“Ugh, this colour doesn’t suit me,” Roxy mumbled, tossing the lipstick tube toward the corner of the mirror table. It rolls across the polished dark wood, clicking sharply against a heavy glass perfume bottle before finally coming to a stop.

We are currently preparing for Ryan’s birthday party at this luxurious hotel room. The space is massive, easily large enough for at least five people to sleep in comfortably without ever getting in each other's way.

  • Babysitting My Professor’s Son   CHAPTER 87

LiviaThe rain poured relentlessly all night.I barely slept, especially after Professor Sterling left earlier in the afternoon. Yet, despite the cold, there was something deeply comforting about the sound of the rain. Maybe because it felt like it was crying for my sake the tears I could never bring myself to shed.My mind drifted back to that same rainy day at the hospital when we were called in to identify my father and Jared. Even though their bodies were charred beyond recognition, small details like the faint pattern on Jared’s sleeve and the familiar shape of my father’s belt. What broke me most wasn't the sight of them, but my mother, as she didn't cry. Seeing her frozen in shock, I knew if I broke down, it would break whatever was left of her. So I swallowed my tears and kept silent, even though I wanted to brawl my eyes out.Even now, standing barefoot in front of the large window and watching rain droplets streak down the glass, I still couldn't cry. The only exception w

Ronan"And here is the walk-in closet," I gestured, opening the tall door tucked into the corner of the master suite.Livia nodded slowly. She was still wearing my oversized t-shirt from last night, the hem falling past her thighs. She sat on the edge of the bed as if she was afraid to wrinkle the crisp sheets, letting out a soft, trembling breath. After she told me about her family and the horrifying nightmare she lived through, something inside me broke. Before I even realized what I was doing, I asked her to move in with me. I honestly thought she would throw the offer back in my face, but she looked into my eyes and whispered yes.A heavy anger still burns in my chest when I think about what those monsters did to her. I strongly suggested reporting the case to the police, as this was a serious crime. But she shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks as she begged me she wouldn’t want to cause any more trouble.I wasn't going to let it slide. Not a chance. I was going to ma

Livia "My deepest apologies, sir," Doctor Ruth implored, "I had no idea you knew the young lady here.""Don't worry about it, Doctor," Professor Sterling replied, his firm grip on my shoulder never loosening. "I will take care of her from here."He guided me over to the small table beside the bed and picked up the plastic T-Rex toy I left there two days ago.A few minutes later, he led me down a quiet hallway to a room on a hidden floor. It was much bigger than the last one, with two large beds set up next to the one where Ace lay sleeping. He sat me down gently on the bed, still holding my arm. Then reached over, pulled a thick blanket off the foot of the bed, and wrapped it around my shoulders."Are you still cold?" he asked softly."No," I whispered."Let me get you something to eat or drink," he said, starting to stand up.I quickly reached out, grabbed his wrist, and shook my head no."Okay..." He slowly sat back down and took both of my hands in his. "Livia, your hands are fre

  • Babysitting My Professor’s Son   CHAPTER 84

Livia"Miss, can you tell me your name and where you came from?"A gentle voice pulled me out of the dark haze in my head. I sat hunched over on a soft, padded chair inside the small triage room, my entire body trembling violently. My teeth clattered together so hard my jaw ached from the cold and the sheer horror of what I had just done."Get me some dry towels, now!" the woman ordered a nearby nurse before turning back to me.She put on a pair of medical gloves and held up her index finger right in front of my face."How many fingers can you see?""O... o... one," I croaked. She raised three fingers now, keeping her voice low and calm. "And now?""T... th... three.""Good. I'm going to inspect your eyes for a moment. The light is pretty bright, so feel free to blink if you need to," she said gently.I gave a weak nod. A warm, blinding white light flashed over my eyes as she carefully checked them."Okay. Pupils are dilating well," she noted, clicking the penlight off and standing up

  • Babysitting My Professor’s Son   CHAPTER 83

LiviaI could not breathe. An overwhelming weight settled right on top of my chest, and it had nothing to do with Wyatt pressing down on me.It was the weight of their lies crushing the air out of my lungs.Total strangers. The people I've always called my family for the last nine years. Even when they treated me like garbage and made me feel like an unwelcomed guest, I endured every bit of it. I swallowed the pain, telling myself that at least I had a family and that I wasn’t alone in the world like so many other orphans. And the most devastating part of all was realizing that every one of them knew the truth from the very beginning. They practically put on a sick mask every single day just to put up with me. How truly pathetic!"Why?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. I didn't even have the strength to push on his chest anymore. "Why did you all lie to me?""Whyyyyyy, you ask? It's simple, really," he slurred, a cruel sneer on his lips. "We were fucking broke. And my mother nee

  • Babysitting My Professor’s Son   CHAPTER 82

Livia "What got you all smiling like that?" Roxy asked the second I walked up to where she and Ryan were standing.I glanced toward Ryan and oddly enough, he was already staring right at me, with a blank face. Either he has forgotten how he backed me into a corner and threatened me the last time we were alone or he was just playing a sick game and pretending none of it ever happened.I forced my eyes away from him, turning directly to Roxy."Can we talk for a minute? Just the two of us.""Sure. Be right back, babe," Roxy said, and leaned in again to press a loud kiss to Ryan's cheek. I had to bite the inside of my lip to keep myself from rolling my eyes right in front of them. She took my arm and pulled me a few yards away toward a shady tree. "What's up?""What's up?" I repeated, my voice tight. "You should be the one explaining things to me, Roxy!"She scoffed, etching back on the tree trunk. "Liv, you aren't making any sense right now. Could you please just be specific?"I turned
