Se connecterThe day Kellan Reed became Alpha, the pack historian asked him who he was most grateful to. Everyone looked at me, the Luna who had given everything to help him get there. But Kellan's gaze landed on the Omega in the very last seat. "The person I'm most grateful to is Serena Morgan." The historian froze for a second and gave me an awkward glance. Then he handed Serena the white moonstone necklace that had been passed down for generations. It was an old White Moon tradition: whenever a new Alpha took power, he presented his Luna with the necklace as a symbol of the White Moon Pack. Every Alpha before him had given it to his mate. Until me. That was where the tradition ended. Serena looked flustered. "Kellan, I can't accept this. It belongs to your Luna." But Kellan fastened the moonstone around Serena's neck himself. "Evelyn is my Luna, but she came into my life after I was already whole. You saved me when I couldn't even control my own wolf. I'll never forget that windowless treatment room, or how we had to share the only bed. You were the only one who could calm my wolf enough to let me sleep." Serena's eyes went red, and she threw her arms around him. Her 10-year-old son, Leon, came over and asked quietly, "Uncle Kellan, does that make us your family too?" Kellan bent down and ruffled the boy's hair. The pack said nothing. Everyone watched to see how I, his Luna, would handle my husband's other "responsibility." I turned, took off my ring, and handed it to the guard behind me. "Send this back to the Blackcliff Pack. "Send a message from me. Tell them to recall every warrior stationed at the Ashford border and cut off all military aid between our two packs." Kellan thought Serena was the one who saved him. Then let her keep protecting his pack.

“Babe, come and look at this! I’ve just received an email from the company I applied to. It says I’ve already been hired!” Felix exclaimed the moment he walked into the house. His voice was full of excitement, he could hardly contain it. It was obvious he had been dying to get home just so he could share the news with me in person. I rushed toward him, smiling wide. “Show me, babe!” I said, my heart pounding with joy. He handed me his phone, and I stared at the screen. There it was, the email he had waited so long for. My eyes scanned the words again and again. It was real. No more interviews, no more waiting, no more rejections. He had gotten the job! Tears welled up in my eyes as I threw my arms around him. “Oh, thank God! Finally! Now we can start saving up for our wedding, the wedding we’ve been waiting on for so long,” I said, squeezing him tightly. We had been together for five years. Five long, beautiful, and sometimes challenging years. And now, finally, we could begin planning our future, our real future. A future with a wedding, a home, and eventually a family. “I will finally marry you, my darling,” Felix said, smiling as he leaned in to kiss me softly. My heart swelled with happiness. It felt like the clouds had parted after a long storm, and the sun was finally shining down on us. I could already picture myself walking down the aisle in a white gown, smiling through my veil as I saw him waiting for me at the altar. I imagined the honeymoon, the laughter, the joy. The day couldn’t come fast enough. This was the beginning of a dream come true. “So, when do you start working?” I asked, still grinning. “They said I can begin on Monday next week. I’m so excited, babe,” he replied. And I believed him. I knew this job would be a turning point in his life. He was passionate, hardworking, and incredibly committed. That’s one of the reasons I loved him so deeply. He never gave up, no matter how hard things became. My name is Ella Mark, twenty-eight years old. I’m the only daughter of Stephen and Susan Mark, two of the most well-known and respected people in our community. To them, I’ve always been their precious girl, their pride and joy. I grew up surrounded by love, comfort, and privilege. I met Felix when I was twenty-three, in my third year of university. The moment I saw him, I felt something shift inside me. It was love at first sight. There was something about him, gentle, sincere, and quietly confident. We connected immediately, as if the universe had designed him just for me. But when I introduced him to my parents, things didn’t go as smoothly. They disapproved from the very beginning. To them, Felix didn’t fit into our world. He wasn’t rich, didn’t come from a well-known family, and at the time, he didn’t even have a job. They couldn’t understand what I saw in him. But I did. I knew exactly what I saw, a man with a good heart. A man who respected me, loved me purely, and