Prologue

The six-year-old Eva was sitting on a bench near the entrance of the orphanage, waiting for her parents, again. Ever since she started understanding things a little bit, Eva sat on the same bench every single day. She was waiting for her real parents to come and take her back home. But every day, she gets disappointed. In her young mind, she thinks something is wrong with her. She thought maybe that is the reason her parents left her.

"Eva, come. You're adopted parents have arrived." Mrs Bernardes called Eva and waved her hand signalling for the child to come.

They went to the Head Office. The moment Eva walked inside the room, the face of the young couple lit up. Especially the woman. She looked so excited to have met Eva for the first time. Her eyes sparkle with emotions that Eva doesn't understand at her young age. The woman stretched out her right hand.

"Hi, sweety. Oh, you're so beautiful!" The woman exclaimed. "I'm Sara and this is my husband, David. We are your new parents." The woman was teary-eyed because of so much happiness. She's barren and her biggest dream was to be a Mom.

"I promise you, honey. You will have the best life there is." The man promised. But three years later, Eva experienced her first horrifying encounter with a man.
