Master Jayden and his personal assistant Andrew matched into the Oscars' family secret mason and when Jayden tried to escape to his room, they got surprised to see Amanda on the sofa crocheting. It was more of her hobby. As they walked into the living room, she turned and raised a brow, then waved her hand to her son.
“Where did you go to? I thought you retired to your room already.” Amanda asked and stopped what she was doing.
“I…” He was thinking of what to say.
“We went to town to…” Andrew already thought of a lie, but Jayden wasn't ready to let his personal assistant get the credit of defending him.
Interrupting Andrew, “I went to town to visit a long-time friend!” He walked up to his mother and sat beside her, “And I took your Mercedes as well.” Jayden stated, and she smiled.
“I know that as well! Dominic told me so.” She mentioned and gently touched her son's face with her free hand, her eyes were brown, and it looked so beautiful. Jayden then rested his head on his mother's shoulder and held her tight to himself. Andrew, however, excused himself and went away.
Jayden's weak point was his mother. There were only emotions seen on his face whenever he was close to her but, to the outside world, he was a furious beast.
“Dinner is ready!” Margret announced, “Oh dear, I didn't see you around. Did you go somewhere?” She asked Jayden and got no response. Jayden just gave a deaf ear to her question and stood up.
“Thank you, Margret!” Amanda said in a gentle tone. Margret pretended to be pleased and turned away.
“How do you put up with her?” Jayden asked angrily.
Amanda didn't react, she just picked back her crochet and continued, “She is your dad's wife. You really have to accept that and stop all this. She is also your stepmother, you know?” She looked up at Jayden and he looked away.
“I will go refresh before everyone comes down.” He responded and walked away.
Soon, everyone gathered around the big dinning table. Since they were, they had to leave the small dinning and use the one downstairs. It was so wide and well spaced. It has frames of different art works on it but, not more than six. This time, there were no empty seats because all were occupied and each person knew their position at the dinning.
Mr. Oscars was the one to seat at the grand seat and Jayden sat beside him. However, the dinning table was filled with countless delicious meals and everyone wanted to have a bite as fast as possible but, Mr. Oscars would order someone to pray for the meal first. It was the rule of the Oscars family and since it was a get together dinner, it must be carried out.
The servants of the household stood beside the dinning table, just in case they need to attend to any urgent assistance.
“Jayden, pray for the food!” Mr. Oscars requested, and everyone closed their eyes. He picked Jayden because, it has been a while, Jayden joined them to eat. Though they all had lunch, but he asked for his food to be taken to his room.
“I won't!” Everyone heard Jayden refusal and eyes opened again.
To avoid quarrels, Amanda tapped Alexis and without saying a word, she knew why her Aunt touched her, “I will pray!” Alexis mentioned, “Let's close our eyes, please.” Alexis said with her tiny feminine voice, and it melted Jayden. Her sweet voice would melt any soul and so, everyone obeyed her.
They knew she was doing it for Alexis and so, no one dared to say anything since Mr. Oscars already accepted. Alexis was so special in the Oscars’ family. Was it because of Jayden or her pure nature?
Alexis said a short prayer and soon, spoons on plates were being heard. Everyone went for their taste.
“Please pass the vegetable!” One said and immediately, a young maid rushed and handed it over.
“So, Jayden, what have you been up to lately?” Margret asked while faking a smile.
Jayden didn't even rise his head to look at her before giving an answer, “It’s not your business!” He said rudely.
“But I just want to know if you're really handling the affairs of the company as suppose.” Margret was persistent and it annoyed Jayden the more.
Jayden raised his head and looked up at Margret, “That is just none of your fuck*** business.”
“You don't talk to her like that! And what did I say about the f word?” Mr. Oscars warned.
“Or you get another wife? Isn't that the complete statement you had in mind?” Jayden asked, and everyone at the table froze. Even the servants dared not to breathe.
“You don't talk to your father that way!” Amanda uttered.
Jayden dropped his fork roughly, “I’m done eating! If you'd excuse me.” He furrowed his brow, looking like an angry beast, he glanced at his Dad and then at Margret. He cleaned his mouth and walked out.
“Son!” Amanda called out as she rolled her eyes at Margret. She knew Margret was continually trying to put more charcoals to the burning fire.
Jayden heard his mother's voice and stopped halfway out of the dinning room. He was standing just opposite a hung mirror on the wall. His back reflection showed in the mirror.
“Jay, you shouldn't get angry at that. His only…” Aunt Kathy did not finish her statement.
“I don't need your advice.” Jayden paused for a while, “Mum, I will come back tomorrow. The house is suffocating.” Amanda understood her son. Though the house was wide enough for ventilation but, the truth remained that, he hated almost everyone.
Margret's relatives came over for holiday as well, and it annoyed Jayden to see them.
However, Alexis wanted to follow Jayden because, she was the only one who could cool his temper. He loved her so much that he would do anything she asks.
“No, stay back with mum. She might need your assistance. I am sorry, I won't sleep here tonight but, I promise to get something when I come tomorrow.” Alexis sat back on her seat and nodded in acceptance.
Andrew, immediately, ran after his master Jayden. Andrew called the driver and also called a hotel. The hotel was Jayden's favorite. Though he loved other hotels, but, he visited this hotel more than the others.
