Chapter 5

ผู้เขียน: Peachy
"Lydia?" The name was a raw, desperate whisper, the first sound to tear from my throat as I pried my eyes open.

The white light of the pack infirmary was blinding.

"You're awake!" Ethan stood up, his voice laced with concern. He looked like he'd been watching over me for a long time.

"My daughter," I pushed myself up. "Is she alive?"

"Don't say her name," he growled, his face hardening. "Whether she lives or dies... depends entirely on you."

My heart pounded. "What does that mean?"

"My men pulled her from the river," Ethan said, standing up. "But she's badly injured."

"Let me see her!" I tried to get out of bed.

"No." He pushed me back down. "First, you have to answer for what you did."

"What did I do?"

He leaned in close, his eyes dark. "Your jealousy almost cost me my only true heir. Lilith is in critical condition. She needs a Luna's vitality to stabilize her."

I stared at him, stunned. "You want me to..."

"Yes," he said without hesitation. "You will heal her. You will give her your life force."

"That could kill me!" I gasped.

"It won't kill you," he purred, a low, cruel sound. "It will just leave you... empty. Besides, you owe me this pain. It’s only fair. Otherwise, Lydia's life…"

A threat. A naked threat.

"Ethan, are you even human?" I asked, my voice trembling.

"Human?" He sneered. "The bond makes us more than human, Sera. And so does betrayal. Did you ever once think of my pain when you were with him?"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

I knew nothing I said would matter now. He had made up his mind.

"I'll do it."

"Good." He nodded, satisfied. "We'll begin immediately."

Twenty minutes later, I was in an ancient ritual chamber. Silver runes were carved into the floor, and moonlight streamed onto a Moonstone in the center. Lilith was already lying on one side of the altar, pale and weak.

"Begin," Ethan ordered the pack healer.

The healer forced my hand onto the freezing Moonstone. Across from me, Lilith took my other hand, and even in her weakened state, I saw the triumphant smirk on her lips.

The ritual began.

I could feel my life force being ripped from me, flowing through the stone and into Lilith's body. My vision blurred. A deep, chilling cold spread through my bones.

Across from me, Lilith’s cheeks began to flush with color. Her scent grew stronger.

He didn't spare Lilith a single glance.

His eyes were locked on me.

A twisted fascination burned in their depths as he stared at my pale face. He gently wiped the sweat from my brow.

"Does it hurt, my love?" he whispered, his voice a venomous caress. "Good. Remember this pain. The next time you think of betraying me, you will remember exactly how this feels."

"Enough..." I begged weakly.

"Just a little longer," he whispered, kissing my cold hand. His tone was cruel, yet he sounded like he was comforting a lover. "If you can't handle a little pain, how can you be my Luna? How can you deserve my mercy for that bastard?"

After another ten minutes, I was on the verge of collapse.

"Stop," the doctor finally said. "Any longer and the Luna's life will be in danger."

The ritual ended. I slumped into a chair, too weak to even speak.

"Thank you, Seraphina," Lilith said with a fake smile. "I know you didn't mean to hurt me."

Didn't mean to? She was still acting.

I ignored her and looked at Ethan. "I... need to see my daughter..."

Ethan walked over and lifted me into his arms as if I were a piece of precious porcelain.

He leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"See? You do still love me. You're willing to do anything for me." His voice was filled with smug satisfaction.

He laid me down on the bed, tucking the sheets around me as if I were a fragile doll.

"You disappointed me today, my Luna," he whispered. "You still care more about that bastard than you do about me."

"You don't get to see her. Not until you learn that your world begins and ends with me."

Seraphina's POVEthan stood there, stunned, staring at my trembling daughter. He reached out a hand but didn't dare come closer."Lydia..." his voice was broken. "Daddy didn't mean to...""She is not your daughter," I said, handing Lydia to Julian. "She is just a pup you tried to kill."Julian gently picked Lydia up, stroking her back."It's okay, little princess," he murmured. "The bad man can't hurt you."I stood up and walked toward Ethan. He looked at me with a flicker of hope, thinking I was about to forgive him.The sharp crack of my palm against his cheek echoed in the stunned silence. He stumbled, a red handprint blooming on his pale skin."That," I hissed, my voice shaking with a rage so cold it burned, "was for Marcus."He clutched his face, staring at me in disbelief."Sera...""And this one," I slapped him again, "is for Lydia."He stumbled back, a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth."There is nothing left between us, Ethan. Nothing but a graveyard," my voice was f

