Chapter 5

( Eva’s POV )

“How is Daniel doing? Is he ok?” I said and his back stiffened. He turned around and looked right in my eyes and there was one emotion that I hate the most... pity!

That pity in his eyes showed that he just remembered what and where he is. And by looking at him I can say he is more than ok, he is happy. He sighed and looked at away.

“It’s ok... I understand.” I said softly and he nodded. He has got his mate... has he marked her already? Has he even asked about me? He said it has been three days since my birthday. My birthday... my eighteenth birthday... I saw the love of my life kissing some one else... I got kidnapped by my own mate and then he chained me and ripped my neck open and marked me forcefully. How can anyone be so unfortunate to get this as eighteenth birthday?

“I have seen you both fall in love in front of me Eva. I have seen how he has even dared to stand up against me to protect you, I have seen how you have always cared about him... but some stories are better left incomplete Eva. He is not a bad person but he can't be with you any more. He has a mate... He will never betray her. We wolves care about our mate to a crazy extent.” He said and I smiled.

“And we witches care only about true love. And be rest assured Alpha king even though I might stay here for some days and give him a chance but I will only choose the man I fall truly in love with. I don't care who has a mate bond with me and who hasn’t. I will choose my own mate and he will only have one thing that will connect him with me.... True love!” I said and he smiled.

“And I won't even expect anything less than that from you...” he said and left. As he closed the door I closed my eyes as tears escaped my eyes. Where am I? Why am I here? I was so happy... why couldn’t Daniel become my mate. Moon goddess, I know I am no special woman but still all I wanted was a normal man to love me  as who am I and I found him as well but now you don't think I should be with him... why? What have I ever done wrong with any one? Has he marked her already? Rose... that is that girl’s name. I so wanted to dislike her or curse her but I can't. She looked like a good girl.

With all this thoughts I don't know when I fall asleep. It was almost mid night when I woke up again. I looked at the room there was a small window and I looked at the moon out side. I have to pray. But my heart was telling me not to bow down to a goddess who took every thing from me. If sis would have been here... she would have scolded me a lot. I can't do that.

I stood up and raised my hands to my self and my dress changed with my white pure prayer gown. I sat on the floor in front of moon on my knees and then I bed down forward with my head touching the floor and my hands spread forward with my palms facing upwards. I closed my eyes and offered my prayers. I felt peace after that. I changed my gown again and went to seat at the bed. I took my medications. It was weird that as much as I felt peace... I am feeling restless. I don't know why but I am feeling like some thing bad is happening. What is wrong with me? Why this much bad feelings after the prayers as well.

I don't know why but I stood up and went to the door of the room and my simple royal blue gown was slightly shining in the moon light which was covering the hallways. I don't know where my feet are taking me but I was not stopping. I guess my inner witch was guiding me to the place. I took a turn and then a door which has few steps in the basement. I guess I am at the basement.

As I entered the basement there were guards standing but I was not stopping and I kept walking and I was hoping that they will stop me or even ask me who I am but they didn’t. I kept walking and went at the end of this barely lit dungeon. As I reached at the particular cell my feet stopped on it’s on.

There was a man inside... A werewolf... I can feel it but I don't know who it is... I can't see any thing... it is too dark. I closed my eyes and opened and snapped my hand and produce a light ball and pushed it inside the cell and it started to float in the air and stooped right at the man. It was a man who was tied with heavy shackles. He was on his knees and his hands were tied on the both sides of the wall. He was looking down as I can't see his face. He was not wearing any shirt... just pants. His body was glistening with sweat and blood.

As the ball passed around him I can see his back is filled with blood... looks like whip marks and his hands where the shackles were placed also bleeding and then I realised they are silver which is really harmful for wolves. I don't know how some one can do this to any one. This is pure cruelty. I looked at the guard standing beside the cell and glared at him.

I placed my hand on the lock and it broke with my powers and blasted. I threw that at side and went to the man who was cruelly tied up and whipped and tortured. I don't know who this man is but my inner witch is concerned about this half naked man. God... his body is amazing... pure muscle.

