Chapter Two- Ruin

Voices.

Laughter.

A camera flash.

I tried to move. My body refused to obey. My limbs felt heavy, unresponsive. Every nerve in me screamed, but nothing obeyed.

Then a door slammed somewhere nearby. Silence followed. Heavy. Oppressive. Terrifying.

When I opened my eyes fully, I realized I wasn’t in the glittering hall of the De Luca estate anymore.

Silk sheets. Soft, impossibly smooth against my skin. Dim lighting stretched across the room, casting long shadows on polished floors and elegant furniture. A faint scent of expensive cologne lingered in the air.

And I wasn’t alone.

A tall figure stood by the window, his back to me.

Panic surged through my chest. My heart hammered so violently I was sure it could be heard in the room.

“What… what happened?” My voice trembled, weak and barely audible.

He didn’t turn immediately. He moved with deliberate slowness, as though every motion had been carefully calculated.

“Your sister and my son,” he said finally, his voice calm but dangerous, “are more ambitious than intelligent.”

My stomach sank. My mind stuttered.

“I… I don’t understand,” I whispered, my hands clutching the sheets.

He turned. Slowly. Every movement precise, controlled.

Don Marcello De Luca.

Even closer than before, his presence was overwhelming. Calm. Cold. Dangerous.

“You were drugged,” he said.

My pulse slammed in my ears. My chest tightened.

“What?” I whispered, barely recognizing my own voice.

“They planned to disgrace you tonight,” he continued, his tone unnervingly steady. “There are already photographs circulating.”

I froze, my breath catching in my throat. My hands clenched the silk sheets so tightly I could feel the fabric cutting into my palms.

“They… they wouldn’t…” I stammered. My mind was racing, trying to piece together fragments of the night. The wine. Bianca’s smile. Lorenzo’s kiss. That fleeting glance from Marcello. The sudden dizzy spell.

“If I had touched you,” he said quietly, stepping closer, “you would not need to ask.”

A shiver ran down my spine. His words were soft—but carried a weight that made my stomach drop.

“The air,” he continued, “was poisoned with intention. Yet you remain… untouched.”

Relief washed over me, but it was short-lived. The dread that followed was heavier than anything I had ever felt.

“My sister…” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

“Yes,” he said, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. “Your sister. And my son. They wanted you destroyed.”

My fingers trembled as I pulled the sheets closer to my chest. My mind swirled, the world tilting around me.

“Destroyed? Why… why would they—”

“They underestimated you,” Marcello interrupted, his voice sharp, controlled. “And they underestimated me.”

I swallowed hard, trying to understand. My body still felt weak, my head swimming. The luxury around me—the silk sheets, the dim lighting, the faint cologne—made no sense against the terror twisting inside me.

“I don’t understand. They… they wouldn’t—” I shook my head, trying to process. “Lorenzo… Bianca… why?”

Marcello’s gaze didn’t waver. Calm. Intense. Absolute. He took a step closer, the sound of his shoes soft on the polished floor.

“Because what is mine… does not get humiliated,” he said.

The words hit me like a physical blow. My breath caught. My chest ached. I wanted to speak, to argue, to cry, but no sound came. My voice had abandoned me.

He studied me for a long moment, eyes unblinking. There was no warmth there. No comfort. Only power. Control. And a dangerous edge that I couldn’t place.

“You have been spared,” he said finally. His voice was almost casual, as if delivering a simple fact.

Spared. The word echoed in my mind. Hollow. Terrifying.

I tried to speak. “But… Lorenzo—”

“He failed,” Marcello said. “Your first love, the man you believed would protect you… he failed. But I will not.”

My throat went dry. I swallowed hard, feeling panic rise. “You… what do you mean? You—”

“I will ensure that nothing more happens to you. That nothing they planned can succeed.” His voice was calm. Controlled. Dominant. “Nothing. You are still… untouchable.”

The weight of it pressed over me like a shroud. Relief, yes—but it was laced with fear. Fear of him, fear of the world, fear of what I had narrowly escaped.

