I can see their big garden from here.

I turned at where Azril is, then I saw him standing and getting something on his drawers. My phone vibrates from a message.

Vince: How are you? Nasa trabaho ka ba?

Vince: I can't call you right now, I'm sorry. Babawi ako. I hope you're okay.

That money is for you, Lor. Kung kulang, magpapadala ako just tell me.

I sighed as I read his messages. Agad akong nagtipa ng reply sa kaniya.

Ako: I'm fine, Vince. I'm working right now. I hope you're doing fine there.

I want to ask him kung kailan siya babalik.

Take care.

I turned off my phone and put it in my pocket. Azrill was still busy with his books.

Dulce came.

I smiled. “I baked cookies for you, Azi.”

“You made cookies… for me?” may bakas sa kaniyang boses ang pagka tuwa at gulat.

“Of course, Azi. Para sayo. Here, taste it. Sana ay magustuhan mo. Just eat whatever you can,” sabi ko.

Tumango siya at umupo sa tabi ko. He started eating. Dire-diretso niyang kinain iyon.

“Is it good? I'm glad you liked it, Azi,” natutuwa kong sabi. I took a wipes and wiped his hands and mouth. He's still chewing and staring at the empty plate.

“I love it! Masarap!” sabi nito.

I chuckled. “Tomorrow, I'll bake again for you.”

“Thank you for the cookies, Mo–” he stopped and pouted.

“I'll finish everything you bake if you bake for me everyday.”

“Ofc course! I'll bake everything you want.” I comb his hair using my fingers.

“Thank you…uhm,” parang nag-iisip pa ito ng idudugtong. Bahagya akong natawa at napagtanto ang nasa isip niya.

“You can just call me Ms. Elora, or anything you want to call me, Azi.”

“Okay…but can I call you…” He tilted his head as he was still in his thoughts. He really looks like his Dad.

“What is it?” I asked because he's still not saying anything.

He sighed and looked down, then looked up to me as if he realized something. “Okay. I will just call you Ms. Elora,” tipid siyang ngumiti.

I nodded. “Azi. You can go back to your study now. Do you want something else?”

He shook his head and stood from his seat. “I'll go back to my study now. I'm already solved with your cookies.”

So I don't have a problem with dealing with Azi, I can sense that he's fine with me.

Time passed and I was still in Azi’s room.

Night comes and now he's finished with everything. He's done with his readings, study, practice solving maths and playing chess. There's a time when he's taking a break, we talk for a bit. I'm really already fond of him.

“Can you call Dad? I want to know what time he'll go home," Azi asked beside me, eating his dinner.

Azi wants me to call you.”

There was silence between us before he spoke. “Elora. Need something? At bakit ka rito tumatawag? You don't have my personal number?” sabi nito. I can sense the exhaust in his voice as he talks.

“Wala akong number mo.”

“Okay. I'll give you my contact number when I get home. Doon ka na tatawag sakin.”

I nodded even though he couldn't see it. “Okay, Aaron. Anong oras ka uuwi?” I asked.

There was a short silence again. “You want me to go…home?” My eyes widened with his response. It's not from me, it's from Azi!

“N-No! What I mean was, anong oras ka uuwi dahil iyon ang gustong malaman ni Azi,” I corrected. I heard him scoffing on the other line.

“I'll get home by nine. Will you wait for me too?” His husky deep voice was so good that I could listen to it all day.

I cleared my throat and stopped myself from that thought. “Yes, I will. Azi I will wait for you to come home,” sabi ko.

Muli itong natahimik bago magsalita.

“He will get home by nine, Azi. Let's wait for him,” sabi ko. He nodded at me and smiled.

I walked him into his bedroom. I arranged his dark blue bed and turned the lampshade on his bedside table. I looked at the clock and it's really nine.

“Do you want milk?” tanong ko habang inaayos ang comforter niya.

“No. We can just wait for Dad here with me. Don't leave until he gets here.”

I smiled. “Of course, Azi.”

Aaron entered the room with his coat on his hand, messy hair, and the sleeves of his polo was now folded to his elbow.

“Hello, Dad!”

He walked towards us. Even with his cold eyes, I can see from here that he is smiling at his son.

“Sleepy?” Aaron asked his son. Aaron chuckled and told him to lay down to sleep.

“Good night, son,” malalim ang boses ngunit bakas ang pagmamahal.

“Good night, Dad. Goodnight, Ms. Elora.” Azi smiled at me with his sleepy eyes.

“Good night, Azi. Sleep tight and sweet dreams. Ipagluluto kita bukas ng breakfast. Good night,” sabi ko.

Their eyes were on me now. Azi smiled at me. Pumipikit na ang mga mata. “Dad, I'll finally get a good sleep.” Those were his last words before he fell asleep. Para bang may kahulugan ‘yon.