I slowly placed my hand on his chin and pulled his head slightly up and I got shocked. I instantly put the head down as my hand was filled with sparks.... Kane!!

“GUARD” I shouted in fury and the guard outside came rushing to me. I am still confused why they didn’t stop me from entering or breaking the lock as well. They don't even know me but I can think about that later... right now I have to make sure this man here who happens to be my mate doesn’t die from silver.

“Why is your Alpha here? That too in this condition?” I asked and he was shaking at my anger.

“Sorry Luna... It was Alpha’s orders only. He him self told us to do this with him.” He said and I was shocked.

“what the hell? Why would he tell you to harm his own body... why are you lying to me? give me name clearly... who dared to do this with him?” I asked and he nodded in a no profusely.

“No Luna... it was his orders only... we are not lying.” He said and I glared.

“why would he... wait... why are you calling me Luna? Do you know who I am?” I asked as I noticed he was calling me Luna.

“yes Luna, the whole pack knows. The moment you entered the borders with Alpha Kane... he has sent your face through mind like to every one telling that you are our Luna and his mate and every one has to obey your every command...” that is so weird. He kidnapped me and even told his whole pack on that day only that I will be his mate...how dare he?

“Enough. Get him out of these and take him to his room.” I said and he instantly nodded and called some others as well. They all knew who I was but none of them even dared to look at my side, not even for a second. Like they are purposely avoiding looking at me. Has he told them to not look at my side as well?

They removed the shackles and blood started to get out from his wrist. Then they pulled him to stand up but the slashes on his back opened and blood started to flow again. God, he they are being so rough with him.

“Wait... “ I told them and they stopped.

I closed my eyes and raised my both hands and made a small bed of his size which was soft and comfortable.

“Make him sleep on it on his stomach.” They did what I have asked them to do. Slowly they put his body over my bed and I raised my hands and it was raised in air and I motioned to them to stand at the four ends and they grabbed it and with my magic I started guiding it. Soon we were out of the prison and went to the pack hose rooms and went to a room. It was nothing fancy... just normal room with king sized bed. Looks like some one was not using his powers as Alpha to get the best room. I again used my magic and made him sleep on his own bed and pulled quilt till his half body.

“Get the pack doctor.” you all can leave now. I was about to dismiss them when a man slammed the door open and came directly to Kane.

He was looking really worried. He was around six feet but still no match for Kane with well built body and blond hair and a nice looking face.

“Get me the wet towel.” He barked an order and all ran to get it done. I looked at him as he picked the towel and slowly started to clean Kane’s back and Kane winced. Suddenly Kane’s eyes fluttered open and he looked right at me. His eyes were light green. The eyes that are familiar. It’s him and not his wolf. He kept staring at me and I at him. Then he turned on his back and sat on the bed completely disregarding that he is bleeding.

“Alpha... are you ok? Should I call the pack doctor?” that blond man who was looking as of the age of Kane. He is looking worried... like really worried.

“No. I will heal... soon.” He said and that man nodded and looked away and his eyes landed on me and I realised that he noticed me just now and he was looking confused for a second and then his eyes widened in recognition. Great! He has also got my face ID.

“Beta Rehan...” Kane glared at him in a warning but his eyes didn’t changed. It’s his human side only. I guess till the time he has silver in his... he won't come out. It means this man is his Beta.

“Tell the whole pack to gather tomorrow morning in the grounds. I won't be able to mind link till then as I still have silver and wolf’s bane in Me.” he said and Rehan nodded. Kane pointed towards door and he left. Now we both were alone in the room. And now I am feeling like I am trapped. The tension between us is just getting increased. I have to leave, I turned from him and put a step ahead but got stopped as sparks ran through my whole body.... Kane...

“Eva... please stay for a while.” He said slowly in a gruff voice and left my hand instantly and I turned around. He was looking tired. He patted the side space beside him and I looked away. There was a chair in side, so I pulled that chair and sat there and he sighed.

