Andrea muffled her annoyance and drank a glass of alcohol. She sat alone at the bar drinking some alcohol. The bartender pulled off his apron and climbed on his seat opposite her. He was done with his shift.
She placed the glass on the counter and glanced up at his face. She had been at the bar all morning after her little run in with her uncle. The bar served as her place of solitude whenever she wanted to clear her head. She sat at the extreme end of the bar, even if there was a crowd, no one would notice her. "What happened again between you and your uncle", he asked. Their relationship was a bit familiar after she helped him secure a job at the bar. Andrea swallowed the hot taste down her throat, her bored eyes barely registered anything. She was still dressed in leather pants and jacket, a scarf was around her head and her hair fell over her shoulder. Her mind was jumbled up with a lot of thought, hurting Antonio was taking away her sanity. She hasn't been able to gather enough evidence to put him behind bars. "Messy as always",She replied as she put down the glass. The bar was pretty empty. It was late afternoon. The bartender poured two shots of hot drink and passed one of the drinks to her." Maybe you should drop this idea of revenge and move on with your life, you are still young. I don't think you should pause your life this way". He advised her like he always does, but he knew she would not take it either way. "Eric, we have talked about this a million times and nothing can ever change my mind"She took a heavy gulp of the hot drink and her face contorted at the taste. "But you have a lot to live for, putting your life on the line isn't worth it" he said. Andrea tore her eyes away and said in an unbothered tone,"I've come too far to give up now Eric, nothing can ever change my mind." Eric sighed and shrugged." So how will you spend the weeks of absence they gave you? You should try having fun" he said. Andrea finished up the drink and smiled blankly."I'm just a pawn in their struggle for power? What's the use of having fun for someone like me". Eric reached out and placed his hand over hers." You can always reach out to me if you ever need anything". Andrea stared at his hand over hers and then at his face. He wasn't bad looking, as he stood about 6ft tall, with beautiful blue eyes and a sharp jawline, but although he'd been showing a lot of interest in her, he just wasn't her type of guy. "I know..." She paused as two figures entered the bar. Eric followed her eyes to see two people walking to the bar. Andrea had never shown interest in the opposite gender apart from drunk night sex. The guy laughed as the girl whispered into his ear. He seemed carefree and happy. Andrea's grip on the glass tightened." Pour me another shot of alcohol". He looked at her in confusion. Her once blank expression had morphed into an angry one." Do you know those two?" Eric questioned as he poured her a shot of alcohol. "I don't", she replied casually, her eyes still on the two. Eric could tell that she was lying but still nodded and glanced back at the two. * * * "Why did you bring me to a bar", Louis asked. He dropped his phone on the counter and glanced round the bar. Layla frowned and pouted up at him."I didn't know where else to take you to, you don't like it here". She then flashed a bright smile as he nodded. "I love it" he smiled. Lies! Louis secretly frowned. He hadn't eaten anything all day and here he was in a bar about to drink on an empty stomach, but he didn't want her to feel bad. "Bring over a few shots of your strongest alcohol"Layla cheerfully waved at the bartender. "Layla! You want to get drunk, huh?" His eyes roamed about the bar, which was fairly empty. Layla chuckled and nudged his shoulder, sighing a little,"Just loosen up and have fun, you might find a girl to do the deeds with." "Layla",Louis groaned, his face felt hot as the memories of the previous night flashed across his mind. She leaned closer to him and smiled. Louis quickly moved back in discomfort. The bartender passed her a few glasses of drink. She passed two to Louis, who just nodded. One of the waiters walked over and handed her a paper bag. "Thanks." She beamed and handed the bag to Louis. He looked at her in awe." You ordered my favorite hot dog." "You haven't eaten all morning, so I just thought that you might be hungry", she explained. A grin spread across him as he tasted it. "Gosh Layla! You're the best, I swear". He took another bite with a grateful smile. Layla grabbed her scarf and leaned closer to him." You eat like a baby". She smiled and gently wiped his lips. She giggled and dropped back the scarf, his tender green eyes dropped back to his food and he shook his head, dispelling his wandering thoughts. A crumb fell from his lip on to his shirt. He felt her eyes rolling down the length of his body. Louis wasn't bulky like some guys, he was lean and toned, his features were soft like a girl's. He had an attractive face and a beautiful jawline. Louis could pass for an idol. "Layla, are you okay?" Louis gently shook her thigh. She snapped out of her thoughts and her eyes dashed up to his. Her eyes fell on his hand that was still on her thigh. Louis quickly moved his hand away, but his actions caused her to smile. Layla shook her head, sighing heavily,"You're really good-looking. I wish I could date you"She winked. "Layla, stop teasing me"Louis groaned. "I'm just thinking about work". She took a slow sip of the liquor." Won't you drink with me?" She asked. "Of course", Louis replied, and she passed him a shot of alcohol. He quickly gulped it down and his face squeezed as the hot taste went down his throat. She giggled and passed him another shot. "Layla!" He groaned out but still drowned the drink. "Good boy".She smiled in satisfaction, meanwhile Louis grew anxious. He had never taken that much alcohol before, but Layla passed him another shot. "I don't think I can take any more", Louis complained. His alcohol tolerance was pretty low. "C'mon, just drink with me, it's not every day we get to sit out"She whined. "Layla, my throat feels dry and hot…" Louis complained. Layla scooted closer and touched his neck. He was momentarily stunned as her finger gently touched his skin. "I'm sorry, I made you drink too much"She chuckled. Louis leaned away and slowly suggested,"I think I should go home. I feel pretty hammered," he replied. The alcohol was having an effect on him. "Not so fast! I'm not done drinking and, besides, you don't like spending time with me, so let me savor this little moment." Layla stretched out and slowly sipped her alcohol. Louis' face