I tried to push myself up, to move, to stand. My legs trembled, my body weak. Marcello’s presence seemed to fill the room, closing in, forcing me back onto the bed with a subtle but undeniable pressure.

“Do you understand?” he asked. His voice was low now, almost intimate, yet there was an edge in it that made my heart race.

“I… I think so,” I whispered.

“You do not,” he corrected, stepping closer, close enough that I could feel the heat of his body. “You are vulnerable. My enemies are watching. And your so-called allies have betrayed you.”

My hands clenched the sheets. Betrayal. The word echoed in my mind. My sister. My first love. Everyone I had trusted.

“I… I don’t know what to do,” I admitted, my voice shaking.

He reached out, a single finger brushing a strand of hair from my face. “You do nothing. You survive. That is enough. For now.”

The intimacy of the gesture was confusing. Protective, yet possessive. His eyes locked onto mine, unyielding, and I realized I was not just under his observation. I was under his control.

“And if I don’t…” I whispered, almost afraid to finish the sentence.

“You will not need to ask,” he said. Calm. Absolute. Certain.

The room seemed smaller now. The luxurious surroundings—the silk sheets, dim light, faint scent of cologne—suddenly felt like a cage. But not just any cage. One gilded in power. Dominance. Threat. And maybe… protection.

Outside, the world had moved on. My reputation, my life, my love—all seemed shattered.

Inside, under his gaze, I realized the truth: this was only the beginning.

I was safe… for now.

But in that safety, I sensed the price.

And I was terrified to learn what it might be.

Chapter 48 – The One Who Broke the Circle The drive back to the estate was quieter than any silence Alessia had ever known. Not empty. Not calm. But sharp. Every second felt like it carried something unspoken, something waiting just beneath the surface. No one spoke. No one needed to. Because the truth had already settled in. They had walked into a trap. Not just any trap. One that had been built from the inside. Alessia sat beside Marcello, her eyes fixed ahead, but her thoughts were moving faster than anything around her. A traitor. The word repeated itself over and over. Someone close. Someone who knew. Someone who had given Lorenzo exactly what he needed. She felt it in her chest. Tight. Cold. Personal. Beside her, Marcello hadn’t said a word since they left the wreckage behind. But his silence wasn’t passive. It was calculating. Deadly. Controlled. His hand rested against his side, and Alessia noticed the slight tension there again. He had been hit. Not

  • Betrayed By My Sister, Claimed By The Mafia King   Part 4: Chapter Seven- The Trap

The night air was colder than usual. Not the kind of cold that touched the skin. The kind that settled deeper. Quiet. Unsettling. The kind that warned something was about to happen. Alessia stood beside the car, her arms folded lightly across her chest as she watched the men move around them. Everything was in motion. Quiet orders. Controlled movements. Weapons checked and rechecked. Preparation. But beneath it all, there was tension. Thick. Heavy. Unavoidable. Marcello stood a few steps ahead, speaking in low tones to one of his men. His posture was rigid, controlled, but Alessia could see it now. The slight shift in his shoulders. The way his jaw tightened just a little too often. He felt it too. This wasn’t just another move. This was something else. She stepped closer. “You don’t trust it,” she said. He didn’t turn immediately. “No,” he replied. “Then why go?” Now he looked at her. “Because if we don’t, he controls the next move.” That

Morning came too quickly. Not because Alessia had slept well. But because she hadn’t slept at all. Every time she closed her eyes, the same images returned. The gun. The sound. The sharp, violent crack that still echoed somewhere in her chest. The feeling of her hands pushing Marcello out of the way without thinking. The realization, only seconds later, of what she had done. Of how easily it could have gone wrong. Her body had chosen before her mind could catch up. And now… there was no undoing that instinct. She stood in the training room long before anyone else arrived, the cool marble floor grounding her bare feet. The room was quiet, but not peaceful. It held a different kind of silence. One that felt intentional. One that felt like preparation. Like something was about to change. She exhaled slowly, rolling her shoulders, trying to release the tension that had settled deep into her muscles. But it didn’t leave. Because this wasn’t just physical. This was so
