CHAPTER FOUR

Isabella's P.O.V

I felt held by steady arms, and then I was carried to a place and was laid down.

“How’s she doing?” I heard a voice, more majestic than I have ever heard in entire life.

“She’s coming up Alpha.” Someone responded to him.

“Make sure she wakes up.” The majestic voice said again.

Where was I? I tried to open my eyes but my eye lids seemed stuck in place letting darkness consume me.

Suddenly I saw myself in a church. Logan was saying the vows but the bride wasn’t me.

“Noooo..” I screamed trying to separate them but my hands went through them. Logan looked so happy, his smile was more beautiful than I have ever seen as he moved forward to kiss the bride.

Then the scene changed and I saw my father look at me with contempt in his eyes, he looked so disgusted and my mother behaved like I wasn’t there.

“Daddy….” I whispered, I couldn’t believe the look I was seeing.

“Take her away, I don’t won't have anything to do with such a useless daughter, she is of no use to me.” My father said without batting an eyelid, and then he turned and left.

“Daddyyyyyyyyy.” I screamed.

“She’s so pitiful.”

“She is a disgrace of a daughter “

“Our packs will never accept such a weak Luna.”

I heard voices all around me, mocking and blaming me with disgust.

“No that’s not true.” I said.

“Nooooooo…….” I sprang up from the bed but then pain shot through me and I was forced to lay back down.

I was sweating buckets and shivering all over.

“Miss, how do you feel? Are you okay?” A woman by my side questioned worriedly. I could see genuine concern in her eyes, it somehow gave me a sense of relaxation.

“I’m sorry. I had a night mare .Apart from my back pain I feel okay.” I replied “Where is this place?”

“This is the pack house, you were brought here yesterday by our alpha…….”She was saying but my mind was carried away and I remembered how I got here.

I clenched my hands in anger, How could they? How dare they do this to me? They were supposed to be my closest relatives.

“Oh no, Lyle go get me the dressing box, her drip has been disconnected.” I was brought back by the voice of the woman beside me.

My hands were bleeding, probably due to the force I used to spring up earlier or the clenching of my hands right now.

“Please release your hands miss, we need to fix the drip.” She said.

The Lyle lady came in and handed the box to the woman.

“Why did your Alpha save me?” I suddenly asked. I was sure I did not know who he was so why was he so kind?

“Ma’am……..,” The woman seemed startled by my question, “That’s just how he is.” She replied anyways.

“ That's how he is huh, ?” I smirked, I’ve learnt the hard way that there was nothing like a free lunch, even my parents raised me to bring them an alliance.

Throughout the process I kept quiet, as my mind wondered around processing the recent happenings, I tried to think of what the alpha would want from me and before I was able to ask for their pack name, they had left.

“Mama Luta, she looked so sad.” Lyle said as they moved around the corridor.

“Poor child, ”Mama Luta said, ”She must have been through a lot.”

Indeed I was a poor child; one no one wanted. In the quietness of the room, I indulged myself and my tears came gushing out like rivers. The pain of betrayal hit me so hard as I remembered my days with Logan.

We were inseparable. My parents reaction was the worst, I wasn’t prepared at all. They showed no signs and I wasn’t even able to tell until they blew up.

I cleaned my eyes and tried to think of what to do next, now wasn’t the time for crying. I wanted revenge and revenge I would get.

I should not have been able to hear them but my alpha genes made it possible.

I looked around for any form of weapon I could use to defend myself in case of anything, and I saw a syringe. It would not do much but I held it any way, I didn’t want to be caught off guard again.

I looked outside through the window and the sky looked dull, it must already evening. It meant I have been here for a day. And no one came to look for me.

I smiled sadly as I looked out the window. The betrayal from my family wasn’t something I was sure I could take.

Throughout, Servants were attending to my every needs and were coming to check up on me every minute. It was like I was their queen or something.

This made me more alert and I hoped the

alpha wasn’t going to ask for more than I could give, I didn’t want to be mean to my life saver.

While still thinking, I slept off.

What could a pampered princess do?

“Miss, Its time for dinner. The alpha requires you have dinner with him in the dinning room.” A voice I recognized as Lyle’s, the girl from earlier woke me up.

“Okay let me freshen up. I’ll be there in a short while.” I said as I stood up. My wolf had healed me and I could walk now.

However she stood there without moving an inch. She didn’t want to watch me freshen up did she? Were they that scared that I would run? My eyes turned cold and I faced her with a questioning gaze.

