Lyric Adams pov

Getting brought to the huge packhouse and taken to who would be my savior, I opened my damp eyes. I was on my stomach and could feel someone tending to my back.

Unable to move, I heard a slight humming from the person applying cool, wet rags along with ointment to my back.

“Thank you, whoever you are,” I muttered.

A kind face appeared in my view.

“Hi Lyric, I'm Willow and will be in charge of training you. I saw what you did for your brother. That was very brave but all for not,” she said softly before returning to tend to my back.

“Is my brother dead?” I asked sullenly, and she said, “His body was thrown from the cliff…some live, others don't.”

“Rita did,” I mumbled, and Willow made a humming noise.

“She did, but was added by Ramsey, so she never reached the drop off.”

Swallowing uncomfortably, I exhaled deeply.

My brother Jaxon was strong, but I doubted that he would survive being thrown from a cliff after being flogged. I was thoroughly devastate

    Lyric Adams pov Hearing Willow's light snoring, I soon joined her in a healing sleep. Unfortunately, my body was healing, but my trauma was untouched, and when I awoke the following morning, I was in a detached mood. “How are you? Did your wolf heal you, um, downstairs?” Willow asked, and I nodded. “Yeah, I just feel a little sore, but it's manageable,” I said softly. “Let's go to the kitchen and start our day,” she sighed. After dressing in jeans and a tee, I followed her to the packhouse kitchen. I saw my old Alpha's red-eyed guard, and he instantly focused on me as I entered the area. Lowering my eyes, I tried to hide from the huge Lycan guard, but he started to stride straight to me. “Miss Adams, let me see your brand,” he ordered. Reluctantly, I turned my wrist and peeked at him to see his eyes widen. Without saying anything, he grabbed my arm and then turned abruptly.
