Chapter 24

Where were we? My eyes couldn't make out the dark but as the vision cleared, the fear grew in me. Continous knocks on the front door, echoed in my house enough to wake me up in alert. My eyes quickly scoured everywhere for a clock that sat on the bedside table.

It read 2 AM in the midnight. Any sane person would not be barging on the door around this time except if it's an emergency but that would not be the case right now. I tried to go for my pillow but something unfamiliar touched my fingertips and because of my anxiety, I kicked the unfamiliar object, almost, off my bed while hurriedly seizing the clock as a weapon.

"What is wrong with you, Millie?!" Noah groaned as he sat up, glaring at me.
