I felt sick the whole ride in the Uber, checking the mirrors like Katya herself would pop out from the trunk, but eventually… we arrived, And I instantly knew this place was nothing like the underground subway we’d been to before.

The entrance was hidden behind an abandoned construction site near the river. At first glance, it looked like nothing, just cracked pavement, a rusted fence, and a concrete wall covered in thick, chaotic graffiti.

But as we walked closer, we noticed the faint thrum beneath the ground, bass vibrations, distant roars, and muffled music.

Ev grinned. “Oh yeah. This is the place.”

We hurried across the lot, passing rows of polished bikes and modified cars lined. Black, red, neon green, engines still warm and some owners leaning against their hoods smoking or laughing loudly.

The night air seeped through my hoodie, making me clutch the fabric tighter. “This is freezing.”

JosephineI catch on to the laughter that echoes from the kitchen. Ev hasn’t laughed as hard as this before and it wasn’t the fake one she gave whenever she wanted to get laid. This one was genuine…A small sly smile stretched on my lips as I crept down the stairs discretely, listening in on the two’s conversation. Pavel’s deep voice said something that I couldn’t quite catch but caused Ev to snort loudly. Then followed after, was the sharp hiss of sizzling oil and Ev’s loud squeal with cluttering of utensils.Typical Ev to be clumsy while cooking…I eased closer, peeking around the corner just enough for a view. Ev was standing at the stove, hair tied up in a messy knot, waving a spatula to the sizzling pan.Pavel chuckled lazily with a grin. He looked… relaxed and at ease while Ev, flushed slightly as she caught his stare before turning her attention back to the oven that dinged at attention.Pavel reached over sneakily, and snatched a piece of fried sausage from the pan, and Ev smac

Sasha The doctor’s penlight swept across my vision for what felt like the hundredth time.Left.Right.Up.Down.Another slow hum of approval vibrated from his throat.“I’m not blind.” I snapped, batting his hand away. “Move on.”He didn’t even look offended, just amused in that clinical way doctors get when they think they’re the only intelligent ones in the room. He scribbled something on his clipboard before adjusting my IV line.“Your cognition and reflexes are back to baseline,” he said, nodding to himself like he wasn’t stating the obvious. “No signs of swelling, no delayed concussive symptoms. The stitches on your ribs are holding well.”“Great.” I muttered, tapping on my cover sheets with urgency. He paused at the foot of the bed, eyebrow lifting. “You’re unusually impatient, Mr. Romanov?”I met his gaze with a flat glare. “I’ve been stabbed, shot at, blown up, and hit with a car. This-” I gestured to the room, the monitors, the antiseptic smell. “-is nothing. You hovering is

Josephine The world blurred around me, as I crossed the street with fast lunges. Dr Oliver seemed to notice this and began shuffling back before walking faster, slipping between pedestrians. My pulse screamed in my ears, fear coursing through my veins but I was fed up with being stalked by everyone. I need peace, even if I had to force it upon myself.“Oliver!” I screamed like a feral cat, startling people and myself. He didn’t look back, getting into a full sprint which fueled something predatory inside me. My legs pumped faster, pushing away things that blocked my path as I was dead set on catching him.Pavel’s voice roared from somewhere behind, echoing through the alley. “Jo! Get back here!”Oliver used the distraction. He swung himself up a chain-link fence and vaulted over it with terrifying ease.I lunged, grabbing the metal bars, the cold biting into my palms as I started climbing too. My hands slipped once, scraping my skin raw, but adrenaline kept me going.By the time I swu

Josephine “-We’ve got a problem.” Sergei’s voice announced through the phone speakers. My pulse thrummed, throwing the covers off my legs with furrowed brows. Sergei always sounded calm and collected but this time, his voice came out in a haste.Pavel’s gaze swept across the room, meeting my eyes briefly before speaking up. “What is it?”“Aleksei Novikov.” He rushed out. “The driver’s ex-navy from the 13th recon. His not just a random man planted, Pavel.”Pavel paused, his brows drawing together before realization dawned in his eyes. “The 13th Recon…” he muttered slowly. “That’s Gustav Sidorov’s old unit.”Evelyn frowned, glancing between us. “Who’s Gustav?”Pavel ignored her question, pacing toward the window with his jaw tightening. “It makes sense now. That bastard Gustav must be behind the attack.”On the other end, Sergei exhaled heavily. “That’s exactly what we concluded.” There was a low hum of car engine running before he continued.“ The cunt’s keeping his mouth shut, but it’

SashaThe sharp scent of antiseptic and the steady beeping of a monitor were the first things that dragged me back to consciousness…I tried to shift, but a dull, searing pain shot up my side, forcing a low grunt out of me. My throat burned when I tried to swallow, squinting from the white lights above.A shadow moved at the peripheral of my vision. Then a familiar voice spoke from the side until I could make it the face.“Pakhan…” Oma called out.I blinked again, forcing my focus to sharpen.Oma stood there, arms crossed, her usual composed face was etched with relief. “You’re awake.” She exhaled, stepping closer to the bed.I grunted again, trying to sit up, but a sharp pain in my ribs made me hiss through clenched teeth. Oma immediately pressed a firm hand against my shoulder.“You’re not in the right state to move like that…” she warned firmly, pushing me down gently. My gaze travelled down my body, IV fluids connected to me as well as the monitor that frequently beeped. A comforte
