‘Rest, Maliya, I will take care of us.’
Those words were so comforting. So sure that I believed her. Her voice was so familiar as she took over our bodies and did something I could never do.She escaped the Blue Moon Pack.
She got us out of the cell and into the summer air. As we walked out of the Blue Moon Pack’s territory, I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry and scream and, for once, maybe smile, a real smile. But she ignored my instincts and continued to run away from our enemy. We ran in no-man’s land. Only rogue wolves resided in these woods, and she was careful not to get too close to them.
Most of our journey, she took control, letting my body heal. We met some rogue wolves, and they offered us food and clothes. Soon Liya let me take control over and I got to swim and relax. Reminiscing about all the past traumas I had to undergo. After swimming, I sat under a tree to rest for a while, trying to get proper sleep.
‘Wake up!’ Liya ordered, and slowly I opened my eyes, feeling the cool air of the night. The moon made the forest into a blue haze as I slowly lifted my body and rubbed my eyes. Small ants fell from my chin and onto my hair as I blinked a few times. My body shook softly as I leaned against my hand, dumbfounded for a moment until I smelled them. My eyes widened as I looked at the three wolves in front of me, all of them baring their canines as they looked at me. The one in the middle shifted into a human and crossed his arms, and glared down at me.
“What are you doing here? You are in our territory!” he said with a growl.
My mouth opened to speak, but no words came out. I tried to form words, but nothing would fall from my moving tongue and mouth. I tapped my hands and pointed out to the forest and showed my neck as a sign of submission. The man looked at me, confused, “You can’t speak?” he asked., I opened my mouth and shut it as I tired again. But, I couldn’t, it was strange, I couldn’t remember how to talk. More of how to move my tongue and use my voice. I wanted to smack myself, but I couldn’t show that behavior as the other two men shifted and smirked down at me.
“What do you think, Beta Jack?” One of the men asked. “We just lost our last rogue.”
“You know damn well if Alpha finds out, he will kill us”. The one who first shifted said as he turned towards me. He crouched down and placed a finger on my chin, “She looks much better than the last one did, that’s for sure.
The Beta, the first one who shifted, slowly licked his lips as he looked down at me. A small smile fell on his face, “Lucky for you, little rogue, you won’t be dying today. But you sure as hell are going to wish you did”. I watched as the other two grabbed me by the arms and lifted me off the ground. My feet stumbled to walk at their speed as I looked around me as we walked through the dark forest.
We were going further into a territory I knew nothing about, and Liya was not happy in this situation. ‘I’m sorry, I failed y. ’’. I couldn’t understand why she was getting upset.
Where was I going? What was going to happen to me? I didn’t say anything or give any problems as I walked behind them. We couldn’t take on three adult male wolves; I didn’t even think we could take on one. The men walked me to an open area and towards a brown shed that looked as if it was about to fall. They opened the wooden door and pushed me inside. I could smell the rotting wood as I fumbled in the darkness. They opened another wooden door, and I could see a set of stairs. They closed the door tightly behind them as they pushed me down.
I thought to myself as I started to resist them. No! I just escaped! I wanted to scream as my feet touched a smooth, cold floor. I could feel tears fill my eyes as the men restrained me and yanked my body to the middle. Only then did I see a familiar wooden post. It wasn’t like the one my uncle h;d, this one was different. Instead of leaning on my knees, this one held my body up and encased it in the wood. My breathing picked up as I lay against the wood and looked around the darkness.
The Beta turned on a light and walked in front of me. His bottom lip pouted out as his finger slowly fell down my cheek, catching a tear that had escaped. “Don’t worry when the Alpha returns, you will be gone. Wouldn’t want to stretch you that much.” The man said and smirked. I looked at him, confused as he turned towards the other man, “Get the other”. He said in a cold tone.