was flushed, and his eyes looked so dazed. The effect of the alcohol was slowly hitting him. Glancing at his flushed face, her heartbeat accelerated. A few moments later, Louis landed his head on the counter and he closed his eyes. Seeing this, Layla dropped her drink on the counter and scooted over to him. Her eyes studied his features. She moved her fingers to his hair and then to his lips. "I've been flirting and showing that I like you. Why can't you like me back,"She kept touching his slightly opened lips. She knew she liked him a lot. She pulled closer and bent slightly, her lips approached his, closing her eyes, before their lips could touch, someone pulled her off.The next morning, Louis's phone rang as he made breakfast. Layla's name flashed across the screen. He picked up his phone and swiped over the answer button. He was already late for work and he had afternoon classes."Hi Layla," he said, and put the call on speakerphone and went on with mixing the ingredients for pancakes. He glanced behind him to see Andrea already awake. Her face looked a bit flushed, and her eyes stared blankly at him."Louis, we need you at the fashion house now for some photo shoot. Our orders have been doubling up, and so we have recreated some designs and advertised them while we are having an influx of demand."Louis shook his head, he had to be around for Andrea. He glanced at her and back at the pancakes. Her eyes were downcast and Andrea looked worried,"I won't be able to come because I need to go see my Aunt at the hospital, but I'll come in tomorrow."Andrea walked further into the kitchen. She stood behind him and listened to the conversation."Really! Yo
"Why are you here, Louis?" Her breathing seemed to pause as she looked at Louis. "Long story short, one Antonio asked me to wait here for you in this taxi… Andrea fanned her body with her fingers. She couldn't make sense of his words. Her eyes widened, and she banged weakly against the car seat. "Shit! Don't tell me that you have been working for Antonio. You approached me on purpose right." She gasped out looking worse as her face looked flushed more than ever. Louis sped off, ignoring her words at first. He was scared at first, but after seeing her in such a state, he knew he had to be strong for her. "Fuck you Louis, is that even your name?" Louis chuckled but kept his eyes on the road. "I don't even know where we are heading to right now," he said. His words only fueled Andrea's annoyance. She struggled to sit properly and when she did. She yelled with a little bit of strength. "Stop the damn car." She yelled out, but Louis ignored her. She struggled over the seat and
Andrea stepped into the bar and walked over to the counter. She noticed Eric was also sitting there, already drunk. His head was hung low as he sprouted out gibberish.Andrea glanced sideways and noticed he was just alone and drunk. She took the seat closest to him and ordered a drink. Her eyes moved to the bartender. His familiarity struck her, but she couldn't place it.Unlike her, her hair was loose and fell over her shoulders. Ethan turned to her side as he heard the chair scrapping against the floor.A small smile played on Eric's face as he noticed her. She grabbed the shot of alcohol and drowned it.Antonio had caught her kissing Louis. She couldn't get rid of the feeling of messing up as Antonio had found out that she played around with him. She didn't want him to be in any danger because of her.He might use that against her, and she would not let it happen. Louis won't be seen with her again. Eric scooted the seat closer to her and clung on her arm. "You smell so good, Andr
Louis blushed and looked away from her penetrating gaze. Her tall and slender figure leaned against the desk watching him.His mind drifted off to the previous day, and he felt a burning sensation in his chest as he thought about it."What do you need a loan for? Do you want to start a business?"she asked. Her eyes were looking straight at his. He was a bit startled by the sudden question.Louis shook his head, his mouth opened to reply, but he couldn't form any word as Andrea pulled him by the shirt. He stumbled a bit and ended up closer to her. Their bodies were touching, and her eyes lingered on her fingers clutched around his shirt. He stuttered out a meaningless word. His long blonde hair fell messily over his face."What do you need the loan for Louis?" She asked again. When she looked up at him, she could clearly see he was in a daze. She leaned closer to him and wrapped her hand around him and their foreheads touched.Louis's breathing quickened. "What do you need the loan fo
It was almost noon and the loan applicants started coming in but were in the waiting area. Andrea sat in the dimly lit office and went through the files. She was currently sitting in Antonio's office waiting for the loan applicants to start coming in.Reading the loan contract did nothing to ease her worries. There was no possibility that any of these soon-to-be debtors were really going to be able to pay off the loan. The office door opened and Antonio stepped in. He looked down at Andrea, who tilted her head to the side and stared at him.He tucked his hand into his pocket and stared intently at Andrea. The scar on his face made him look more dangerous and scary."What are you doing here? Are you here to supervise me? You might as well do the whole work." Her humorless voice rang out.Antonio looked at her with a small smile. "You remind me so much of my brother, but both of you are just gullible, you can't save everyone.""What do you mean by I can't save everyone? I'm not trying to
It's morning already. Louis felt the tension of everything weighing down on him. It's just a few days before Scar's men arrive. He blew out a breath. Last night was a mess for him. He couldn't take his mind off Andrea, and he also had to think about the loan today.Louis entered his bathroom in a trance. He had a bad feeling about today. His classes were in the morning, and he had a photo shoot in the afternoon. He stepped out of the bathroom and dressed up. Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and his Aunt May walked in.Giving him a satisfied look, she said. "Oh my dear, you always look like an idol.""Good morning Aunt May." Louis smiled and pulled her in for a hug.She wrapped her arms around him." Morning dear, I hope you slept well. I have made breakfast already."Louis picked his phone and backpack from the bed and followed her out of the room, closing the door quietly behind him."Aunt April dropped by and gave me this,"she said.Louis collected the piece of paper from his Aunt
