Chapter Six

It's been two days and I found myself cooped up in the room without leaving there. I just wanted some alone time to think, and I've been asking questions.

Yes, including shouting it out so that whatever spirit brought me to this place will give me some kind of explanation as to why I am here.

But as I said, I've had some alone time and that didn't change the fact that there was no one to answer all the thousands of questions I have brought forward.

I heard a sharp knock on the door and inhaled deeply before standing up to get it. I wasn't expecting the person standing at the door.

“Oh, my baby girl” the mother of the girl grinned, and then tears are rushing down her eyes as she embraced me tightly.

I'm still put in an awkward position, as I don't even know whether I should hug her back or not. She didn't mind and just kept holding me tight.

“This is the reason I wanted you to be with us, but it happened this way." she left me, and then her hands still on me, she gave me a thorough examination.

She turned me around and checked every aspect of me like she thought something was missing and wanted to make sure I was still in one piece.

“I hope you have been taking your medications?” She said, and I nodded “That is all I wanted to confirm, I know you will be alright” She hugged me again briefly and then let go.

As I said before, everything is just blurry from here, and I need some explanation, and now I've found her, I think she will do the explanation for me.

“Ma I have some questions,” I asked slowly to her.

“Ma??” She laughed, “Oh dear you are funny. Now I know you do, but I have some catching up to do and just thought of seeing you briefly, once everything clears off, I'm sure we will see each" She beamed at me, and before I can think of protesting, she is already finding her way out of the door.

I sighed, walking back to the bed, why am I here what the fuck am I doing with my life, here who is this??

These thousands of questions made me stand up as if I had had enough already. Dressing up quickly, I left the room and went straight to the living.

“Mrs. Anderson” The nanny of the kids greeted, standing up from her seat immediately.

She looked scared just by seeing my face as she was sitting on the couch. Her head is bent low, and her hands are jammed together.

“Good morning to you” She raised her head slowly and her eyeballs enlarged like I had said something that shouldn't be said. I shook my head and remembered I have a reason I was out there.

“Can you get me a cellphone? Maybe a computer” I asked her tenderly.

“Of course Mrs. Anderson,” She asked sharply and was already turning away as she did so.

I watched her as she left for the other room, and then she is walking faster to find her way here.

“The computer in the study room is working and the Wi-Fi password is written on the screen,” she said.

“Thank you very much” I smiled at her, and then I'm walking to the study room I saw her coming out.

When I turned back to look at her, she was staring right back at me like she had seen a ghost. What is that expression on her face??

Without mind, I walked to the study room, and I looked at all the stuff and the books, and seeing them brought livid happiness to my heart, I love books.

I settled down to the computer and after inputting the Wi-Fi password my hand itched at what to type.

The first search came to my mind and I typed rapidly on it and now information is displaying on the computer for me to see.

So much information on Damien Anderson and his family, his wife, and everyone closely related to him.

He was one of the Country's most eligible bachelors for a long time until four years ago, he got married unexpectedly to Katherine Jones.

It was stated that their marriage was full of love and made everyone wish they were in her shoes and some are alleging it was a marriage of convenience.

Staring at the computer now I don't even know what to say, I scoff, definitely not a marriage of love if he looked at his wife that way.

Also stated here that he is a billionaire who has wealth from investing in major shares of other companies after he founded his tech.

Something brushes past my eyes and I click on the link, the accident of Katherine Anderson. It felt like my skin pickled at the sight of it and when I clicked the video, I'm watching as she is packed up in batches and the car was brutally destroyed.

It was a miracle she survived, some comments had said.

There was something about the way she survived, there was something I needed to know, which made it possible for me to be here. This question pricked my mind so much as I clicked out of the system.

Now that I'm here I must have to find out the answer, but I cannot find that answer cooped up in that room without taking a step first.

I turned off the system and stood up looking into the sky.

“Whatever made you bring me here, I'm sure I will find that answer and the reason too”

Somehow inside of me, that was all I needed, and now I've found a breather.

With a smile on my face, I left the room and walked straight to the living room. Seeing me once again, she stood up from the floor where she is now seated.

Before she could greet me, I raised my hand to stop her.

“I need your help,” I said to her with a smile

“My… My help??” She stuttered through her words.

“Yes, your help. Can you please help me??” I asked her and after taking a look at me, she nodded.

“Good, now take me to the kitchen”

A surprise or rather shock flickered through her eyes, but she didn't oppose as she led me to the kitchen.

From today, I will start living as Katherine Anderson.
