Kaelia's Pov There’s a special place in hell reserved for people who complain about the thread count of hotel sheets. And if there isn’t, I’m going to write to Satan and make a case for it personally.“Ma’am,” I said, my voice sugar-sweet and patience hanging on by a thread thinner than those bedsheets she was shrieking about, “we use a high-grade Egyptian cotton, I can assure you.”The woman—blonde, tanned, surgically sculpted from cheekbone to toe—crossed her arms, fake nails tapping against her Birkin like a ticking time bomb. “I specifically requested eight hundred thread count, and this feels like prison linen! I could exfoliate with this!”I smiled. “You could also exfoliate with sea salt and save us both the headache.”That one didn’t make it past my lips. Barely.Instead, I straightened my thrifted blazer—navy blue and a little too snug in the shoulders—and plastered on my guest service representative smile. The one that said, “I want to scream, but instead, I’ll help you bec

Freddy's Pov Some people inherit jewelry. Others, maybe an old cottage in the hills or a box of war medals.Me? I inherited a billion-dollar hotel empire, a boardroom full of jackals, and a lifetime subscription to family dysfunction.Montgomery Hotel Group wasn’t just a legacy—it was a leash. My grandfather built it from a single downtown inn to a global name, my father, on the other hand, nearly ran it into the ground with his mergers and vanity projects, and now it is mine to fix.Or choke on it.If someone had told me five years ago that I would be the CEO of the Montgomery Grand Hotel Group, I would have laughed in their face, probably with a glass of Scotch in one hand and a model in the other. Back then, my life was a rotating carousel of private jets, red-carpet events, and a list of flings long enough to make the tabloids salivate. Now? My life is spreadsheets, board meetings, and dodging my father’s matchmaking attempts like they’re sniper fire.Well, welcome to responsibil

Kaelia's PovThe wedding was a very private affair. There were not many guests. Just Freddy's inner circle and his father, William who stared at me from the front pew as if he would rather be at a funeral than his son's wedding. Then there was the couple I had paid to act as my parents. They'd nailed the part so much, I made a mental note to give them a bonus.“Mrs. Russo” even went as far as dabbing her eyes while her husband walked me down the aisle, wearing a proud smile.“You look so beautiful,” Freddy said to me when I reached where he stood.I couldn't tell if he was just playing his part or giving me a genuine compliment so I just smiled.I couldn't believe I was about to marry him. The days leading to today had been terrible. The only thing I had on my mind was if I had made the wrong decision. But whatever it was, I was too far to back out now. The vows were a blur of rehearsed lines. I didn't think it was all necessary since this was anything but a real marriage. But then,

Kaelia's POV The morning sun's rays cast long shadows on the polished floor.I stood in front of a full-length mirror, tucking my blouse into my pencil skirt. Plume International Agency, I scoffed. The lie had come out so effortlessly last night. But now, it just felt like a noose around my neck. Worse, ‘my husband’ was taking me to work. I had slept most of last night thinking rather than sleeping. Plotting. Freddy couldn't know that I lied. If one lie came loose, the others would follow too.I took a deep breath and stared at my reflection. I looked perfect - like a marketing consultant rather than a guest service representative. The thought of Freddy finding out my real job made my stomach twist. But what were the odds? The door opened and Sundae entered, “Miss Lilyanna, Mr. Montgomery is waiting in the car.”“Okay.” I hurriedly slipped into my heels and grabbed my bag which contained my real clothes, my guest rep clothes. Then I paused to breathe. I could do this. The hal

Kaelia's POV Two meltdowns in one day?Hell no!I was not paid enough for this shit. First in the morning, I'd had to deal with a woman thrashing her room because she was ‘mourning’ her dog that had passed away in the hotel. It had not been easy cleaning up the water that had flooded the room from her tab and the countless bits of paper towel floating in that water. And now this? For a moment, I considered Freddy's offer to quit my job.“You lied to me! You were with her all along! How could you? She's my sister.” A woman's voice rang out.Just a few minutes ago, I had been enjoying a rare moment of free time, walking the halls and watching guests checking in when I heard screams from upstairs.Room 258.Don’t get me wrong, drama like this was part of the job, but two times a day was really pushing it. I had gone upstairs as fast as I could only to find a young red-faced woman standing over a man who was slouched so casually on a couch, you would think he could not see her.“It's o
