Chapter 2

Author: Perfect Timing
The admin immediately tagged me. "Supergirl, it's your first time joining our overnight event, isn't it?"

"Yes," I replied indifferently.

"You're pretty cold—just my type!"

"So what if she's your type? You'll have to draw her first!"

Liam joined in the banter as well. "What's all this nonsense? Can you even handle the ice queen type? How about I break her in for you first, and then…"

He added a smirking emoticon sticker.

Everyone in the group chat started agreeing. "That's right! Sir Johnson has got to be the one who pops the cherry first!"

It seemed like Liam was a known veteran in the group chat.

It wasn't surprising, given the times he'd stayed out all night. Even if room assignments were random, by now, he must have experienced every type of woman there was.

No wonder Liam would refuse to get intimate with me for several days after his cycling trips. It turned out he was already full from sampling others from the streets.

I couldn't suppress the bitterness in my chest for any longer. Heavy tears started falling onto my phone screen.

At that moment, Liam just happened to walk out leisurely after taking a dump in the toilet. He shot me a disdainful look. "What kind of toxic content did you watch again? What's it telling you this time, how to judge whether your husband loves you or not?

"I just don't get it. I give you my paychecks on time, so where do you even get your grievances from? Forget it—I can't be bothered to argue with you. I'm going for a cycling trip tomorrow. You stay home and take care of Emily."

I wiped my tears and stared right at him. "Must you go?"

While I asked Liam, I was also asking myself if I really wanted to get myself involved in this matter.

Taken aback, he immediately snapped at me in disgust, "What kind of crazy fit are you throwing now? I don't visit prostitutes, nor do I gamble. I only have cycling as my one healthy hobby, yet you're still dissatisfied about it. You're really an unreasonable control freak!"

I was stunned, looking at Liam's twisted face. The image of the 18-year-old who once smiled at me shyly had suddenly shattered.

I clenched my fists tight, letting the pain of digging my nails into my palms remind me to keep myself calm. I then coldly spat, "You'd better stay healthy forever, then!"

"I'll damn well outlive you!" Liam pointed at me and scolded, "If you can live with me, then fine. If you can't, get a divorce! Stop making trouble out of nothing every single day!"

He then roughly kicked the trash can beside him. "How unlucky am I to have married such an unreasonable woman like you?"

I found it ironic that six years ago, Liam was the one dressed smartly in a suit and holding a microphone at our wedding venue. He'd gushed over how lucky he was to marry the woman who had stolen his heart since his youth.

At that moment, Emily came out, clutching her pillow and shivering. Her eyes widened in fear at the sight of the scattered trash. With a trembling voice, she asked, "Mommy, are you and Daddy fighting again?"

I quickly wiped my tears away and forced a smile. I then got up to pull her into a hug. "We're not. We're just rehearsing a skit."

Why just me?" he yelled, indignant."I'm not the only one doing it, and neither am I the organizer!" Liam thrashed around while yelling. He was desperate to drag others down with him in this."Enough! Stop yelling," the police officer chided. "None of you are getting

"I'm hearing the police sirens already, Gina. They'll be here anytime," an unfamiliar female voice chirped. "The livestream views just blew past 100 thousand, too!"The police officers arrived at Room 2115 before the crowd realized what was happening."We received a report on illicit group activity here." The three police officers surveyed the scene inside the room. They were all too used to the crying and chaos that ensued while catching someone red-handed."What illicit group activity?" Denise was the most agitated as she snapped back, "It's just a lovers' quarrel—there's no need to involve the police! You're making a fuss out of nothing, Gina!"The ladies exchanged glances. While they were itching for gossip, they still pursed their lips and chimed in to help. "Is this a misunderstanding, officers?""They're a married couple—how is this 'illicit group activity?' It's just a regular quarrel. Even if it got physical, it's still a family matter."At that moment, Liam's face blanc

I pulled out my phone and made a call. "Mom, bring Denise and the ladies from your dance group up to get some rest. I've already gotten us a room—Room 2115."Liam immediately started panicking. He lowered his voice and scolded, "Are you crazy? Why did you get everyone to come over now? This is a family affair. Aren't you embarrassed to have so many people know about our fight?"I shot him a disdainful glance. I couldn't believe he was already embarrassed—we were just getting started.Soon, my mom, Louisa Glenn, came to Room 2115 with a bunch of her friends, laughing and chatting as they arrived. Upon seeing Gina, she greeted, "Why didn't you go in, Gina?"Gina smiled but said nothing, merely gesturing for the women to step into the room.Mom looked confused. "Youngsters nowadays like to be mysterious."She then knocked on the door hard. "Jennie? Open the door, Jennie."Liam pulled me back when he heard Mom's voice. "You can't open it! We'll talk things out when we're back."I d

"Please believe me, darling. I was framed!" Liam explained with a pained expression as he hastily put on his clothes. "I was resting in the room alone when that pervert came in on his own with the key card. Either I was set up in some kind of honey trap, or that bastard was playing me for a fool!"He was fuming in indignation.I glanced around the room, taking in the women's lingerie tossed carelessly on the bay window, the men's underwear on the nightstand, and even an open pack of condoms.Even with all the evidence of cheating scattered in plain sight, Liam still instinctively chose to deny everything.I sighed before calmly stating my goal of the day, "Let's get a divorce, Liam. Emily will come with me."Liam stopped fixing his hair as he turned around to stare at me in disbelief. "Do you not believe me?"He was still trying to worm his way out of it, even with everything laid out for him. It only strengthened my resolve to get a divorce."What do you even expect me to belie

While a call for help might be ignored, a warning about fire would get everyone's attention. No matter what they were doing in their rooms, they'd definitely rush out to take a look.In no time, flustered male and female voices spilled out of the rooms."Are you still going at it? Do you want to die?""Why are you still putting clothes on? Just drape a bathrobe around you—it's more important to escape!"Sounds of doors opening one after another followed.Everyone poured out in a panic, but all they saw was us standing in the hallway, with no fire to be seen."What's going on?" someone asked, perplexed. "Who was the one screaming earlier?"I secretly flashed the fake Supergirl an "okay" sign. He immediately understood and timidly raised his hand. "I was the one…""Who the hell are you?" With their fun being interrupted, the crowd erupted in anger. "Are you one of us?"The fake Supergirl hurriedly ran to hide behind Liam. With a pinched falsetto, he weakly replied, "I'm Supergir

Just then, someone gently patted my shoulders from behind me.I took a once-over at the newcomer and nodded in satisfaction. I then handed the key card over before quietly retreating to a corner to get changed into my regular clothes.A blood-curdling scream came from Room 2115 20 minutes later. Liam, wrapped in only a bath towel around his waist, bolted out of the room in a panic. "Supergirl is a pervert! I want to change rooms!"He started banging on doors one by one when nobody paid him any attention.Several of his cycling friends were angry at being disturbed. They yelled, "Who the hell is it? Can't you see the 'Do Not Disturb' sign there? If you dare come knocking again, I'll go out and beat the crap out of you!"Liam was completely at a loss, his expression downcast. At that moment, someone walked out of Room 2115. Their face was painted ghost-white with foundation, with garish lipstick drawn onto wide lips—but at least they had a decent figure."Why did you run when we
