POV: Aria

I stared at the diamond collar around my neck, my fingers trembling against the cold metal. Luca was unconscious on the couch, bleeding out, and I had to make a choice that could kill us all.

Take it off and we'd be invisible. Isabella and Viktor couldn't track us. But Luca's men couldn't find us either. We'd be alone, vulnerable, with a dying man and no medical help.

Keep it on and we'd have help. But we'd also have a target on our backs.

"Aria, decide." Dante's voice was urgent. He had his hands pressed against Luca's wound, his fingers slick with blood. "I need you focused. Is that thing staying on or coming off?"

I looked at Luca's pale face. His breathing was shallow, labored. He was dying right in front of me.

"It stays on." I moved to Dante's side. "We need help, and Luca's men can provide it. What do you need me to do?"

"Medical supplies. Isabella's looking, but this place better be stocked or he's not going to make it." Dante's jaw was tight. "Check that cabinet aga

  • BOUND TO THE BEAST    New Terms.

POV: AriaWe stood in what used to be Luca's office, now just a shell of blackened walls and debris. Marco had cleared a space in the corner and set up a makeshift desk, just a piece of plywood balanced on concrete blocks. It wasn't much, but it would do. I pulled out a notebook I'd found in the safe house and started writing. Luca watched me, his expression unreadable."First term," I said, not looking up. "No more locks on my doors. Any doors. I come and go as I please.""Agreed," Luca said immediately."Second term. No more tracking devices. Not in jewelry, not in clothes, not in phones. Nothing.""Agreed."I looked up at him. "You're agreeing very quickly.""You asked for honesty. Here's honesty." He crossed his arms, leaning against the ruined wall. "I'm shocked you're staying at all. I'd agree to anything right now if it means you don't walk away."His bluntness caught me off guard. I'd expected pushback, negotiation, the usual power games. Not this immediate surrender."Third t

  • BOUND TO THE BEAST    Ashes.

POV: LucaThe smell hit me first. Smoke. Ash. Death. I stood at the end of the long driveway, staring at what remained of my ancestral home. The mansion where fifteen generations of Morettis had lived, loved, schemed, and died was now nothing but blackened stone and twisted metal. The morning sun cast long shadows across the ruins, making the destruction look even more apocalyptic. Part of the east wing had collapsed completely. The grand staircase where my grandfather had descended every morning for forty years was gone. The library that had housed books dating back to the 1600s was a pile of smoldering rubble.Everything. Gone."Boss." Marco appeared beside me, his face smudged with soot. He'd been here all night, coordinating the cleanup. "You shouldn't be here yet. The structure isn't stable.""How many?" My voice came out flat, emotionless. I couldn't afford emotion right now.Marco's jaw tightened. "Twelve dead. Seven wounded, three critical. They're at the private hospital."Tw

  • BOUND TO THE BEAST    The Drive.

POV: AriaMy hands trembled as I held the small USB drive, no bigger than my thumbnail. Such a tiny thing to contain the power to destroy a man's entire world.I sat on the floor of the safe house's back room, my laptop balanced on my knees. Luca was in the next room, being patched up by Dante. Viktor had left with Isabella's body, his face showing no emotion as he carried his daughter away. The ultimatum still hung in the air. Luca had forty eight hours to decide if he would transport Isabella's replacement, another problem child from Viktor's organization. But right now, none of that mattered. Only this drive mattered. I plugged it in.The folder structure appeared immediately, organized with meticulous care. Bank accounts. Criminal records. Contacts. Blackmail material. Everything needed to dismantle the Moretti empire brick by brick. I could send this to the FBI, to Interpol, to every law enforcement agency in the world. Luca would spend the rest of his life in prison. My finger h

  • BOUND TO THE BEAST    The Necklace’s Secret.

POV: AriaIsabella's blood was warm on my hands as I knelt beside her body. Her eyes stared up at nothing, empty and lifeless. The woman who'd tried to kill me, who'd offered me power, who'd revealed the truth about the necklace, was gone."Aria." Dante's voice cut through my shock. "We need to move. Now."But I couldn't move. I was staring at Isabella's face, at the slight curl of her lips that might have been a smile. She'd died trying to tell me something. Something important about the necklace."Wait." I leaned closer to her, desperate. "What did she say? Right at the end?""She said it was a kill switch." Luca's voice was hollow. "That Viktor could activate it and..""No, after that. She said something else." I replayed the moment in my mind. Isabella's lips moving, barely audible over the sound of Viktor's men leaving. "She said... press the center.""Press the center?" Dante knelt beside me. "Of what?""The necklace." My hand went to my throat, to the cold metal and diamonds th

  • BOUND TO THE BEAST    The Real Enemy.

POV: LucaI watched Aria walk back toward us, her shoulders straight despite everything she'd just endured. She'd faced Isabella Russo and chosen to come back. To me. Despite every reason not to.The tears on my face felt foreign. I couldn't remember the last time I'd cried. Maybe when my mother died. Maybe never."We need to get you medical attention," Dante said, his arm still supporting my weight. "You've lost too much blood.""I'll survive." I kept my eyes on Aria. "I always do."But before Aria could reach us, the sound of more vehicles approaching made us all freeze. Heavy engines. Multiple cars. This wasn't Isabella returning."No." The word escaped me. "Not now. Not when we're this close to.."Six black armored SUVs pulled into the parking lot, surrounding us in a perfect tactical formation. Professional. Military grade. The doors opened simultaneously, and armed men poured out. At least thirty of them, all carrying automatic weapons. And walking through the center of them, ca

  • BOUND TO THE BEAST    Face to Face.

POV: AriaThe bullet never came. Isabella's gun was pointed at me, her finger on the trigger, but she didn't fire. Instead, she tilted her head and studied me like I was a puzzle she couldn't quite solve."Lower your weapons!" she called out to her men. "All of you."The gunfire stopped abruptly. An eerie silence fell over the warehouse parking lot. Behind me, I could hear Dante's harsh breathing and Luca's pained gasps as he struggled to stay upright."What are you doing?" one of Isabella's men asked, confused."I said lower your weapons." Her voice was ice. "Anyone who fires without my permission will answer to me personally."The men obeyed, though they kept their guns ready. Isabella lowered hers too, but didn't holster it. She took three steps toward me, then stopped."You stepped in front of a bullet for him." It wasn't a question. "For Dante. The man you barely know.""I stepped in front of a bullet for someone who didn't deserve to die." My hands were still shaking, but I kept
