Then, she shifted her gaze. “Mothers, daughters, leaders, women of vision and power. Together, we can make this world a better place… one generous heart at a time.”

Polite applause rippled through the hall.

I clapped too, though my palms felt clammy.

“Today,” the First Lady continued, her hand gesturing toward the long row of golden boxes at the front, “we open our hearts and our hands to those in need. May your offerings reflect your compassion, your spirit, and your belief in a brighter tomorrow.”

Then she smiled, the kind of smile that had probably been rehearsed in front of a thousand mirrors. “And with that,” she said softly, “let the charity auction officially begin.”

The moment her words dropped, the atmosphere shifted.

Flashes erupted from every corner. Dozens of cameras lit up like a swarm of fireflies. I flinched.

Wait, when did they arrive?

I glanced around. Crews lined the edges of the room. Reporters. Cameramen. Even drones hovering above the chandelier.

It's just the preparation for her future responsibilities — she's going to inherit her grandparents' Kingmaker title. So, she needs allies, and that's what Lorraine brought her here for.

You don't have to worry though, I've published the last part of the Adele/Lorraine arc tonight.... The story line is shifting back to her revenge.

I know you don't like her, but her part is equally important for Adele's growth. Our Adele knows nothing about this new life and the responsibilities that comes with it. Someone has to teach her. I can't skip all of that and just tell you "Hello, Adele is now the Matriarch of the West family".

Adele~“Adele,” he rasped, clutching his ribs as he tried to stand. “It’s me. Please.”The guards tensed, ready to strike again, but I raised my hand. “It’s okay,” I said quietly, like a magnanimous empress. However, inside, I was giggling. He was here. Finally, we met. This was going to be fun. Hehe.Sarah, of course, nearly combusted. “It’s not okay!” she shouted, her voice echoing through the quiet street. “How dare he startle you like that? Beat him up! Stamp him! Throw him into the ocean! In fact, drown him halfway and let him crawl out by himself!”Her wild gestures had Emily doubling over. “This girl is insane,” she choked out between laughter.“Sarah,” I said, trying to keep a straight face. “He’s not worth the effort of an ocean burial.” I sighed dramatically, resting a hand on her shoulder. “After all, he’s still the father of my child. He’s here for me.”She gasped like I had just confessed to a crime. “You’re seeing him? After what he did? No, Adele, no! We are not doing

Adele~Arriving at Sapphire Bistro, the first thing I was given wasn't the hug I expected, but a free trip to Trendle. Reading the brutal comments, I didn't know whether to join in the laughter or cry.It was common knowledge that Trendle had the most destructive, savage, unforgiving humor online. If you trended there, it was either because you’d done something extraordinary or embarrassingly tragic. Unfortunately for Ryan, it was both.I scrolled, blinking back a mix of disbelief and amusement as meme after meme filled my screen. One had Ryan’s face edited onto a mop with the caption: “When your ex sweeps the industry while you sweep floors.” Another read, “Luxehaven: Where stars go to die.”I swear, I tried to hold back. I tried to be a decent person who had a tiny bit of pity for another human’s downfall, but no, apparently, I'd become soulless. Those on other tables halted their conversations, turning towards us, but I waved at them. “Carry on, don't mind us.” They smiled and

Five stars. It became the topic of discussion across the entire hospitality industry. If Coastal Sonata Retreat had earned those stars from the likes of Five Stars Circle of Taste and Wellness (FSCTW), The Oceanview Star Collective (OVSC), or even the Global Culinary Excellence Board (GCEB), the noise wouldn’t have been this deafening. Or if they had received a modest three-star rating from the Stars of Serenity Guild (SSG) – aka, the achievable dream for most – people would have nodded politely, offered congratulations, and moved on.But five stars? From them? That was unheard of.In the entire world, the Stars of Serenity Guild never rated more than fifty hotels or resorts. Ever. To add a new one, another had to be pushed down to four stars first. Those who held their five-star crown usually kept it for decades – massive industry giants with billion-dollar names, global empires that defined luxury. No one outside that circle had ever dared to dream of it. Most businesses only prayed

Adele~I didn’t think the event would ever end, but it finally did, and I couldn’t be more grateful.By the time we got home, my head was pounding from pressure, the weight of too many eyes and too many fake smiles. The moment I stepped into our bedroom, I kicked off my heels like they were weapons of torture and went straight for the bathroom, peeling off my dress as I went. I needed a long, cold shower to be sane again. My life was slowly drifting into a nightmare. I couldn't believe it. I thought marrying Detroit meant running my small resort and living a simple, comfortable life in his hidden villa, but no, I was thrown into a pit of pressure. This must be why Detroit had a quiet villa in the woods, probably to escape the crushing responsibilities once in a while. Honestly, that much responsibility on one person should be illegal! Thirty or whatever minutes later, I was out, threw on one of Detroit's black shirts and sat in the living room with my laptop, going through my ema

Adele~ The only thing in my hands was my mother's locket. Wouldn't it look embarrassing to walk back to my seat for my purse? God, how could I make such a silly mistake? Everyone was looking at me, cameras flashing already. They probably expected that my dearest mother-in-law must have briefed me and I was ready. I didn't know how much time had gone by, but I had to do something, so I lifted my chin, smiled at the cameras, hoping I was doing a great job. “I have no money worth more than what sits in this room,” I said. Surprisingly, my voice didn't waver. “So I offer something else.” My fingers brushed the locket in my hand. “This belonged to my mother — Lady Celia Harrington,” I paused, recalling what my brother had told me. He said that my mom used to have a foundation for widows and single mothers but after she passed away, it was closed down and Mia didn't bother reopening it. I raised the locket, “With this, I reopen her foundation for widows and single mothers. E