Seraphina's POVI turned. At the edge of the square stood a familiar figure.Ethan.He was a wraith in a suit too large for his skeletal frame. His haunted eyes were bloodshot pits of obsession, fixed only on me. The powerful Alpha I once knew was gone, replaced by this... ghost."Sera..." he walked toward me, his voice trembling. "Please, don't do this."Julian immediately stepped in front of me, blocking his path."Ethan Blackwood," Julian's voice was ice. "You are not invited.""I'm not here for you." Ethan's eyes were locked on me, ignoring Julian completely. "Sera, I have to talk to you.""We have nothing to talk about," my voice was flat."Yes, we do!" He suddenly fell to his knees. "I know I was wrong! I know it was all my fault!"The guests began to whisper, but my face remained a mask."Sera, please!" He scrambled toward me on his knees, a fallen king begging in the dirt. "It was a lie! All of it! I never stopped loving you! Not for a second!""Get up," my voice was flat, devo

Seraphina's POVThree months later.I stood in the rose garden of Julian's estate, watching Lydia chase butterflies. She was laughing, the fear gone from her face."Mommy, look!" She ran over, holding up a red rose. "Daddy Julian said this is for you."Daddy Julian. She called him that so naturally now."Thank you, sweetie." I took the rose. "Go find your dad. I have some work to do.""Okay!" She skipped away.I went back to the study and opened my laptop.A smile, sharp and cold as a shard of ice, touched my lips.I sent a single mind-link to the elders of my bloodline: Sell. Everything.Ten minutes later, I got a reply: As you wish, Luna.Julian was helping, too. His business network spanned the globe.Ethan's empire was crumbling, piece by piece.Just like he had once destroyed my family."What are you busy with?" Julian asked, walking in."Watching a show." I turned the screen to him. "Blackwood Enterprises dropped another 15% today.""They won't last much longer," Julian said, sit

Seraphina's POV"Mommy!"A small figure darted out from behind a door and threw herself into my arms.Lydia.My daughter. She was alive."I'm so sorry, my sweet girl," I sobbed, rocking her fragile body in my arms. "Mommy is so sorry. I should have protected you.""Don't cry, Mommy." She wiped my tears with her small hands. "I'm okay.""But we're together now," she said with a pup's innocence. "Uncle Julian said we'll be safe from now on."Uncle Julian?I looked up and saw Julian leaning against the doorframe, a gentle smile on his face."She's not hurt?" I asked."Just some scrapes and bruises," Julian said, walking over and crouching beside us. "A werewolf's healing is strong. She recovered well.""Thank you," I looked at him. "If it wasn't for you...""Don't thank me," he said, stroking Lydia's hair. "It's what I should have done."Lydia seemed so comfortable with Julian, not scared at all.As if he had always been her father."Uncle Julian bought me lots of toys!" Lydia said excite

Ethan's POV"Hahaha..." A wild laugh burst from my lips. "Lilith, you know what?"She stared at me, her eyes wide, as if I were a madman."You know nothing," I laughed, a broken, jagged sound. "You're a creature of ambition. You could never understand the pull of a fated soul. It's a fire in the blood. A law of nature.""What?""You don't know the feeling," I kept laughing. "That indescribable connection when two fated souls truly bond.""You're insane...""Insane? Maybe." I wiped away a tear. "But I know Seraphina will forgive me.""What?" Lilith couldn't believe it."Because it's true love," my smile turned gentle. "Not the shallow possessiveness you understand.""You killed her pup!" Lilith shrieked. "You pushed her daughter off a cliff with your own hands! How could she ever forgive you?""She will," I said, the certainty in my voice absolute. "Because the Goddess bound our souls long before we were born. She doesn't have a choice. I am her choice.""Hahahaha..." Lilith burst into

Ethan's POV"Take her down," I ordered again. The guards moved in, grabbing Lilith by the arms."No! Ethan!" She fought them with all her might. "The baby in my belly is innocent!""Innocent?" I scoffed. "So was Marcus.""That's different! This is your blood!"I stopped and turned to look at her."Lilith, let me make one thing clear.""What truth?""There is only one woman in this world worthy of carrying my heir," my voice was deathly calm. "Only one woman worthy of the title Luna. And it was never you.""But I'm already pregnant...""So what?" I waved my hand. "Take her away."The guards dragged her toward the basement."Ethan!" Her screams echoed down the hall. "You'll regret this!"The door to the pure silver cell slammed shut.I stood in front of the monitor, watching.Lilith pounded on the silver walls, her palms quickly burning."Let me out!" she cried.
