Chapter 4

Author: Perfect Timing
I arrived early at the cycling team's meet-up spot the next morning. Using sun protection as an excuse, I wrapped myself up tightly, not leaving a single patch of skin exposed.

Liam was slightly surprised when he first saw me. However, his attention was quickly drawn to the way the cycling outfit outlined my figure.

"Supergirl?" He extended a hand toward me. "I'm Sir Johnson."

Liam's eyes were overflowing with desire, and the image overlapped with what I saw on the surveillance footage yesterday. Another wave of nausea surged within me.

He quickly pulled out his flask and handed it to me, asking in a concerned voice, "Are you alright? Just give me a sign if you can't keep up later."

I snorted coldly deep down. The way he so naturally shared his flask with a woman he first met—he truly thought he was such a good Samaritan.

Someone came over and teased, "Oh, my. Sir Johnson just made his first move. What if you don't end up drawing the same room later? Wouldn't that be a waste, then?"

"Come on, what's important to Sir Johnson is feelings. He'll just set up his own date if the draw doesn't work out!"

The man shot Liam a knowing look, yet Liam pretended to scold him. "Don't scare the newcomer off."

The man shrugged casually. "What's the point of pretending when we all know what we're getting into here? I'm not as slick as you, so I can only rely on luck. But the thrill of having a mystery blind box reveal is truly addictive!"

Everyone was buzzing with excitement the whole way. Before long, we reached the mountain lodge, and everyone was eager to start today's draw.

Everyone only knew their own room number. Each room had two copies of the key cards. Under the leader's instruction, men and women entered their rooms in separate batches.

I heard that initially, women would enter first to create the illusion of men being serviced. Later, they switched it up so women entered last, just to crank up the excitement of the mystery blind box reveal.

In the end, women were nothing more than playthings for the crowd—yet ironically, many of them went along willingly.

I walked down the hallway with the key card in my hand. Several mountain bikes leaned diagonally against the doorways, and the silence was deafening.

I dug out my phone. "How's the preparation over on your side, Gina?"

Gina replied to me with an "okay" sign.

Out of nowhere, "Dancing Queen" started blasting downstairs. A group of elderly men and women was arguing at the lodge's front desk.

"Why can't we dance here?"

"We paid to stay here, too, so you'd better serve us well. Keep running your mouth, and I'll trash your place!"

Finally, someone spoke up in the cycling group chat.

"Where did this bunch of country bumpkin come from? I was just getting hard, but that damn music killed it!"

"You just can't get it up yourself, can you, Lowie? Whoever rooms with you tonight must be unlucky!"

"Bullshit! Do you think you're any better? You can't even do much without taking Viagra!"

"I wonder who's sharing a room with Supergirl. She's new—I bet she'll get excited the moment she sees it!"

"My roommate hasn't shown up yet. Who the hell drew Room 2115?" Liam's text suddenly popped up.

My lips curled upward as I read through their conversation. It seemed like fate decided to play along this time.

Stop yelling," the police officer chided. "None of you are getting

"I'm hearing the police sirens already, Gina. They'll be here anytime," an unfamiliar female voice chirped. "The livestream views just blew past 100 thousand, too!"The police officers arrived at Room 2115 before the crowd realized what was happening."We received a report on illicit group activity here." The three police officers surveyed the scene inside the room. They were all too used to the crying and chaos that ensued while catching someone red-handed."What illicit group activity?" Denise was the most agitated as she snapped back, "It's just a lovers' quarrel—there's no need to involve the police! You're making a fuss out of nothing, Gina!"The ladies exchanged glances. While they were itching for gossip, they still pursed their lips and chimed in to help. "Is this a misunderstanding, officers?""They're a married couple—how is this 'illicit group activity?' It's just a regular quarrel. Even if it got physical, it's still a family matter."At that moment, Liam's face blanc

I pulled out my phone and made a call. "Mom, bring Denise and the ladies from your dance group up to get some rest. I've already gotten us a room—Room 2115."Liam immediately started panicking. He lowered his voice and scolded, "Are you crazy? Why did you get everyone to come over now? This is a family affair. Aren't you embarrassed to have so many people know about our fight?"I shot him a disdainful glance. I couldn't believe he was already embarrassed—we were just getting started.Soon, my mom, Louisa Glenn, came to Room 2115 with a bunch of her friends, laughing and chatting as they arrived. Upon seeing Gina, she greeted, "Why didn't you go in, Gina?"Gina smiled but said nothing, merely gesturing for the women to step into the room.Mom looked confused. "Youngsters nowadays like to be mysterious."She then knocked on the door hard. "Jennie? Open the door, Jennie."Liam pulled me back when he heard Mom's voice. "You can't open it! We'll talk things out when we're back."I d

"Please believe me, darling. I was framed!" Liam explained with a pained expression as he hastily put on his clothes. "I was resting in the room alone when that pervert came in on his own with the key card. Either I was set up in some kind of honey trap, or that bastard was playing me for a fool!"He was fuming in indignation.I glanced around the room, taking in the women's lingerie tossed carelessly on the bay window, the men's underwear on the nightstand, and even an open pack of condoms.Even with all the evidence of cheating scattered in plain sight, Liam still instinctively chose to deny everything.I sighed before calmly stating my goal of the day, "Let's get a divorce, Liam. Emily will come with me."Liam stopped fixing his hair as he turned around to stare at me in disbelief. "Do you not believe me?"He was still trying to worm his way out of it, even with everything laid out for him. It only strengthened my resolve to get a divorce."What do you even expect me to belie

While a call for help might be ignored, a warning about fire would get everyone's attention. No matter what they were doing in their rooms, they'd definitely rush out to take a look.In no time, flustered male and female voices spilled out of the rooms."Are you still going at it? Do you want to die?""Why are you still putting clothes on? Just drape a bathrobe around you—it's more important to escape!"Sounds of doors opening one after another followed.Everyone poured out in a panic, but all they saw was us standing in the hallway, with no fire to be seen."What's going on?" someone asked, perplexed. "Who was the one screaming earlier?"I secretly flashed the fake Supergirl an "okay" sign. He immediately understood and timidly raised his hand. "I was the one…""Who the hell are you?" With their fun being interrupted, the crowd erupted in anger. "Are you one of us?"The fake Supergirl hurriedly ran to hide behind Liam. With a pinched falsetto, he weakly replied, "I'm Supergir

Just then, someone gently patted my shoulders from behind me.I took a once-over at the newcomer and nodded in satisfaction. I then handed the key card over before quietly retreating to a corner to get changed into my regular clothes.A blood-curdling scream came from Room 2115 20 minutes later. Liam, wrapped in only a bath towel around his waist, bolted out of the room in a panic. "Supergirl is a pervert! I want to change rooms!"He started banging on doors one by one when nobody paid him any attention.Several of his cycling friends were angry at being disturbed. They yelled, "Who the hell is it? Can't you see the 'Do Not Disturb' sign there? If you dare come knocking again, I'll go out and beat the crap out of you!"Liam was completely at a loss, his expression downcast. At that moment, someone walked out of Room 2115. Their face was painted ghost-white with foundation, with garish lipstick drawn onto wide lips—but at least they had a decent figure."Why did you run when we
