Chapter Four

 DAMIEN ANDERSON

Katherine has a fire in her eyes I've never seen before, yes she was never meek as a wife before the accident, but when I looked at her a while ago she had this look that made it almost impossible to see her as the same Katherine I had known.

Ignoring that thought I checked my Rolex watch for the time as I am almost late for an important meeting.

I should have headed for the meeting first. I do not know exactly what brought me straight to that God forsaking house instead of avoiding her for as long as she wanted.

“Mr. Anderson, we are here” I heard my driver call out and turned my direction to his eyes on the mirror before looking outside and there was the office the meeting was holding.

As usual someone is opening the door and rush of feet could be heard as I took a step outside the car.

This is one of the office buildings owned by Anderson DC, the company I developed in my early twenties.

My parents were prominent people, very well and the name Anderson was known by everyone.

Countless people always thought I was arrogant for refusing to take on the construction company owned by my father Simon Anderson and decided to develop more into computer and so became a software engineer.

I wanted so badly to make a name for myself and now looking outside the building I can see that indeed I really made a name for myself.

“Good afternoon Mr. Anderson” My PA Maria greeted and handed me a pamphlet “they have been here close to 30 minutes” She said and walked beside me as we made our way inside.

My software company that began as a single building now have so many branches with over 300 thousand employees and that makes me the decision maker always very busy.

“Well then let's get to it” she nodded, and we made our way to the elevator.

For the past 3 weeks the only sound I hear of as soon as I come back home is the chatter of the kids, the sounds they make and the joy in their eyes when they see me back from work, walking into the house this evening and not hearing a sound tells me one thing.

“Welcome back Mr. Anderson” one of the staffs stepped out and took the bag I was holding and walked away.

My eyes trail the living room and how well organized it looked, it only meant one thing

I stuck my hand into my pocket, my eyes scrutinizing the whole place as they watch out for someone.

“I heard you are back” Inhaling deeply I turn around to where the voice is coming from.

She is sitting across the dinning table, a spoon to her hand and her eyes on me,

She gave me a sided grin before taking a spoonful of whatever she was eating to her mouth.

I close my eyes for a moment before walking straight to where she is seated.

“What lies did you tell them this time around” My hands still on my pocket I lashed at her eyes dim as they rounded mine. She cocked her head at me giving me a questioning look.

“I do not know what you are talking about” she interjected.

“Oh please Katherine stop with the lies already will you? What did you tell your family this time around?”

I moved so fast that I'm beside her in a heartbeat. Her hands shook making the spoon she was holding fall from them.

I eyed her down before my eyes went to her face and saw the fear matched in them

Katherine can be so many things, but I have never seen an iota of fear in those lying eyes of hers.

I took a step back my eyes making sure not to leave hers.

“Whatever lies you have told Katherine make sure you untold them and say nothing but the truth” I warned and without having her say anything I turn back to leave the diner.

“But I did not….” I heard her mumble but was already out of the place.

Katherine is a conniving bitch, the one person who will tell a thousand lies to as many people as possible just to hurt me

Oh, and she tells those lies with tears in her eyes making everyone who hears her believe her lies.

It is unclear to me why I married her. Even when I knew she was set on doing the opposite of being a good wife and mother, I still went ahead to get married to her.

Before getting to the room, I walked to the kids, opening the door softly I hear little sounds coming from there as they sleep soundly and closed my eyes to them, at least the marriage brought me three little angels that I love with everything inside of me.

Closing the door I walked out and went straight to the room and sighed as soon as I opened the door.

She had her stuff she came back with hung in one section of the walk in closet, and she didn't bother to close it.

The bitch.

I walked to the closet making sure to close them with a loud bang and turning around I see her on the doorstep.

“What the hell are you doing in my room??” I asked with a threatening voice.

“I thought…. I thought this was my room too” she said, swallowing hard.

“You must be dreaming, the accident has really affected your brain, get the fuck out of my room” I yelled at her.

She held the door for a moment before turning around closing the door.

We never had that type of marriage, with the both of us it was always war and fight and I do not know where she got the idea that our marriage was anything blissful enough

tired as the day activities weighed inside of me I stripped down the clothes and stepped into shower as I allowed the coldness of the water drip on my body.

One thing I know though is that my wife is acting strange, stranger than I have ever known her to act and so my mind is brainstorming on what could actually be going on?
