Carlos’ POV

‘Was that really necessary?’ Vato growls at me as I turn my back on her and headed to the corridors, but I ignore him.

‘Of course, it was. She has no idea what she’s getting into,’ I bark back, but my wolf wasn’t having any of it.

‘If she insists on coming, I will reject her if that would keep her away from me,’ I say, my voice filled with promise.

Vato growls at that, ‘She’s our mate. You reject her, you kill the bond. You kill our mate,’

His words has me skidding to a stop in the middle of the hallway. I turn inwards.

‘What the fuck did you just say?’ I feel my aura slipping off of me, I could barely suppress it.

‘I have already rejected her once.’ I say to him.

‘You saw it yourself. She is our twin soul. This has always been meant to be,’ My wolf says with finality to his voice, and I simply scoff.

‘No. No, no, no. This is a mistake, I’m sure of it,’

Is this guy really stupid or what? He sees her uncle is a wolf why doesn’t he realize that makes her NOT HUMAN?
