Chapter Sixteen

Drew brings the first aid box and gently takes my hand in his hands. He kneels down in front of me and looks into my eyes.

"Are you okay?" Drew asked ,words somehow comforting yet commanding.

"Not at my greatest, right now." I murmur.

"It's okay. Now, I am gonna softly take the glass shards out. Okay?" He asks me.

"Hmhm." I nod my head and shut my eyes tight because of anticipation.

"One. Two." He takes one shard out and I let out a piercing cry.

"Stop. Don't please." I say.

"Look at me. Don't think about the pain. Okay?" He says.

I grip his other hand with my safe hand and press harder when he takes another shard out, this time a small one. This cycle continues and all the while I have his hand in a death grip.

"There, all done." He says and discards all the glass and bandadges my hand. He wipes my dry tears with his thumb and gives me some water.

"Now, You feeling alright?" He asks me .

"Yes. Good," I say. "Thank you for this." I nod towards my bandaged hand.