“I’m going with the Ferrari. You come with the girl.” Jayden said, while pointing at the Ferrari, he entered the car without waiting for the driver and zoomed off.
Back to work. While he was still trying to log into his email, Rita opened the door without knocking. It distracted Jayden because he immediately turned to see who it was. Surely, it wasn’t Andrew.“Hey!” Rita said as their eyes met.“One day, you will give me a heart attack. Know first. One day I might be in a good mood and charge towards you before I would know it’s you,” Jayden teased, and Rita rolled her eyes at him.“You wish!” Saying that, she took a seat. “And you are yet to be in such a mood for years.” She laughed.“So what do you want?” he asked as he leaned back and folded his arms.“To use your room. I am so tired and sleepy,” she said while yawning.“No. You can’t for today! She is sleeping. You can stay in a hotel.” She frowned.“Who? One of your sluts?”“Hey, don’t address them like that. Also, she is not a slut,” he corrected, and Rita lost it.“Oh, I see. Who is she to you?” Rita’s voice was a bit louder than usual.“You do not need to know. And she is not like the ot
As soon as it clocked 5pm, the board meeting came to an end. Jayden asked of Loverina in front of Rita but because of an urgent thing to sort out, she went back to her office on another floor. Jayden rushed to his office, along side Andrew who had informed him that Loverina he wasn’t sure about Loverina and a few other staff.“Whoa!” One of them exclaimed at the sight in front of them.“You can leave now, I will call you later.” Jayden ordered and they all left, including Andrew. Rita who had just approached the door thought he would let her but to her surprise, “You too, Rita.” And shut the door close.Loverina had herself folded on one of his seats. It was the longest in the office. Her hair covered a part of her face which made it a bit scary. He reached the seat and squatted, slowly he removed the strides of hair and smiled.“I thought you went home already. I’m sorry for keepinf you waiting. I just have to work.” He apologized genuinely and attempted to kiss her tempting lips whe
Again they were silent. Loverina made attempt to move closer. She wanted to touch him and tell him how she missed him without minding if she was nothing. She took a deep breath and opened her mouth to say the words when the door was pushed opened from outside and Andrew stepped in. His facial expression looked like one who had just seen a ghost. He diverted his stare to Jayden, and back at Loverina.“How?” It slipped out his mouth before he could stop himself. And quickly, covered with mouth with his palm, praying Jayden doesn’t pick offense and punish him later.“What do you want and sometimes, you should knock.” He cautioned Andrew.“I’m sorry sir. Didn’t know you had a guest around. I came to remind you that the directors are still waiting in the board room. Everyone is present.” He responded, trying so hard not to look at Loverina’s direction again. If Jayden was to forgive him for bashing in on them, then he would get provoked.“Tell them I will be there in five minutes.” Jayden
Loverina stood in front of the receptionist desk holding up two fancy bags. The people around gave her weird gazes which made her wonder if something was wrong or her clothing.“How many I help you?” The receptionist asked, scanning her from head to toe. This made everything worse for her. She felt so uncomfortable. Though she was certain of her clothes and makeup because there was no way Peggy would let her leave the house looking crazy. And regret flowed her mind. She would have just stayed back at home, missing Jayden in peace while keeping Peggy company.“I…” She delayed, thinking of the right way to introduce herself.‘Do I say girlfriend or a close friend to Jayden?’ She asked internally.“ have you suddenly lost your voice or something else?” The receptionist who obviously didn’t like her, asked with a scowled face.“No…. Not like that. I’m sorry. It’s my first time here.” Loverina apologized, deeply wishing a familiar face would come in to her rescue but unfortunately, none wa
Loverina tried to hide the excitement as she hurried through the small passages leading to where her room was at. Not minding to lock it after getting in, she took off her clothes and ran to the bathroom. She totally forgot how angry she was. It has to be one of her longest bath.If she was going to the company then, she has to look her best. And of course smell nice too. Not to overdress, she wore a dark blue jean and brown structured sweater, and a designer sneaker. The moment she got out of her room, she called out to Peggy.“I’m downstairs!” Peggy replied in a loud tone so Loverina would hear her. When Loverina reached, she was confused to see Peggy hadn’t changed her dress. She didn’t even look prepared.“What’s going on? You haven’t dressed yet!” Loverina scanned and Peggy didn’t look bothered either. “Are you not coming along?” She asked.“No. I don’t go out that much. We can’t all go there, someone needs to be home.”“Did Jayden…” Peggy interrupted, knowing Loverina might be
Night came and yet, there were no signs of Jayden. Peggy served dinner and also informed Loverina that, Jayden had called that he wont be coming home as there are a lot of works to be done. On hearing it, Loverina scoffed. Jayden can’t fool her. She was certain he used work as an excuse to go hangout with other women.Meanwhile Jayden by 11pm, was still sitting in his office, staring right at his laptop with a cold expression that would scare anyone except the woman with him.“What were the major problems in my absence?” He asked Rita who sat opposite him, holding up a file to the face.Rita pushed back strides of hairs and looked up at Jayden, shifting the file aside.“Honestly it was almost a shit hole if not for my help. We will also need to change some staff, they act so suspicious and might be a spy.”Jayden took a pause to what he was typing, as stared as if trying to crosscheck his work. “Fire them and get replacements immediately.” he replied and now, raised his face to look o
