Lucien POV
When I saw the arrow that missed Emily my heart stopped for a while and rage coursed through my veins. Who was after her life and what did they hope to achieve with her death? I opened a portal and sneaked on the attacker. I caught him when he was just about to escape and he happened to be a vampire but his strength was far inferior to mine. I dragged him back with me to the place and he committed suicide then. “It seems like this war involves not only witches but everyone, " Kiran said, and my mind was all focused on Emily’s safety. I went beside her and squatted down and caressed her cheek to see if she was not injured. Whoever wanted her dead must first go through me. “Tharros where is this temple?” I asked. “ Deep inside the woods on the Northern forest…” he answered but was not given the time to finish his sentence as the werewolf stopped him mid-sentence. “I know the Northen forest like the back of my pal but I have never across any building talk about a temple,” he said. “Well, that is because the temple only appears during nighttime when there is a moon. The Moon Armulet inside the temple only makes it appear at night and it seems like today’s moon is the last before a new moon rises” he explained. “Which means we have to go there today right?” Emily weakly said and I saw Tharros nod his head in conformation. “But you are not strong enough Emily. You need to rest” I worriedly reminded her but she was stubborn. “Lucien who knows if I will be able to wait for a new moon to rise. If we miss this chance something tells me, we would have made a grave error” she firmly said and she grabbed a coat and put it on with determination written on her face. “One thing before we go, we might face danger because it is said the temple’s gates are protected by a strong magic” Tharros added. “Just take us to the temple Tharros,” I said getting irritated by his nagging. He conjured a spell and a vortex of colour and sound appeared and we all walked through it. On the other side we were now standing in the middle of the Northern forest. “Now we are here, where is it?” Kiran asked getting frustrated. “This is where my magic could take us. Try to keep up and don’t stray away from the path” he cautioned and we continued moving. The more we moved the more thicker and darker the forest became. Out of nowhere some vines then started crawling from the ground and tying us. The pain was excruciating but Emily was not tied by the vines. “Emily watch out!”I called when I saw a shadow giant running towards her. I tried to set myself free, even tried using my magic to destroy the vines but the vines seemed to be feeding off my magic. Every time I blasted it they became stronger. “Tharros do something. What is that thing?” Kiran said as he watched the shadow monster looking at Emily. “That is the protector of the temple gate. Emily close your eyes and touch the shadow” he called at Emily. “Are you crazy man what if it kills her” Kiran called. “I remember I read something about it so trust me I know what am doing,” he said and I watched as Emily walked toward the shadow. I could hear her heart beating fast. She was scared, she walked slowly and the rustling of the dead leaves as she moved closer made me anxious about what would happen. She moved towards it and touched the shadow and immediately white light came from within her and the shadow turned from deep black to grey and it bowed down to her. “Tharros how about you explain what is happening now” Kiran asked with the same confusion I also had. “It means that the shadow now realizes Emily as its new master,” he said and after that the vines loosened and I went to Emily and embraced her. “His name is Yang” Emily softly said and she felt a little dizzy and fell in my arms. The moment she fell in my arms, my heart started pumping blood so viciously that I was afraid I would burst. The feeling of holding my mate in my arms was too good to be true. I wonder how long I can hold myself from this urge to mark her. “Well, well, well. What a show. I have to give you a thumbs up all of you. I have tried for many years to come to this place but that Shadow would not let me pass through. I underestimated the power of the Destiny child. Now move aside and I promise no one will get hurt that amulet belongs to me” I heard a voice behind me and smelt new people as well in the air. Their scent was distinct like a rat living in the sewage. We had been ambushed. I turned to face where the voice was coming from. It was coming from the dark spot of the forest. “Show yourself” I commanded and I heard the person laughing hysterically and walked softly to the moonlight. Her feet were the first to step on the light, followed by her dark gown with several symbols engraved on it then lastly her tattooed face also became visible through the moonlight. No, it couldn’t be,’ Priestess"I’ve lived for centuries and heard countless tales about the so-called Destiny Child," Darius sneered as he circled me like a predator. "Rumored to be the one who will stop me and Maledicta. Let’s see what you’re truly made of, child.""It’s a shame you think you can destroy me so easily. Ask Merlin the greatest wizard of all time, according to your people. He died by my hand, unable to even stand on equal ground with me." He laughed coldly. "Now, I’ll give you one last chance. Choose your fate wisely. Join me and Maledicta, and we will rule this world in perfect harmony. That’s the true balance of power.""I’ll say this a million times if I have to," I replied, my voice firm and unwavering. "I will never join you. As long as I still breathe, I’ll fight for those I love and ensure you never succeed in your twisted plans.""Then let’s see what you’re really made of," he smirked and in an instant, the world around me shifted.Suddenly, I found myself standing on a battlefield littered
