The large silver gate with the insignia of the wolf and two cross swords at the center opened, several black cars entered the Wereville Village, the long road passed the lively lights and the loud people. Luxury defines the village itself, from townhouses, condominiums and branded establishments you may think that this place is one of the central districts of the city. As the drive continues, from the view of modernity switches to a quiet wood path that is not that much known from the passersby.
The heart of this forest pathlike is the main Mansion of the Yngvirds. Hidden from the eyes of the villagers, enclosed with the steel gate guarded by the armed men. Behind those high gates reveals the large open field where the wolves run free and exercise their run, the scale stature clearly gives the growing view of the white mansion as they near it.
Maynard was greeted by the leaders of each family under the pack of Yngvirds who had all been lined up waiting for his arrival. As the soon to be leader, they all bowed as respect to the young Alpha, with confidence he walked and entered the mansion as the representatives followed him.
Behind the grand staircase of the mansion is a hidden door which they entered, each step downstairs the dim lights automatically turned on by its sensor providing enough light for them to guide. With the senses much sharper than a human he can just run down his way without the lights, but he chooses to walk at a normal pace. The bottom shows another door as a security, only selected people can open the door and it is only the immediate family in the Yngvirds who have the access. As the door opens, Irvin who has kept walking beside Maynard slowly kneels down and the other leaders do as follows.
Inside was a long furnished table covered with an expensive red linen embroidered in gold thread, each ten chairs on the side had the same red cushion, at the center was a man sitting in the black leather swivel chair slowly turned and faced the visitors. “Finally you came.”
“I greet the Alpha Marcus.” Maynard answered in respect to the older man.
“Stand up child.” signaling his hand at the empty seat on his right, “ and have seated everyone.”
Once all the audience had seated Alpha Marcus started the meeting without further ado.
“We have all known that there are humans who still want to put their hands on us werewolves.” looking at the reaction of all the leaders, he then continued, “This time, it is a threat to us since the rogues have been acting up again, I take no one to disagree if we take care of this one as early as possible before it gets harder to clean up.” His clasped hand slowly touched the surface of the furnished table.
A man on the left side slowly raised his hand, as permission to speak, Alpha Marcus nodded and he started to address his concern, “May I ask if this operation won’t affect our relation with “that” kin?” Referring to another kin, the other attendees look at each other silently.
“It is not a matter they should poke into, we deal with those threats to us in our way and they do what is their own.” the Alpha replied.
“The person in target has recently got a negotiation with their head, so I just want to ensure that this will not cause any disagreement.” Slowly replied by the man as to not offend the Alpha, carefully spoke his words out.
“I appreciate your concern, but this is under the Mafia association, and they have never meddled with matters relating to this.” with a firm determination, his absolute resolution for the matter is clearly stated.
“Maynard will be assigned to deal with those rats, I know that it will be smooth as if it has never happened or existed.” proudly looking at his son, he smiled confidently knowing how much he trusts the operation on his heir.
At an early age as thirteen, Maynard has been working secretly with the Mafia association, trained from a young age, he was born and raised worth it as the next Alpha of the pack. This has a strong hold with his reputation and respect from the other leaders of the family on their pack. The future generation of their race has a clear destination as they all follow the will of their ancestors and the Yngvirds have kept their oath of trust and loyalty to continuing the protection and flourishing the werewolves bloodline not to perish.
“I’ll ensure the matter will be closed clean father.”
Satisfied with the words of Maynard, the old man finally sigh of relief and the other leaders also agreed that the matter will be settled well. Then the agenda continues and the other matters with the business and the underground connections are dealt with. The long night and everyone were to retire when Alpha Marcus called on his son.
“Maynard, I heard that your brother and Irvin caused havoc at the training grounds last night?” With this, Maynard with his poker face, thought deeply before answering while his cousin Irvin who was waiting at the door looked away.
Truth be told, is that after the incident yesterday and pursuing the human girl named Barrett, the three of them almost got into a dispute that ended up into physical hitting and crashing at the training ground.
“If I win this battle of one against two, you will not interfere with my desire to have Adelaide.”
