Kaelia's POV

I didn't want to go.

When I received a text from Sandie inviting me to go wine tasting with them by 5 pm, I almost refused.

Apart from the fact that I had gotten a late invite, I was not in the mood for serious engagements. But she had added about five “please” to the text, and I felt it was rude to reject it.

Moreso, the only alternative to sitting in our suite, wondering what Freddy was doing and fuming about him flirting with Chioma, seemed worse.

So I changed into a more appropriate fit – flowy pants and a halter neck top – and headed to the spot.

I knew Chioma was going to be there. I knew that, but maybe I could fake my way through a couple of hours of wine tasting without clawing her eyes out.

The wine tasting was held in a courtyard shed, north of the eastern gates. There were about ten tables, each manned by a steward who poured with charming smiles and an enticing French accent.