My gaze seemed to have worked cause she excused herself and went out. I spotted the bathroom and went inside.

After some minutes I came out and saw a dress laid on the bed. I smiled in mockery as I remembered the state of my once “happily ever after” wedding gown. Picking up the dress, I went to the dressing room.

The dress suited me perfectly and I was surprised how he chose it or he probably sent someone to buy it, why do I care? Moving out of the room I found myself on a very long corridor. I walked for a while before realizing that I was lost.

I shouldn’t have scared that lady off, now I

was lost. I tried to locate my room but that seemed to worsen the situation and I just kept walking before I finally smelled the scent of food. My stomach growled in response and

I blushed in embarrassment as the sound echoed in the hallway. I hadn’t eaten since yesterday.

I traced the scent to the kitchen.

“Miss, is there something you want?” A brown skinned lady in an apron asked me as soon as she noticed my presence. This attracted the attention of others and they all turned to look at me.

“I wanted to go to the dining room but I lost my way.” I replied, flashing the best smile I could. I just hope they didn’t hear my stomach growl.

“Oh, alright then let me take you there.” The lady volunteered and handed over what she was doing to someone else. I smiled at them and they bowed in response then we left.

When we got there, she directed me to the table and pulled out a chair for me, she then served my plate and moved back when she was done.

“Thank you.” I said, then she bowed and left.

Now it was just me and the Alpha sitting at the table.

I turned my head to look at him. He had almond eyes that seemed to hold a lot of secrets, his well curved eyebrows and his perfectly sculptured nose complemented his already handsome face.

His appearance was the type fancied by a lot of girls but the smirk on his lips seemed to remind one that he wasn’t one to be toyed with.

He cleared his throat to get my attention. I used my hand to feel the syringe I had hidden in my underwear, after getting the assurance I needed, I lifted my eyes to meet his, not wanting to show any weakness.

CHAPTER THREE Isabella's P.O.VEver since I was a little girl, I'd had an irrational fear of the dark. I jumped at little noises that were most times just the creaking of my bed, and startled at sudden movements that were always just random items of clothing hanging off chairs or in closets. Now though, nothing about those fears were irrational or fake.Trees with long branches and sweeping leaves waved back and forth in the slight wind, and the wind made a high whistling sound as it wove through the dense vegetation, rustling the dead leaves on the forest floor. I hugged my arms to myself as I walked, the heels of my shoes sinking into the soft earth. I was suddenly yanked backwards by my dress and I screamed, whirling around and expecting to see someone holding on to me. I heaved a quiet sigh of relief and a titter at my own jumpiness when I saw that the train of my dress had simply snagged on a tree root. Sighing, I gripped the flimsy lace firmly and pulled taut, ripping it in t

CHAPTER TWO Isabella's P.O.VIt was late evening when I stood from where I'd lain curled up on the wooden floor. Silently, I put my hands up to my hair and tugged, sending the tiny pins holding my hair up in the intricate hairdo pouring to the ground. I tossed the veil pinned to the back of my head away, not even caring where it landed and walked to the small door at the side of the church. The little field outside was deserted and I thanked the Goddess for that. I wasn't sure I would be able to stand seeing any sneering gazes. Thankfully, the church was near one of the woods that bordered Ravensong and my parents pack, Stormfang. With a final gaze at the Ravensong Pack house in the distance, I trudged into the woods, the lengthy train of my dress dragging behind me sluggishly. I walked for what seemed like hours, but was really only just a few minutes. Stormfang was very close to Ravensong. My eyes were swollen with tears and they stung anew whenever I thought of what had happened

CHAPTER 1I felt a smile of giddy happiness stretch across my lips as Logan strolled confidently towards me down the aisle. Yes, he was late, and it wasn't customary for brides to wait for their grooms at the altar, but I couldn't care less. I was finally marrying the man of my dreams, and a little tardiness wasn't going to ruin my day. I expected to see the same look of unbridled joy on Logan's face or even one interspersed with a mildly nervous expression. When Logan was close enough for me to study, however, the expression on his face wasn't one I could decipher. Our eyes didn't meet as he came to a stop in front of me and the stately priest who cleared his throat self-importantly and began the ceremony."Cutting it pretty close, aren't you?", I joked in a whisper, smiling besottedly at the man who would make me the happiest woman on earth. His eyes stayed firmly affixed on the ground, not even giving the slightest response to my attempt at breaking the sudden tension between us