Aaron stood and faced me. His eyes were tired and looked sleepy but his deep gaze was still there. I saw how he bit his lower lip and combed his hair using his fingers.

“We will talk. Come with me to my room.”

“We are so proud of you, Elora. You know if I was in your place and I experienced all of that, I wouldn’t survive. It’s just… it’s too much. But you, you are so strong that you got through it all.” Jane smiled at me sweetly, the sadness in her eyes showing. There was a softness in her voice, the kind that wrapped around your heart like a warm blanket, comforting and reassuring. “Auntie would be so proud of you. She’s not with you, but I know she’s always looking out and taking care of you. You grew up independently and yet you’re so successful in life now.” Kate said, her words gentle but firm, full of admiration. They comforted me, they hea

The first light of dawn crept softly across the sky, painting the horizon in pale golds and soft pinks. The world was still half-asleep, wrapped in that fragile silence that exists only before morning truly begins. I opened my eyes slowly, blinking against the dim glow filtering through the window.Aaron’s arm was still draped over me — heavy, warm, comforting. Azi was between us, curled up like a little kitten, his soft breathing calm and steady. For a moment, I just lay there, listening. The quiet hum of the ceiling fan, the faint rustle of the curtains, the distant sound of waves brushing against the shore. It was that kind of silence na hindi nakakailang. It didn’t demand anything. It just existed — gentle, patient, full of peace.I turned slightly and looked at Aaron’s face. His lashes rested softly against his skin, his lips parted a little as he slept. There was something so human about seeing him like that — unguarded, calm, vulnerable. Years had added faint lines near his eye

The drive from the cemetery was quiet. His thumb brushed against my skin once in a while, a small gesture that said more than any word could. The silence wasn’t heavy this time—it was comforting. It was the kind of silence that made you breathe slower, that made the world feel gentle for once.Azi was sitting in the backseat, humming softly as he looked out the window. His little fingers traced shapes on the glass while his eyes followed the trees passing by. His innocence, his laughter—it was the kind of light that made everything feel okay again, even after a day that felt so emotionally draining. After a while, Aaron glanced at me. “Do you want to stop somewhere before heading home?”I blinked, still lost in thought. “Where do you have in mind?”He smiled faintly, that familiar softness in his eyes

  • Babysitting the Billionaire's son   Chapter 81

The morning sun was soft and gentle as it filtered through our curtains, touching the walls with a faint golden glow. The air felt calm, yet my chest felt heavy. It was the day I decided to finally face the past—to visit my parents’ resting place again.“Where are we going, Mom?” Azi asked, his small voice breaking through my thoughts as I zipped his little jacket. His wide, innocent eyes looked up at me, full of curiosity.“We’re going to visit your grandmother,” I replied softly, smiling at him even though a small ache throbbed in my chest. “Remember what I told you yesterday? We’ll bring her flowers.”He nodded eagerly and wrapped his tiny arms around my waist. I chuckled softly, hugging him back. That warmth… It always reminded me why I had to keep moving forward.I’m trying. Every single day, I’m trying.Kahit na masakit pa rin, kahit na minsan pakiramdam ko ay bumabalik ang lahat ng sakit, I’m learning to accept it little by little.Because I have to.I have to accept the pain i

The sound of birds outside the window woke me up. Morning light filtered through the thin white curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Azi was still asleep beside me, his tiny hand resting on mine. I watched his peaceful face for a moment — his lashes fluttering slightly, his lips curved into a faint smile. It’s strange how something so small, so ordinary, can bring so much peace. For the first time in a while, I didn’t wake up crying. The ache was still there, yes — but it wasn’t as sharp anymore. Parang unti-unti na lang siyang nagiging kirot na kaya ko nang tiisin.I carefully got up, making sure not to wake Azi. As I stepped out of the room, I found Aaron in the kitchen, still in his loose gray shirt and pajama pants, busy frying eggs while humming softly to himself. The smell of coffee and toasted bread filled the air.He turned when he heard me. “Good morning, baby,” he greeted, smiling warmly. “Did you sleep well?”I nodded, rubbing my arms lightly. “Yeah… a little bett

“How are you feeling, my love?” Aaron’s voice was soft, almost a whisper, as he sat beside me on the bed. His hand reached for mine, warm and gentle, and he pressed a kiss on the back of my palm. His eyes met mine, full of concern and quiet sadness. I forced a small smile and nodded slowly. “Yes, I’m feeling a little better now,” I murmured, though even I could hear the uncertainty in my voice. Somewhere deep inside, I feel that connection—yung hindi mo kailangang alalahanin para maramdaman. I know they cared for me, that they loved and protected me when I was still just a baby, fragile and innocent.