“Eva... I am sorry. I know what I did... and I know by the law of any world whether it is of Witches or werewolves... It is not right. I tried to forcefully mark you and that is not right and I am sorry. I just got caught in the moment. You are my mate and I want you to be here with me but if you want to leave... you can. I am not promising you love or world of happiness because as people says... I am heart less. All I can offer is respect because there is nothing inside me left that I can offer so it’s ok if you want to leave. But make sure you leave by the next morning.... But if by the next morning you decide to stay, then come to the pack grounds and I will introduce you to the pack... as their future Luna.” He said and I can hear the strain in his voice.

Why is he taking the blame on him? He told clearly that it was his fault but Alpha King told me that it is his wolf. I have seen with my own eyes when his eyes changed colour and his wolf took over his whole body when he marked me. It is not his fault. The man that is apologising me is different from the one I know, may be because his wolf is totally not present now. I don't know why but even with all of this... I can slightly see my the man who used to be my friend... my trainer and most importantly a good person.

He was saying all of this and then my focus went on the wounds on his wrist which is still bleeding. Why is he still not healing? Silver and wolf’s bane... I closed my eyes and tried to remember the one spell basic that I have learnt for healing. I am no healer witch so I can't do much but basic healing spell is something I have learnt. Sis never liked learning about healing spells but I am always into learning them.

I slowly placed my hand on his wrist and it started to glow. I kept my focus and said the spell and slowly I felt my self draining. Healer witches have inner source of healing powers so they can heal and they won't even get tired but normal witches... it takes a lot of power if you are not born with it. Soon I opened my eyes and took my hand away from his and heard a gasp.

“How?” he said and I rolled my eyes and he narrowed his. I chuckled and his all the expression changed and I felt like he is something which is fascinating him a lot... but what? I even turned back to see what is so fascinating but then realised he is looking at me only. My smile disappeared and his fascination as well. He again masked his emotions.

“I have learned few healing spells. Show me your back.” I said and he tried to say no but one look from me and he slowly turned back and my heart clenched. His back was looking like a mess. I have seen bad to worst injuries and this is looking like worst. I closed my eyes and pit my hands slightly above with both my hands and started healing them. My strength was draining fast and I can see him healing but the thing that caught my eye was that he had many of these kinds of marks. They were looking old so I can't remove them; I am not that good in healing spells.

“Did you do this to your self?” I slowly asked and he moved away from me in the bed and looked away as well.

“You should rest. Your throat is still injured.” He said and rested his head on the pillow behind and closed his eyes. He is tired and in dire need of sleep and so am I. He doesn’t want to answer me and right now I don't have much strength left to answer. I stood up and went to right at the door and I started to feel like powers are drained completely. Healing him as took a lot out of me. I tried to focus on the path but lost it and then my eyes started to feel with black dots and I fall.

I was really hoping that my head would hurt but I was met with some thing soft which ignited sparks and tingles. Kane...

“Shit... how can I be so careless?... you were injured already and I...” he was mumbling something more but I couldn’t focus any more.

He slowly picked me up and I so wanted to try and stop him but I had no strength left. Then I felt something soft under me and then after a second over me as well. I felt a hand stroking my hair and I was drifted to dreamland.

 I don't know why this keeps happening; I woke up again in an unknown room. I woke up and looked at the surroundings and realised that I am in Kane’s room. The drapes are closed. I looked at the whole room but he was not there but there was a couch in the side of the room with quilt. He might have slept there. I sat back straight in the room and looked at the bowl at the side of the table with milk and tablets. I took them and stood up from the bed. It is almost morning. I can get ready and take a bath but I was feeling too lazy, so I used my magic and changed my attire in a royal simple white gown and took a magic bath as well.

I need to talk to Kane. Two questions, why is he taking blame of his wolf? And why is he hurting him self physically? I went outside of my room.

I closed my eyes and tried to find him with my magic. I was focusing and so hard that I almost took a jerk back when I found him. He is again at the basement. I am so confused. Why is he there again?

