"Ha! I won!" Harsh shouts in the middle of his mobile game.
Shruti smacks him on his arm with sheer annoyance.
"Why are you shouting?? And stop your stupid game! Meera is with us right now."
Harsh, as if a lightning bolt struck him, looks at me and then puts his phone away.
"I'm sorry. I thought that you guys are talking so I started to play a game." He gives a nervous chuckle, one that can make any angry person melt away.
But I am not angry. Hell no! I'm furious! Dhruv has let me come with him as his girlfriend but he shows no such interest in even talking to me. He is using a cold shoulder over me. And I don't like it.
Umm. But why?
Because... because I am not used to this cold shoulder and he should know better than to leave in the midst of people I know nothing about. At Least I know that Dhruv is a dick. But I don't know much

I gulp in the lump of my throat. I'm so busted right now. Surely,Ajay knows everything and will be telling his family about it.Ajay stares at me for a prolonged minute."Ajay? You were saying something?" Shruti asks, breaking the cold silence in the room.Ajay shifts his attention towards Shruti and opens his mouth to say something when long footsteps approach the room."It is getting late. We need to go." Says Dhruv standing a few steps away from Ajay who certainly looks displeased with the interruption. Or that's what I think.I never wanted to say this. But maybe I should be thankful to Dhruv today. He saved me a lot of times and didn't go for his usual fake flirtatious attitude."Okay." I breathe a sigh of relief and stand from the couch."Why so fast??!!" Harsh whines.
Never in my life did I believe that a person whom I hated the most and couldn't bear at all will make me cry. If someone a few days ago had told me that Dhruv Saxena's insult will bring tears to my eyes in the middle of the road, then I would have laughed out like a maniac. But here I am. Crying inside Lai's bathroom, putting the shower to maximum speed so that Lai can't hear my sobs. The water running through the stream is cold but my tears are burning like a hot spring on my face.I don't know why I am even crying! Is it because of the shower? Is it because of the heavy day? Is it because of my inner guilt for eavesdropping on someone's family business?I can't say. But the feeling is so bad that at times I feel like I must strangle myself.Me. Meera Adarsh doesn't like at all when someone gets the excuse to tell me or better, remind me what a failure I am. And
"What is going on inside that mind of yours?"I look at Lai and blink my eyes like an innocent child suddenly planted on the roof of earth."Who me? Nothing.""Doesn't look like nothing." Lai arches her right eyebrow.I sigh."I'm thinking over what you said earlier.""Okay. And what's the conclusion?""There is none. The family didn't look or sound very suspicious. Rather they were very warm and welcoming. Especially Dhruv's mother, Mrs Saxena." I stare at my recently well manicured nails. Hmm. They look good."Oh. That's great. Your future mother-in-law isn't a witch then." Lai smiles with her dreamy eyes flashing at nowhere in particular."Seriously? Shut up! Why would she be my mother-in-law? I'm not going to marry Dhruv Saxena."&nb
Dhruv's POV"Good morning,Sir.""Morning,Mr. Harris." I greet back,my eyes trained on the file."Sir, I have today's reports on our product sales." He keeps the file on my desk, knowing exactly what to do if I am busy doing something else."Fine. Dismissed.""Okay,Sir." He leaves the room, putting me alone with my share of thoughts. The land I wanted to get cleared is still under dispute. Those fucking government officials!I shove the file in my upper drawer and place my hands on my forehead. My head has been hammering since yesterday and doesn't seem to cease for my better half.Ten employees. I fired fucking ten employees because of their one mistake and put the other efficient ones in the lower sections of the office. Something they
Have you seen a real donkey? Maybe you haven't. Then try to look at the picture of the great Miss Meera Adarsh living with her bestie Miss Laila Sharma. You'll be satisfied for sure.Learning about the advantages of a sugar baby in the contract,I became overconfident. Lost all sense of mind and I guess the payback is pretty brutal.Being sassy and always having a comeback for my enemies is a quality I really, I mean 'really' admire about myself.Shocking? Isn't it? The Meera Adarsh, the brunette girl who has always loved to criticize herself to her death is talking about a good quality of hers.Let's just say, the situation changes a man. But I am a woman. Yet it still applies for me. Since the presence of female reproductive organs doesn't really change the fact that I am a tomboy and anybody can confuse me with a man after having a chit-chat with me. Reasonable
Silence…A breathtaking and nauseating silence lingers upon Dhruv and me. He stares at me for an amount of time and reason I can't explain nor understand. But it doesn't change my mind on thinking over the fact that Dhruv Saxena,The jerk Dhruv Saxena just asked me if I was alright or not.For any other person who doesn't know him, it'll seem normal. But I have known him for quite some time. He doesn't care. Especially for the people who work under him or with him. He only likes to order around and get his way.A hand holds my wrist and pulls me towards a body. A warm one.Even before I can think anything, strong arms engulf me in an embrace.I blink my eyes a few times to decipher what the fuck is happening. Is there a rescue team on the deck who give warm hugs?I hope I am right.&n
I stare agape at the old lady for a moment. Is she saying the truth or joking around with me?Dhruv's other name is Mimo? How can that brat have such a cute name?I think you shouldn't call him a brat since he's the one who saved you from your vomit party.Fine!Argh!Sometimes, I can't even insult this guy because of his good deeds. Does he have a Mahatma Gandhi version 2.0 too in his self?Possible."I know it sounds a bit out of place for you. But I have been taking care of Dhruv from his childhood. I am like his second mother. And I gave this nickname to him.""Oh,I see. That's...umm... very kind."Wow! What great words , Meera! Claps for you!Excuse me! If you invite your band party to play their drums inside your ar
I see Dhruv's expression turn from anger to regret. He made a girl cry after all. And not only a girl, but me! Me! Can you even believe that? I'm basically not a person to shed tears. But here am I, crying like an idiot. "Meera-I—" his hand grabs my left arm that's trembling with my lips."Just don't talk. I want to go home." I say and jerk his hand away. Emotions like anger, fear, hatred. All bubble up inside me like soda. I want to slap this guy so hard for judging me like this. But then again,he doesn't know my story, does he? I step inside the car and settle on the passenger's seat. I avoid any eye contact from him, trying my best to subdue my tears. Why did I even cry? Have I gone mad or it's the after effect of the sea sickness? Argh! I shouldn't have come with him today. Should have stayed back home and none of this would have happened in the first place. He sits beside me,his eyes roaming over my form. But I do