That was what Maynard had told them before they started to bare fangs and claws at each other, though the outcome is clear. They still wreck each other. Leaving some bruises and muscle pain, with their natural healing as pureblood werewolves, the fatality of the hits are now almost recovered as another day is about to end.
“It won’t happen again, father.” He answered clearly, dodging another question to be asked.
“I see.” He was about to breathe a sigh of relief that his father just let it go, however he spoke again that left him stunned.
“Don’t let me down son, you know that humans are not to be trusted.”
They were left by the Alpha and his cousin stepped closer, wiping the sweat on his forehead. “Do you think Uncle Marcus has an idea? We were dead tired last night and we slept on the bed dirty. I can sure that there’s no soul we speak of that matter”
“I know Irvin, it is not you or my brother.” slowly he clenched his fist.
……
“Looks interesting, he must have been working hard to be the next head.” It was Faera who broke the silence between the three of us.
“We respect and support him so I know he’ll do well.”
“‘ But aren’t you his brother, do you not have any desire at all? '' At the rare remark, Faera looks as if provoking Myrvinne, I could see that he tensed but still managed to remain calm.
“I do not, you said it yourself, we are brothers and I do not intend to clash fangs with him.” It was a faint smile and showed how much he looked up at his brother.
“Ah this is no fun, it would be exciting if you were more greedy.” Although it only meant to tease the siblings, her choice of provocation now is a bit odd.
Why would they need to clash?
Barrett was thinking, when the doctor called on to her and gave the medical result.
“Miss Adelaide, the cast will be fine to remove tomorrow, it was nice to see you recover fast but I suggest that you rest the sprain foot and still refrain from long walks for two more days.” said the doctor whom she also met the day she was brought here by Denzell.
“I see thank you Doctor, I’ll keep that in mind.”
“It’s a pleasure, I don’t see Mister Edelgard come with you today? Or are you with his assistant?”
“Ah no, I came with an acquaintance.” Disappointment was clearly shown on the doctor’s face however he still happily sent off Barrett.
As she stepped out of the hospital lobby, she wasn’t expecting him to stay, but here he is leaning at the red luxury car.
“I thought you went home already, you don’t have to wait for me”
“It was clear that Maynard said home and not hospital.”
“You have an important family matter, I can go on my own here.”
“If you really care, then just hop in now and let’s go.” gesturing with the open car door, he still assisted her to sit inside.
There was a brief silence between us, he was the first to break it.
“You are a unique one.” Is he referring to me or is he talking by himself?
“You, Miss Adelaide.”
“Barrett is fine, it’s weird calling me by surname.”
“Well, Miss Barrett, you are surrounded with weird people and keep attracting those not for you to eat.” This guy surely likes to use idioms.
“You mean weird people? And you are also one of them.”
“I won’t deny it's true, but I'm just telling you, don’t take Maynard seriously.” He then walked past me and then a few steps and looked back.
“It’s the best piece of advice I can give as help for you.”
Reaching the apartment he watched her figure slowly enter the apartment, in a few minutes the light on her room opened. It means his errand is done and can finally go after the mansion. About to open the car door, his senses sharpened and felt a cold chill. He looked around to scout, but no one else was there.
His vision thinned. Since when?
It was finally the end of the day and she rested her body at the single bed she has been using for almost two years since she rented out this small room. The toll on using the clutches and exercising effort to limp as she walks, she finally closed her eyes. Suddenly woke up, she didn't know when or how many minutes had passed as she fell asleep, she quickly got up and grabbed her phone. There were several missed calls from an unknown number, and ten messages. She thought that it must have been her step mother and decided to check it later. Scrolling up her contacts, she pressed the call button. A few rings, the call got through, “Hello, what is it?” It was the friendly voice of a woman on the other line. “Hi this is Barrett maám.” she called on the other manager in the store she’s wo
The building seems like a normal enterprise center where a lot of people come. The luxury brands, the latest trends in clothing and even the most expensive essentials that the riches enjoy. It is not usual to see celebrities , politicians and socialites running around each other. This is like their common ground. This is a perfect place for an auspicious day for the Yngvirds. At the lower ground basement, the car park aligned with the other cars. The men wearing black suits lined up and a man with a larger build and a scar on his face opened the car door. Wearing a gray long coat and the same hue suit inside, his face covered with an expensive brand of sunglasses that suits his sharp features. The attendant led them to an automatic door. Presenting his invitation to the attendant in front, he bowed with respect and opened a secre
The darkness covered the sky and the full moon is the only light that passes through the window. Two breaths heavily panting and responding after each squelching sound. The bedsheet is all wrinkled and the clothes are either tattered or lying on the floor and the chair. “Euhkk!” It was a weird moan coming from her as she felt her contracting insides being slammed hard and reaching to her limit. “Ah, you like it hard right? “ He smirked as he watched her face blushed and her mouth agape wide open for the pleasure of being rammed inside. With this, he grabbed both of her ankles and raised her legs to his shoulder. “W-wait! This position!” She protested however, it was futile as she was vulnerable with her legs open wide and her lower body raised.