I went to the basement and to the cell he was in and looked inside. He was not alone, Kane was there with Beta Rehan. They have tied him up but this time it was not silver. I am worried. I went to the door of the cell and looked at him in metal shackles. He was in the same position as list night but he was not bleeding this time. Then why are they keeping him here. I took a deep breath and his eyes snapped to mine and Rehan’s as well.

“GET OUT OF HERE.” Kane shouted and I shook from the core of my heart.

“Luna, please leave... its not safe to be here.” Rehan tried to warn me but I kept looking at his eyes. His eyes were light green but now it is switching back and forth to the dark and light green. Looks like the effect of wolf’s bane and silver is wearing off and his wolf is making an appearance. I was scared as his wolf smirked and kept looking at me. His eyes again changed and got normal and pain contoured his face. He is fighting his wolf but won't be able to for long.

“GET HER OUT OF HERE REHAN” Kane shouted as Leon again tried to take over and Rehan nodded and came to me instantly and got out of the cell and closed it back.

“Luna... it is not safe to be here. Please come with me. I can't touch you but you have to follow me” he said and I was just looking at Kane. His fists are clenched and closed his eyes firmly. He is not okay but I felt a pull and realised that Rehan is pulling my cape desperately to get me out of here. and I nodded and started to walk with him.

“LITTLE MATE!” and I heard a growl a lot more familiar.... Leon. I didn’t had time to even look back as I was almost out of the basement and reached my older room where I have woke up earlier.

“Luna... you stay here. I will send some one with your breakfast.” He said and I was just shook by that growl. Have I made a mistake by staying here?

“Rehan... wait...” I said and he stopped instantly in his way and looked at me and respectfully nodded.

“Rehan.. What was going on there? What’s wrong with Kane?” I said and his eyes widened.

“N-Nothing Luna. He is fine. “ he said and I sighed.

“Stop calling me Luna.... It’s Eva. And no it was not fine. Yesterday guards told me he got him self whipped and now he this... it is not normal I know that much. My sister is mated to Alpha King. I know that much about his wolf.” I said and his eyes widened with realisation that I am his Luna Queen Iris’s sister. Our face are quite similar I thought... mostly people know from a first glance that we are sister.

“I am so sorry Luna Eva but Alpha won't like it and about what you saw...it was nothing. His wolf’s bane and silver was wearing off. Alpha Kane’s wolf is strong so when he comes back, we just do this for a precaution so that he won't shift instantly.” He said and I realised he is telling the truth and I nodded in a yes. I hate that he is still calling me Luna but I guess it is what it is.

“Ok... you can go.” I said and he nodded and turned back but stopped right at the door and looked at me.

“Luna... thank you for coming here. This is the first time after his wolf arrived back, he didn’t try to break through the shackles or shift. It has been just a day and he is really tame already. We all love him but scared of him as well. People call him heartless or Stone Alpha but since you come... now I really hope this will change and for that thank you very much Luna. And if any time you feel like you need any type of help, you can always count on Me.” he said and I nodded. And he bowed down and left.

People here bow down too much. In Alpha King’s Kingdome also I have not seen this much bowing. Are they really that scared of their Alpha or his wolf? I was lost in my world when I heard a knock.

“Come in...” and a woman in her late twenties came inside. She was carrying the plate full of food and placed it on the table on the side and I realised that she is the one Rehan was talking about. She placed the plate and looked at me and bowed down.

“This is your break fast luna... if you need any thing... kindly let me know.” She said sweetly and I nodded.

“Call me Eva... and thank you for the food.” I said and she nodded with an enthusiastic smiled.

“Ok... as you say...I will take your leave Eva....” she said with a bright smile. Good at least some one called me Eva here. she could be a friend that I want right now.

“Wait... what is your name?” I asked and she smiled.

“Donna...” she said and left and my eyes widened. No.. this can't be her right... she can't be the first mate of Kane... she has chosen some one else as his mate who was Alpha King’s warrior then why is she here? she is not the one... she can't be...
