Gwendolyn stayed away from Kieran through out the rest of the day.

She succeeded in convincing herself that his compulsion made her act that way. There was no way she would be willing to let him touch her.

It was all bullshit.

She had her breakfast and stepped out of the pack house. She needed to find Cae. Her words earlier were still ringing in her ears, and something told her the healer knew more than she was letting on.

She was just about to head into the forest to her home when she spotted her.

The crazy woman was sitting on a thick tree trunk beside a cottage, conversing with several other women.

They all looked up as Gwendolyn approached them.

"Cae can I talk to you?" Gwendolyn murmured. "In private?"

The Wilding women glared viciously at her, and without a word, they got up and walked away.

"Come, child." Cae beckoned to her. "Sit."

"What's up with them?" Gwendolyn asked as she took a seat beside Cae.

"Apparently, you've made a few more enemies since you challenged Kan

"What have you done to her?" Julian growled. He strode angrily towards the table, his fists clenched beside him."Talon, get him out of here!" Kieran snapped. "What did you do to Gwen, you bastard?" Julian bellowed, eyes wild with anger. Before he could take another step, Talon tackled him to the ground, pushing him backwards. "Get off me!" He yelled, struggling to free himself. "Take him away, Talon!" Kieran roared. Talon restrained Julian's arms and forcefully dragged him out of the temple. "You hurt her! You bastard!" Julian's voice echoed shrilly as he was dragged away, and a moment later, the temple doors slammed shut. Kieran looked over to Cae who was huddled beside the table, muttering to herself. "Are you okay?" He asked. "I am." She nodded, then pointed to Gwendolyn. "There isn't much time. The venom needs to be out of her system before it does much damage.Kieran lowered his head and sank his fangs into Gwendolyn's neck again. Her blood exploded in his mouth and he

Kieran trudged hurriedly through the path leading to the Triad temple. Cradled in his arms was Gwendolyn, getting paler and paler by the minute. Her hand hung limply around his shoulders while her other hand dangled beside her She let out a strangled sound, like it hurt to breathe, and Kieran looked down at her. "Hold on." He whispered. "We're almost there."The pack members stared at him as he hurried past, their faces locked in surprise and confusion. It wasn't everyday they saw their Alpha show concern for anyone, talk more of his enemy. Kieran didn't spare them a glance. His eyes moved from the path before him to Gwendolyn's face, then to the path again. He knew what happened this time. When Shadow retreated, he didn't shield his thoughts, and Kieran saw everything that happened, including the first time he took control. It was almost like Shadow wanted him to see it. He blamed himself though, for drawing her blood and causing Shadow to take over. For the very first time,

"Little wolf, we meet again." Shadow murmured. Gwendolyn rose to her feet, all the while trying to keep her eyes from straying lower to the long, thick length dangling between his thighs. How was he so huge? "Give Kieran control." She said. "You weren't supposed to emerge.""But you called to me." Shadow frowned like her statement hurt him. "I didn't. It was an accident." She looked away from him, wishing he would retreat and give Kieran control again. She felt drawn to him, even more than she was drawn to Kieran. There was just something about him that pulled to her, that made her crave for his touch. She started to wipe the blood off her arm when he zapped across the tiny space between them in lightening speed. He grabbed her, his hands wrapping around her waist like vises. He slammed her into the wall, making her wince as pain shot through her back. "Did I hurt you?" He asked, hovering in front of her, his face so close she could smell the muskiness of his breath. She ope

Kieran's eyes were closed when she stepped into the bathroom. He lay relaxed in the bronze tub, his upper body gleaming wetly, his lower body disappearing under the soapy bath water. His long, dark hair lay in wet waves over his shoulders. He felt her presence and his eyes slowly opened. They zeroed in on her, raking over the t-shirt merged to her body. His gaze lowered, moving past her thighs and back up to her face. Without a word, he held up a bath sponge to her. Gwendolyn took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She moved closer to the tub and took the sponge from him. Their fingers touched, slightly, but that slight touch made the sparks of the mate bond erupt. She snatched her hand away, glaring at him as he smiled smugly. "Get to work." He murmured, then leaned back and shut his eyes again. She rolled her eyes and lowered to her knees beside the tub. The atmosphere became charged with a strange erotic tension, and she couldn't help but feel drawn to it. There was just

Gwendolyn remained on her spot even after the Wilding warriors trudged past, walking towards their respective homes and chatting with one another. A few minutes later, she spotted Ryder walking towards her. His lips curved into his usual smirk as he stopped beside her and sat down. He was sweaty. "You stink." She muttered. An amused laughter rolled off his tongue. "What did you expect, princess? Hunting isn't for the faint hearted. I'm sure you don't know anything about it.""Is that so?" She arched a brow. "I bet you grew up with dolls, flowers and teacups."Despite herself, she laughed. Ryder was the kind of person you couldn't really get mad at. "What do you want, Ryder?" "I like the way you say my name." He leaned close and smoothened the wrinkle between her brows. "Much better. You should smile more. Frowning dampens your beauty."She leaned away in surprise, wondering what had gotten into him. She noticed the unmistakable glint in his eyes, the same one that appeared in Ju

Gwendolyn felt a wave of dizziness as blood rushed up her head. She looked at Cae silently, wondering if she heard her correctly. "What did you say?" She questioned, in a voice barely above a whisper. "Isn't that what you've always hoped for?" Cae murmured. "That she would be alive so you could find her?""How do you know this? Where is she?""I have no idea where she is." Cae shrugged. "I have never seen her.""But you said...""I said she's still alive." Cae cut her off. "I didn't say I know where she is. I see things, child, and when I healed you, when I touched you, I saw things.""What did you see?""You wouldn't understand if I tell you." Cae shook her head. "I still don't understand what I saw. I only know she's alive. Finding her is up to you.""How can I find her when I'm trapped here?" Gwendolyn asked, clearly frustrated. "When everyone here despises me. How do I find her?"Cae didn't answer. Her dark eyes looked distant, like her thoughts were faraway. "If you can't ans