Wearing an inch black shoes, a gray colored fitted pencil cut skirt and a tucked in light blue polo sleeves which she rolled up to her elbow so it won’t look like it is oversized on her. She had her hair tied in a clean ponytail, to touch up her appearance she decided to put on some face powder and colored her lips with her only lipgloss on the pouch. She grabbed her portfolio and went downstairs, her heart thumping not because she was nervous at the scheduled interview, it was more because of the man waiting for her. The air that surrounds him looks much more different, as she inches closer to him who is leaning at his car. “Oh, Adelaide.” he smiled and that made her heart flutter. She was reminded of the events yesterday. They went to the Grandeur mall, an establishm
The day of the interview, Maynard insisted on driving her on her way to the company which she firmly refused, however the two headstrong people collided. The only thing that he has advantage is his persistence while her weakness is her will to argue. In the end, he came early in the morning to pick her up. "Are you ready?" Maynard asked her when they were near the company. "Now that you mentioned, I feel like I'm starting to feel nervous." She kept her hands clasped together. "You can do it, so far from what I see, you're the type who is easy to be likeable." keeping the eye on the road he stopped the car in the drop off area, then he faced Barrett one more time. "Good luck Barrett, I
“Achoooo!” The current situation for him was quite difficult, he has been sneezing ever since the applicant named Barrett Adelaide entered the interview room. Is it his karma for teasing his boss earlier? “I’m sorry for this disgraceful act Miss Adelaide, but do you happen to own a dog?” he asked her, with a confused mind she replied, “No Sir, I don’t have any.” It was his only allergy in the human world, he thought that he would be friends with the man’s best friend, the cute little creature, however the fur makes him allergic so that he can’t even pat its head. “It was my only allergy that even the smell makes me sneeze.” He said, with these remarks he saw that her face grimaced, he covered his nose and mouth with a handkerchief to at least lessen the sneezing. “Do you mean I smell like a dog Sir?” it was clearly shown the offense on her face, that later on
“What is that mutt doing here?” It was Gerard who was looking out the window from the meeting room. Right after the screening process he immediately collated the selected applicants and brought them to Denzell as they waited for the Board of Directors meeting. “What do you mean?” Without looking at his secretary he continued to sign the papers without even checking it. “There is a werewolf at the waiting area, must have someone he knew here, but his kind shouldn’t be here in the open if he knew his position.” He smirked. “Who exactly is it?” he inquired of the man behind him, “Well, it’s none other than the main culprit why we are here right now waiting for the Boards.” With this Denzel knew who it was, the past incident that has been concluded in one of the exclusive estab
After the long meeting about the death of one of their business partners as well as the fact that the wolves are making their move, Denzell felt tired. He suddenly wants to visit the Pisces and Gem cafe that he went to last time, it is not like he favored the service or wanted to have a coffee. It was just his feet that brought him to the front of the store. Since it was a bit late when he got off in front of the office, he expected that the store was about to close. “What coffee would you like Sir?” He was greeted by the last staff remaining in the cafe. “None, you may continue closing. I was just actually looking around.” he smiled at the young man who was brightly looking at him. “No I can’t my lord! I mean--- ugh sir?” he paused for the slip of the tongue. “I