always dreamed of building a future with me. So I fought for him. I explained to my parents, time and time again, that he was the one I loved. Eventually, they agreed to give him a chance. They also offered to support our wedding financially. But Felix, being the proud and determined man he is, had something else in mind. “Babe,” he once told me, “It won’t look right if your father pays for everything, even our honeymoon. I want to pay for that part myself. I want him to see that I can take care of you. I want him to see that I am worthy of his daughter.” It was one of the many moments that made me love him even more. That’s why we put the wedding on hold. We waited. And now, it’s all finally coming together. The job, the plans, the dreams. The wait was worth it.I received a letter from the White Moon Pack begging for help. The letter bore the signatures of all seven elders, and its terms were even more blunt than I'd expected. They promised that if the Blackcliff Pack sent troops to drive back the vampires, the White Moon Pack would hand over half its territory. As if they were worried that wasn't enough, they'd added one more line at the end."Kellan has been removed as Alpha. The White Moon Pack pledges its loyalty to you."When I finished reading, it struck me as ironic. As if Kellan losing his title would give me any satisfaction. But whether he was Alpha or not had nothing to do with me.I had to focus on what was best for the Blackcliff Pack.If we let the vampires grow stronger, the Blackcliff Pack would be the next to face them.Besides, sending troops this time would win us half of White Moon's territory.I talked my father into it and set out with the Blackcliff forces.Three days later, the two armies met head-on.I stood on a high
Kellan's POV:The moment Kellan got back to the White Moon Pack, the Council of Elders stripped him of his title as Alpha.Without Evelyn's support as Luna, he didn't even have the right to remain in the council hall. When the wolf guards dragged him out of the hall, the jeers outside crashed over him."Look, isn't that the shortest-reigning Alpha in White Moon history?""He lost his Luna and the reinforcements over an Omega. Does he even have a brain?""You've ruined the White Moon Pack! You worthless piece of trash!"Every word was like a blade, slicing away the last of his dignity.Kellan kept his head down and hurried away, his fingernails digging into his palms. The shrill jeers rang in his ears, and the wolf inside him grew restless.A violent urge to kill, tangled with regret, rose from deep inside him.His wolf was on the edge of breaking loose.Without thinking, Kellan headed for Serena's clinic. But when he pushed open the door, the place was already half empty.Everything va
On the day of my mother's burial, every Blackcliff war banner was lowered to half-mast.I placed her favorite moon blade in the coffin. The blade had been mended, but the break was still clearly visible.A guard came up behind me and said quietly, "The White Moon Alpha has come to pay his respects and is asking to see you. Serena is with him."My father gazed at my mother for a long time and didn't look up."Take their weapons," I said in a low voice. "Then let them in."Blackcliff warriors stood in formation on both sides of the path to the tomb. When Kellan and Serena walked in, hundreds of long blades lowered in unison. The tension in the air made Serena flinch, and she instinctively grabbed Kellan's arm.Kellan pushed her away immediately. He walked up to the black coffin, stopped short, and looked at me."Evelyn...""If you're here to pay respects, stand over there," I said coldly. "Don't block the funeral procession."He staggered and licked his cracked lips."Come back with me.
[Kellan's POV]The pain from the shattered mate mark hadn't even faded when Kellan forced himself back to his feet.Evelyn had already turned away. The Blackcliff war banners snapped in the wind as the army escorted the black coffin and slowly withdrew north.Evelyn never looked back. She didn't spare him a single glance."Evelyn!"Kellan stumbled a few steps after her.Dozens of Blackcliff warriors blocked his path."Alpha Reed, that's far enough."Kellan kept his eyes locked on Evelyn as she moved farther away. "Out of my way."His only answer was the sound of blades being drawn in perfect unison.Dozens of swords came free of their sheaths at once and crossed before him, blocking his path.Kellan stopped short. All he could do was watch Evelyn and the black coffin disappear at the end of the road.He opened his mouth, but only ragged breaths came out.Evelyn had really left. She wasn't sulking. She wasn't waiting for someone to coax her back. She wasn't going to come home on her own
