Evelyn checked her phone again. Nathan was over an hour late. If she hadn't been here to gather evidence, she would have left long ago. Her patience was wearing thin, but she needed this confession.

She stared at the untouched glass of wine, her nerves getting the better of her. Maybe just a small sip to calm down, she thought. After everything that had happened today, she deserved at least that.

She lifted the glass and took a careful sip. The wine was sweeter than she expected, with an odd aftertaste that lingered on her tongue.

Within minutes, something felt wrong. Her body started feeling warm, then hot. Her throat became dry, and she found herself drinking more of the wine, thinking it would help. It only made things worse.

The room began to spin slightly. Her limbs felt heavy, and keeping her head up became difficult. Panic started to set in as she realized what was happening.

The same server appeared beside her table, his smile too practiced, and fake.

"Miss, are you feeling alright? You look a bit pale. Perhaps you should lie down?"

Through her growing haze, Evelyn saw the truth in his eyes. This had been planned. The wine was drugged.

She tried to speak, to call for help, but her voice came out as barely a whisper. When she attempted to stand, her legs buckled beneath her.

"Easy now," the server said, catching her arm. "You've had a bit too much to drink. Let me help you to a room where you can rest."

To anyone watching, it looked like a concerned employee helping an intoxicated guest. No one questioned it.

He half-carried her down a hallway, using a keycard to open a door. The room was dark, and before she could protest, he pushed her inside. The door clicked shut behind her, and she heard the lock engage.

She was trapped.

---

Roman Sinclair had just returned from an exhausting business dinner where he'd consumed more wine than he'd intended. His international clients had insisted on celebrating their new partnership well into the night.

Back in his hotel suite, he decided a cold shower would help clear his head before the early morning meetings tomorrow.

He was in the bathroom when he heard what sounded like the main door slamming shut. He paused, listening carefully. The hotel staff knew not to disturb him, and he wasn't expecting anyone.

Concerned, he turned off the water and wrapped a towel around his waist before stepping into the main room.

The suite was dark, but he could distinctively make out a figure on his bed. A woman, writhing restlessly, pulling at her clothes and making soft, distressed sounds.

Roman's jaw clenched. He'd dealt with this before, business associates sometimes sent "gifts" to important clients. It was a practice he found disgusting.

"Who are you?" he demanded coldly. "Who sent you here?"

The woman didn't respond coherently. She continued moving on the bed, her soft whimpers growing more desperate. Even in the dim light, he could see she was beautiful, and despite his anger, his body reacted involuntarily.

"Get up and leave," he said harshly. "Now. Or I'll have security remove you."

But she seemed beyond hearing him. She began removing the rest of her clothes, whispering brokenly, "So hot... please help me..."

Her voice was hoarse and desperate. Roman stepped closer to get a better look, intending to forcibly remove her from his room.

When he saw her face clearly, his eyes widened in surprise.

He moved toward her, intending to wrap her in a sheet and call for medical help, but when his hand touched her skin, she was burning up. The way she was acting, these symptoms, he had experienced this before in the corporate world's darker dealings.

She'd been drugged with something powerful.

The moment she felt his cool touch, Evelyn clung to him desperately. "Please," she begged, her hands frantically moving over his chest and arms. "You're so cold... I need... please touch me..."

Roman found himself in an impossible situation. He could try cold water, or call a doctor, but looking at her condition, he wasn't sure anything would help in time. The drug seemed to be affecting her severely.

But as he held this small, trembling woman against his chest, the woman he'd wanted in secret for so long, his resolve began to crumble. Her skin was like fire, her hands roamed his bare chest desperately, seeking relief from the burning inside her.

Her glassy eyes looked up at him with such desperate need, letting out those soft, needy whimpers that sounded exactly like a kitten begging to be touched. He gazed at her bare shoulders, her collarbones, and the curve of her breasts that rose and fell too fast.

His towel was already tight. One look at her flushed cheeks, and the way she kept rubbing her thighs together.

Every good thought in his head shattered.

"Damn it all," he muttered roughly.

He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her deeply.

His mouth captured hers hungrily, his tongue exploring every corner. Evelyn responded instantly, kissing him back with desperate inexperience, her small moans vibrating against his lips.

She tasted sweet and innocent, and her clumsy but eager responses only inflamed him more. The way she pulled at his tongue, sucked on his lips, trying to draw him deeper, it was intoxicating.

Roman's control shattered completely. In one swift motion, he removed the remaining of her clothes, his towel falling to the floor. He pressed her back onto the bed, his body covering hers.

Their mouths found each other again, and he kissed her like a man drowning. Evelyn's legs wrapped around his waist instinctively, pulling him closer, though the drug had left her barely aware of her actions.

His hand slid between her thighs, finding her already prepared by the drug's effects. He positioned himself carefully, knowing what he was about to do, but he didn’t want to stop.

When he entered her, Evelyn cried out sharply.

The pain was immediate and intense. She was clearly inexperienced, her body struggling to accommodate him. Tears streamed down her face as she tensed beneath him.

Roman stilled, his own control hanging by a thread. But the heat of her body, the way she felt around him, and her broken little sounds of pain and need pushed him past all rational thought.

"I'm sorry," he whispered roughly against her ear. "I'll make it better."

He began to move, slowly at first, then with increasing intensity. Each movement drew gasps and cries from Evelyn, her pain mixing with the drug-induced need until she couldn't distinguish between them.

Roman buried his face in her neck, groaning with each movement. She felt perfect, like she was made for him, and he couldn't bring himself to stop.

