I wrapped my arms around Kiara’s waist as I hugged her from the back.

She smiled and put a hand on my cheek, leaning into my touch as the two of us stood out on the veranda of the suite.

“Are you still upset with me?” I whispered to her. She had been quiet throughout the day, and I was aware that it was because I had reminded her of something that she was trying to forget. Though my intentions were to let her know that I wanted to be with her, and that I didn’t want to see my life without her in the future. My message seemed to have taken a whole different turn.