"I underestimated you, Destiny’s Child," Darius said, frustration in his voice as he hurled every spell and strike at the shimmering barrier around us. But the more he tried to approach, the more the shield retaliated, throwing him several meters back with each failed attempt."Are you guys okay? Don’t scare me like that ever again," I cried as I crouched beside the fallen Kiran and Lucien. My voice trembled, and tears welled in my eyes."We're fine, Emily. But… are you okay? Something’s changing within you ,you’re glowing," Kiran said, staring at me with wide eyes.I looked down at myself. A soft, pulsing glow had wrapped around my body. "I don’t know what’s happening… but I can feel my power now," I whispered, both awed and afraid.Suddenly, commotion erupted from the far side of town screams, smoke, and crumbling debris echoing through the sky."What was that?" Lucien asked, his voice tense."Oh, that?" Darius chuckled darkly from beyond the barrier. "Those are my pets. Since I can
"Who is this Darius, and why does the mere mention of his name make everyone freeze?" I asked, my voice cutting through the thick silence. From the way Tharros had spoken, I could already sense it this wasn’t just some ancient enemy. This was someone whose very name bled power and dread. What kind of being could cause such fear? Was he truly that powerful?“Child, there are still many things you don’t know,” Aunt Laura said, her voice laced with panic. “Now that Darius is returning, we need to leave this place. He’s a force no one can face not even you. You're still weak. You haven’t even learned to master your powers or retrieved the Book. How are we supposed to fight him?”“Laura, enough with your anxiety,” Aunt May snapped. “This isn’t the time to panic or scare Emily. She’s only just beginning to understand her destiny. And even if we do run, now that those forces know she exists, they’ll hunt us down regardless.”The room fell into an uneasy silence, thick with tension. I glanced
“What are you talking about, Lena?” I asked, confused. I hadn’t really been paying attention to her wild ramblings.“I’m just stating the obvious, Emily,” she replied with a smirk. “You all think you’ve won, that you’ve defeated me but this was only the first phase. I’ve already gathered the blood needed to release him from his prison. Once he returns, together with Maledicta, they will rule this world. You will either join them… or be destroyed.”“Then we’ll make sure you die before he even arrives,” Kieran growled, stepping forward. But Lena didn’t flinch. Her eyes were cold, her voice emotionless. “As if you could stop me. He will always come for me. You’ll see soon enough. He’s approaching fast, and I can’t wait to see the look on your faces when he returns.”That was the final straw for Lucien. He stormed toward her, slamming her against the wall with force, but Lena just kept laughing unhinged, psychotic laughter.“Then we’ll send you to a place even he can’t reach. This time, y
“Wow, you look wonderful, Emily. When those two boys see you, they’ll be drooling for sure I swear!” Amelia giggled as I twirled in front of the mirror, admiring the reflection staring back at me.I gently traced my fingers over the now-sealed bite marks on my neck. An overwhelming sense of peace and contentment washed over me. I was finally theirs and they were mine.“Remind me to figure out how to shut you up next time,” I muttered playfully to Amelia. But before I could finish my rant, my stomach growled loudly. That was my cue to head downstairs and feed my innocent, demanding stomach. It wasn’t fair to punish it for things it had no part in.I stepped out of the room, and everywhere I walked, maids and guards bowed in respect. A group of young ladies where they came from, I had no idea suddenly began scattering rose petals along my path. Was all this really necessary? This whole royal treatment felt too formal. One day, I’d probably run from it all. Just as I reached the stairs,
After several hours of rest, there was still so much that needed our attention. Now that I had been officially marked as the Luna of the pack, I had responsibilities especially helping the people who were clearing the destruction caused by Lena and her strategic greed. My body was practically immobile from what had happened earlier that morning, and just the thought of it sent a pink blush to my cheeks. I limped toward the bathroom and drew a much-needed bath with scented oils and fragrant soap.I soaked quietly, lost in my thoughts, until I suddenly heard a voice calling my name.“Emily…”It kept echoing, again and again. I looked around but saw no one. Still, the voice resonated in my ears.“Who’s there?” I asked, now alert and ready to fight whoever was hiding in the shadows.“It’s me your wolf, Emily. Close your eyes,” the voice urged gently.I obeyed, and instantly, I was pulled into a vision-like world. Everything around me was green, peaceful, and vibrant. A clear river flowed
