*Cade's POV*
“Can you believe we start senior year tomorrow?” Xander, my best friend, says as he hands me another beer. He and I have been best friends since we were little. We grew up neighbours at the trailer park and have been inseparable ever since.
“What the fuck man? Why do you have to keep reminding us? No more talk about school tonight. This is our last party of the summer so we are damn well gonna enjoy it.”
Brett nods and Jason says, “Personally, I plan to start by scoping out the fine buffet of pussy in front of me.”
I nod in approval and look over to the bonfire in the middle of the beach where most of the girls in Half Moon Bay are drunkenly dancing to the music in bikinis that don’t leave a whole lot to the imagination. The four of us get up and walk over to the fire. Before we even get there, girls' heads turn our way and they move towards us, eyeing the four of us up and down. The tricky part is not finding a girl that’s interested; they’re all interested. The trick is finding one I haven’t already fucked. If you fuck them more than a couple times, they get too attached.
As I look around, I feel a hand snaking around my waist. I find Mackenzie, the head cheerleader, with her arms around me and her boobs pushed up against my chest. She looks up at me through her very fake eyelashes and pouts when she says, “Hey baby.”
“Hello Mackenzie,” I reply shortly.
“So, I was thinking that maybe tonight we could have a repeat of last Saturday,” she says as she rubs her hand down my abs towards the top of my bathing suit. I grab it to stop her and push her gently off of me.
“I’m gonna have to pass.”
“Why? I thought we had fun together,” she says putting both of her hands on my chest.
I remove her hands again and say, “What part of ‘one time thing’ did you not understand?”
“But, babyyy,” she starts. Before she can finish her sentence I turn around and walk away. I knew she was the clingy type but I didn’t think it would be this bad. She hasn’t stopped texting me since and I’m getting really pissed off. I down my beer and look around. Nobody here interests me anymore but Xander, Brett and Jason all have girls hanging off of them. I see some random girl leaning over to fill up her drink, giving me a wonderful view of her ass. Fuck it. Might as well. As I walk towards her, she turns around and licks her lips when she sees me coming. I don’t say anything. I just grab her hand and she willingly follows me away from the party.
*Monroe's POV*It’s finally prom night. We all get ready at my house with the exception of Brett and Jason who are getting ready with they’re dates. Deciding to go along with the casino royale theme, I wear a tight, low-cut black dress with a slit up my left side. Maddy is wearing an a-line, v-neck red dress with a slit up the side and Charlie is wearing a long-sleeved off the shoulder, fitted green dress with, you guessed it, a slit up the side. Cade, Xander and Matt look hot as fuck in their tuxedos when they come to pick us up.When we arrive at the prom, all eyes fall on us. We know we look good and we don’t shy away from the attention. It turns out this prom did have fake poison martinis and nerf gun assassinations which were actually a lot of fun. It was even more fun because of the fla
*Cade's POV*We spend the rest of the rest of the week convincing everyone to come to Monroe’s party Friday. Naturally, they all come with the promise of free liquor and at the party, Monroe plays a little slide show of her and Maddy breaking down the entire incident, including the photo evidence and it finishes with Monroe saying, “If you’re like us and are sick of Mackenzie’s shit,” and then Monroe and Maddy together say, “Vote for Maddy!” Everyone cheers and Mackenzie storms off and out of the party. The party is a massive success and we’re pretty sure Maddy is going to win. When Monday comes around, once again neither of us wants to go to school. At lunch we discuss college, which is a topic Monroe and I have tried to avoid.
*Cade's POV*When we leave Maddy’s house that evening, I can’t help but feel like my entire life has changed in the last couple hours. I feel so emotionally drained but my heart still somehow feels complete. We go get Monroe’s bike and then head to her house. When we walk in, she feeds the dogs and then walks downstairs and pours us each a very full glass of very expensive whiskey. “I feel like you probably need this as much as I do,” she says as she hands it to me.She leads me back upstairs to the living room couch and she says, “What are you thinking about?”“A lot of things. I’m thinking about how stupid I was today and how I almost fucked everything up. Bu
*Monroe's POV*We’re about halfway through the semester and Maddy and I have strategically planned out her party at my house for next Friday which is exactly 1 week from today; the day of the candidate speeches. Our campaigning is going well and all signs point to one of us winning (preferably Maddy). All of the seniors are gathering in the gym to see our petitions. The girls start and Mackenzie goes first. Her presentation starts on the screen and she starts discussing her cheerleading history and ‘how much she’s done for this school’ and then she says, “Besides, the other two options are a girl who’s being cheated on and a girl who’s sleeping with her best friends boyfriend.” She clicks the slide and I look at the screen to find three pictures. The first one is Matt and I walking into a room together, the middle
*Monroe's POV*When we’re back in Half Moon Bay, we spend the rest of our vacation hanging out with our friends and relaxing before we have to go back to school for our final semester. When we finally go back to school, we barely make it to lunch and already all anyone can seem to talk about is the fucking prom.“Did you guys hear that Mackenzie is already going around calling herself our ‘future prom Queen’?” Maddy says.I snort and say, “I don’t even understand how that girl fits that much ego into her tiny body.”“She also said that nobody is allowed to wear gold because she’s wearing gold,” Charlie says.
*Monroe's POV*I wake up earlier than a sane person would on their vacation and decide to go for a run on the beach. I don’t wander too far because I feel like Cade would worry if I wasn’t back when he woke up, even though I left him a note. When I get back to the room and find him still asleep, I crumple the note and get into the shower. He joins me halfway through.“You went for a run,” he states.“Yeah, I did.”“What, my workout yesterday morning wasn’t good enough?” He says, wrapping his arms around my waist.“Well, I mean, both are good.”After our shower (which we take our time with), we both get ready f