Gradually, Evelyn's cries of pain transformed into something else. Her body began responding, moving with his rhythm even as tears continued to fall. Her nails dug into his shoulders as waves of unfamiliar sensation washed over her.

He kissed away her tears, whispering her name like a prayer as he continued to claim her completely.

In the back of his mind, Roman knew this would complicate everything. But holding Evelyn in his arms, The girl he’d never dared touch, the woman he'd always wanted, finally in his arms, he couldn't bring himself to care about the consequences.

He kissed her again, swallowing her cries, as he continued moving fast inside her.

The Aurelion jet descended through a layer of thin clouds, revealing the coastline of Olyndria below. The sea glittered under the afternoon sun, its surface rippling with shades of deep blue and turquoise. White buildings stretched along the shoreline, climbing gently into emerald hills where rows of villas overlooked the ocean. From above, the entire country looked like a painting.Evelyn leaned closer to the window, unable to hide the smile that spread across her face. "It's beautiful," she murmured. "I didn't get to see it properly last time."Lena stretched in her seat, rolling her shoulders. "You were a bit preoccupied. What happened? Something about Alexander collapsing?"Evelyn let out a helpless groan. "Don't remind me. That trip was supposed to be relaxing, and it turned into something else." She paused, her gaze distant. "We had to leave so quickly. I barely got to see anything that night.""Well, this time there's no drama." Lena paused. "At least, not yet."Evelyn shot he

Roman sat behind his desk, the glow of several monitors washing the office in a pale blue light. His sleeves were rolled to his forearms, and a cup of coffee sat forgotten beside the keyboard, long gone cold. His phone rested against a stack of documents, the screen occupied by Theon’s face“I still don’t understand why you’re making this so complicated,” Theon said, rubbing between his brows. Several reports and laboratory samples littered the desk behind him. “You created the virus. You created the antidote. Just tell me the formula.”Roman leaned back in his chair, his fingers pressing against his temple."It's not that simple. The original formula was destroyed when I burned the lab. What I remember is fragmented. I can give you the framework, but you'll have to fill in the gaps.""Fragmented?" Theon's brows shot up. "You designed the damn thing from scratch. How is it fragmented?""Because I didn't write it down." Roman's voice was flat. "I kept it in my head. And my head hasn't

Three months had passed since the first snow blanketed the city, and winter had finally begun loosening its grip. The frozen ground slowly gave way to the first signs of spring, making the season feel lighter and warmer. For Lena and Evelyn, the timing of their getaway couldn’t have been more perfect.“Welcome aboard, ladies.”Captain Laurent greeted them with a warm, professional smile as they stepped into the spacious cabin of the Aurelion private jet.“It’s a beautiful day to fly. I trust you’ll have a relaxing trip.”“Thank you, Captain,” Lena replied, settling comfortably into one of the plush leather seats. With a courteous nod, the captain excused himself and disappeared into the cockpit to complete the final pre-flight checks.Moments later, Mrs. Chen stepped aboard, carefully pushing Noah’s sleek travel crib ahead of her. The little boy slept soundly inside, completely oblivious to the gentle hum of the aircraft preparing for departure. Without disturbing him, she quietly whe

Rhys’s jaw tightened until the muscles in his face began to ache.Despite the bruises scattered across his body, he forced himself upright and looked Theon straight in the eye. The swelling around one side of his face had already darkened into an ugly bruise, making him appear far more miserable than he had a few hours ago.“You know…” His voice was hoarse. “I can have you arrested for assault.”Theon didn’t even blink. The corner of his lips lifted into a faint smile. “Can you?”He walked closer without the slightest hint of hesitation, stopping only an arm’s length away. “Where’s your proof?”Rhys remained silent.Theon reached out and dusted an imaginary speck of dirt from Rhys’s already wrinkled shirt before patting his shoulder.“You of all people should know how important evidence is.” His smile widened. “You’re a lawyer, Rhys. You can’t accuse someone based on suspicion or because we happened to have an unpleasant conversation.”The room fell silent.Rhys stared at him for seve

The underground parking garage was almost silent except for the distant hum of ventilation fans and the occasional drip of melting snow from the ceiling.A sleek black car sat tucked inside one of the darker corners, its engine long since turned off.Inside, a man rested both hands on the steering wheel, his gaze fixed on the private elevator leading to the penthouse above. He glanced at his watch. “You’re late,” he whispered.Outside, snow continued to fall, coating the city in white. Every now and then another vehicle entered the garage, but none belonged to the person he was waiting for. Finally, bright headlights swept across the concrete walls. The familiar silver sedan rolled into its reserved parking space before coming to a smooth stop. The man inside the black car straightened. His gloved fingers reached for the black mask resting on the passenger seat.Within seconds, it concealed the lower half of his face. A dark cap followed, pulled low enough to shadow his eyes and hair.

The cold wind greeted Lena the moment she stepped out of the taxi. She pulled her coat tighter around herself and stood quietly before the modest two-storey house.Snow drifted down from the gray morning sky, settling over the roof, the driveway, and the bare branches lining the fence.A cloud of white mist escaped her lips as she let out a slow breath. For a long moment, she simply stood there. Then she walked to the front door and entered the passcode. The lock clicked. She pushed the door open.“Dad… I’m home.” Her voice echoed through the quiet house. No answer came. She slipped off her boots, brushed the snow from her coat, and hung it neatly on the rack before walking farther inside. The television was still on. Morning news played quietly across the empty living room.“Dad?”Still nothing. A faint crease formed between her brows. She made her way down the hallway and stopped outside William’s bedroom.‘Maybe he had gone back to sleep.’She knocked before pushing the door open.
