“Mummy is in trouble”

I saw Mindy with her little legs run up to me. I picked her up. There was this sense of relief as well from having her safe and in my arms. She was important to her mummy, Selene and somehow she had become important to me too.

I didn’t even take enough time to be marveled at the fact that she was talking again. In another world, this would be ecstatic

“Tell me darling girl where is your mummy hmm?”

Mindy was crying, her chest heaved up and down with how fast she was breathing.

“Mummy was attacked by the bad wolves” she wailed “they are hurting her”

I stilled, my worst fears turning into a reality right before my very eyes

“What did you say?”

“Mummy wanted to save me from aunty Nova but the bad wolves gathered around her, they are hurting her”

Just then Kairos burst in.

“Alpha King we are surrounded by rogues. They are all around”

“Gather all the aged, and children to the safe underground ad gather the pack. This is war”
