CHAPTER 150

Ethan's POV

My heart raced as I tried to block out the distractions. My aunt's words were too urgent to ignore, the kind of news that could shift everything. I glanced at Brian; his confusion was evident, and I could sense his bewilderment. I pushed my emotions aside and interrupted, “Aunt, come in! We need to discuss this.”

She entered with purpose, her expression serious. Without hesitating, she took a seat at the table next to me. The tension in the room was palpable, like the calm before a storm.

Brian leaned in, confusion still etched on his face. “What exactly is going on here? What troubles are we talking about?”

Before I could reply, my aunt dismissed Brian’s question with a wave of her hand. “The North isn’t what it used to be. My sources have informed me about the resurgence of the Blackwood Pack. They’ve been gathering strength, and it’s only a matter of time before they make their move.”

"Sources?" Brian echoed, skepticism creeping into his voice. He was clearl

CHAPTER 151Isabella's POVI took a deep breath the shakiness in my lungs showing the mix of feelings inside me as I faced the big oak door. It felt like a line separating me from a place full of hopes—hopes I wasn’t sure I could fulfill. The door towered over me, its surface covered with fierce wolves' detailed patterns that hinted at the strength held within these walls. Each carving seemed to throb with the weight of my family history a warning of the responsibilities waiting for me on the other side.I felt a mix of worry and resolve in my chest as I looked at my mother. Sitting in her big chair she had a strong presence and confidence that made me feel both safe and scared. Next to her was Nyx, a loyal fighter, her strength and loyalty clear in the space between us.“Come in, my daughter,” Mother said, her voice calm but strong. It pulled me towards the rough waters of my past a deep history and duties I had avoided for too long.Taking a deep breath I opened the heavy door. The

CHAPTER 149Isabella's POVI stood on the edge of the pack, my gaze drawn to the towering mountains in the distance. The peaks glimmered in the winter sun, a striking contrast to the heavy unease churning in my stomach.Despite their breathtaking beauty, those mountains felt ominous, casting doubts that settled deep in my heart. I barely had a moment to gather my swirling thoughts before a familiar voice jolted me from my reverie.“Hey! What are you doing out here?” Emily bounded up beside me, her cheerful demeanor clashing with the turmoil inside me.I flinched at her sudden appearance, a startled smile slipping onto my face. “I was… just looking,” I admitted, trying to sound casual, though my smile didn’t quite reach my eyes.Emily tilted her head, concern flickering across her features. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”“I just… I don’t know if I’m ready for all this,” I murmured, my eyes darting back to the mountains as if they held the answers I desperately sought.“C’mon! CHAPTER 148Isabella's POVI leaned back in the soft leather seat, the warm air inside doing little to ease the tiredness that hung over me like a heavy blanket after hours of driving. My mother, Serenity, sat stiffly in the front seat, her usually bright personality dimmed by the tiredness from our long trip. Her lively features looked worn out, a clear change from her usual energy. Emily stayed quiet in the backseat, staring out the window at the scenery, her face blank. Was she caught up in her own thoughts about this big change, or just reflecting my own tiredness? We had been driving for over twenty-four hours, and the quiet in the car felt heavy, wrapping around us like a thick fog. My mind, craving distraction, drifted back to Ethan, and a familiar pain, sharp and strong, settled in my chest. It was strange how often I thought about him, missing him, even during this big change. I could almost hear his soft voice, feel the warmth of his eyes, and see the playful sparkle when he

CHAPTER 147Elena's POVI felt the cold of winter creeping under my skin as Axel and I pushed through the deep snow. Every breath made a misty cloud in front of me, and my legs felt heavy like they were stuck in syrup. We had been walking for hours after Derek Blackwood, a name I had thought was just a story told among our people. But now, we were chasing that story across dangerous, snow-covered ground, following a path that seemed to go on forever.*Elena, can you keep going?* Axel's voice popped into my head, a reliable support in my growing tiredness.“I don't know, Axel.” I said, feeling really frustrated. “We've been tracking him for too long. How much longer?”“Just a little more.” he promised, but I could tell he was trying to sound tough. “We’ve come a long way, and we can go faster as wolves. Just think of what we might discover.”I nodded, but I felt my energy fade. I had prepared myself to handle the cold and tiredness, yet it felt like the snow was hiding my determination