We had this conversation every day, and every day it was the same. She looked at me and sighed softly as she shook her head, "Jane, just eat." I shook my head and walked towards the door. "What are you doing?" She asked as I opened the door, surprised to find it unlocked."Stop!" Amanda yelled and reached for my hand. I pulled against her hold and shook my head, "Okay, I'll get the doctor. But you have to eat your food!" She said, taking deep breaths through my nose, I nodded my head and walked towards the bed.Amanda held her promise and went to find Dr. Linn. I ate as much food as I could as I sat on the bed and waited for the Doctor. I pushed the plate away and then finished the milk carton. It took a while, but Dr. Linn entered the room with a small smile, "Someone has been telling me you want to leave." He said and raised an eyebrow. I nodded my head eagerly as I looked towards him, "Well, let's see if you are ready." He said.Liya growled as he took a step towards us, but she al
Raymond POVWalking out of the pack's hospital, I could feel Aero's sadness; neither he nor I felt comfortable leaving our mate in a bed by herself. I rubbed the back of my neck as I tried to control my confusion and anger. Even though she couldn't talk, her action made it clear that if she could, she wouldn't have. I could smell the fear coming from her, and I knew she was afraid of me. She only concentrated on me when the anesthesia was in her system. Never in my life have I asked or wanted a female's attention, but I wanted hers. I wanted to memorize her face, I wanted to hear her voice. There were so many things I wanted to do; I wanted to tell my pack that I was her mate, not someone who forced their mark on her. I was her true mate, and she was mine. 'Do you think she is upset with us?' Aero asked sadly. I only frowned and looked at my house behind the pack house. 'Why are we keeping her a secret? Why can't we say she's our mate?' He asked.Walking towards the wooden steps, I we
He gave me an encouraging nod, so I did what I did to Raymond. I wrapped my palm around the back of Dr. Linn's hand and held it as I stared up at him. Dr. Linn looked taken aback as he looked over to Raymond, who softly growled. He moved his hand from mine rather quickly, and I tilted my head. Looking at my hand, I wonder why I didn't feel the sensation that I did with Raymond. Was that a mate thing? I closed my eyes and groaned softly at the pain that was starting to soar in my body. "The medicine is almost completely out of your system. I would like to see if you can eat on your own and swallow fluids. But, first, can you open your mouth very wide for me?" He asked.Slowly, I nodded and opened my mouth, softly trying not to reopen the wounds. But Dr. Linn didn't seem to mind as he pulled my mouth completely open and shoved something over my tongue. Pain shot through my face as I tried to touch the wounds at the edge of my lips. Whatever was in my mouth was gone now, and Dr Linn wa
"I'm Alpha Raymond." The man said and offered his hand, and I looked at his hand and then back at him. He swallowed loudly and placed his hand down, "I wanted to personally apologize-" He started to say, but growled, "I want to." He stopped again as canines extended from his mouth. His body shook as a growl fell from his lips, "I'm sorry." He said after a moment. His hazel eyes turned light as he looked up to me, "I am so, so very sorry." His eyes glowed and were almost pure gold. His wolf, but before he could stare at me anymore, they started to dim back to his hazel eyes.Raymond waited for me to say something, but I only looked at him. After a moment, I reached out and touched his hand. I could feel my heart flutter, but nothing more as I gave it a small squeeze and released him. Raymond, however, looked as if he had just gotten the biggest prize. A smile fell on his lips and then fell off when he looked at me, "You didn't feel that?" He asked, I slowly shook my head and lifted my
Maliya POV When I woke up again, there was no tube in my mouth. The beeping was lower than before, but the pain was still there. I tried to control myself from wincing as I slowly opened my eyes.Everything was a haze as my eyes adjusted to the light. The first thing I saw was a tall box beside me, a green line moving up and down.Looking down, I could see something clipping my finger and tubes in my arm. Then, I looked around to see that I was in a pure white room. There was a thin blanket that rested over my legs and stomach. Even though it looked like two sheets were under it, I was freezing. I slowly lifted my head and winced, trying to control my breathing. After a moment, I sat up on the bed.My hands fell on my sides as I felt the heavy bandages over my skin. One on my hip, on my legs, on my arms, everywhere. Slowly, I leaned back and looked at the cube that was around my finger. After lifting the weight twice, I was bored with it. I leaned my head back and winced as I tried
Aeron's POVOnce my mate calmed down, I lowered my head and took in a few breaths. I placed a hand against the back of my neck as I stood up. So much rage has been inside of me ever since the doctor told me what she had endured. He had to use tweezers to pluck each silver strand he found. Using a heated blade, he also had to cut the dead skin that was left hanging on her back. The internal claw marks are what I was furious about. Doctor Linn knew better and allowed a woman to stitch up those wounds. "Alpha, if I may ask, who is this woman to you?" Dr. Linn asked once he disposed of the syringe, "If you don't know her mate, then there are no ties between you and this woman." He said. I watched him carefully as I looked at the woman. Slowly, I leaned back."I feel responsible for her," I said and turned towards my mate.Oh, how I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs that she was my mate, she was my everything. But I knew better than to declare her a Luna when she wasn't even awake.
