot and possessive. And the ache between my thighs—the sweet, sore throb—was proof of what we now shared.“Good morning, baby,” his voice rumbled low, like warm velvet in the quiet room.My lips curled into a soft smile as I turned to face him, heart fluttering. His eyes were gentle this morning, glowing with something softer than lust.“How do you feel?”“I feel... different.” I snuggled closer into his warmth, breathing him in.He pressed a kiss to my hair, tugging me into his chest like he never wanted to let go. I didn't mind. I wanted to drown in him.“Last night,” he whispered, “was the best I’ve had in years.” His chuckle was deep, raw, unfiltered. My heart skipped, knowing he meant it.
