Genie tossed and groaned and tossed again as she heard the door bell ring.

“Can you go get that?”

“I’m dog tired. Can’t we just let it keep ringing until the person gets tired?” Jake asked, his voice hoarse.

“It has been ringing for minutes now. I’m pretty sure the person is the persistent kind. I’ll go get it,” Genie said, rolling and falling in the floor.

“Is that how you wake up every morning? A roll and a thud.”

“How many nights have you spend here, huh? You should know by now.” Genie stood up, yawning and rubbing her eyes.

“Come back to bed,” Jake grumbled, holding her wrist.

“Let go of me.” Genie said laughing.
