Genie drove into the parking garage, the tires of her car screeching. Anyone who could look through her windows would wonder why there was big scowl on her face.

Truth was, Genie didn’t know if to be sad or pissed. Neither on its own would be justified and the two emotions together made her feel like a bull who just saw a big red flag.

Why wasn’t her sadness justified? Well, she missed her own car. Her old slow, grumpy car. It felt as if a part of her had been towed away to the junkyard. But it was not justifiable because she had this Mercedes that rode like a charm. She couldn’t complain about the change in cars when she had this black shiny beauty.

And why was she angry? At the intersection, when there was a red light, a young boy, barely house broken, had been in a similar Mercedes. Just before the light had turned green, he had winked at her, and driven off. Leaving her way behind.

What was the purpose of owning such a gem
