42. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

Dave had been waiting for Pevita for over an hour at the restaurant, where they could meet and have dinner. But Pevita didn't come. Dave ordered someone to get his cell phone that was left in the car.

“Thanks,” Dave said when someone handed him his cell phone. The person just nodded politely and then left.

Dave starts turning on the cellphone and hopes for an incoming message from Pevita, a message telling him if Pevita is late. Empty, no message. This suddenly made Dave uneasy and immediately called Pevita, but never picked up.

Dave put the cell phone on the table. Dave thinks positively, maybe Pevita will come to the restaurant soon. So, he kept waiting. Five minutes passed. Dave smiled at the ringing of the cell phone. But Dave's smile faded as he read the name on the phone screen.

“Davina,” Dave muttered.

Dave forcefully picked up a call from Davina. It's not uncommon for the woman to call Dave. So far, she has never contacted Dave.
