“You sure you don’t need a ride?”

Ayle doesn’t even spare me any glance as she is busy typing on her phone, “my friend will pick me up.”

“Who?”

She looked at me weirdly. We are currently in a café near dad’s office. The meeting went worse than we imagined. Maybe a cup of coffee will help.

I raised my right brow, waiting for her answer. As if she knows what I meant, she scoffed. “If you were meant to ask if it’s John, no, it isn’t. I don’t have anything to do with him, since the day you literally threaten me, okay?”

“You know I can tell if you are lying.”

This girl clicked her tongue. “Have a little faith in me, will you?” She then rolled her eyes and turned her focus back on her phone.

“Okay, I’ll choose to trust you this time.”
