LOGINNo… this isn’t how any of this was supposed to end.
I’m burning for justice, but there’s no one left standing with me. It’s just me now my own strength, and at the same time, my own worst weakness. There has to be a way to bring him down. There has to.
Zephyros… you absolute scumbag.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!*
My knuckles were practically screaming against the wood, but I wasn’t stupid enough to actually break his door down and bring his delta wolves running. I felt so powerless in that moment, more ashamed than I’d ever been in my life.
What the hell was taking the cheater so long to open his damn door?
He lived in this standalone house, nothing like how an alpha should surrounded by his pack in a proper pack house. I finally heard footsteps approaching, and I gripped my phone tighter, heart hammering.
“Why the hell are you here so late, baby girl?”
The casual way he said it made my stomach twist. Deep down he knew exactly what he’d done cheated on me, humiliated me yet he still sounded so composed, like none of it touched him. Did he have no remorse at all?
Fine. I’d drag those emotions out of him. Maybe he’d drop to his knees and beg for forgiveness once I threatened to expose his infidelity to the entire pack.
“What the fuck is this…?”
Shoving the phone into his hand probably wasn’t the smartest move, but I realized that too late.
“Oh wow. That day…”
My jaw literally fell open.
Rage took over and I shoved hard against his chest. “What the fuck do you mean, Zephyros?! You cheated on me! What the hell is wrong with youI”
My words got cut off as he suddenly forced himself on me, kissing me without any permission. This wasn’t the sweet, understanding Zephyros I thought I knew. He’d turned into a complete monster.
“One thing…” He held my shoulders in a grip that made my weak struggles feel pointless, his alpha pheromones flooding my senses even though I didn’t have a proper wolf to respond.
“One thing I’d like to tell you, is that you’re completely powerless right now, baby girl. You didn’t leave your pack they accepted your departure with open arms, did you know that?”
“…How dare you…”
“I dare a lot of things, princess. But first and foremost”
I took the split-second chance to shove him off and snatch my phone back.
“That’s all I need to show my pack what a fucking cheater you are, Zephyros. I will do everything in my power to bring this alliance crashing down ”
“Oh boy… you really went there.” He cut me off again, then suddenly ripped the phone from my fingers and hurled it across the room with brutal force. It smashed into the concrete wall and shattered into pieces, the loud crack echoing through the house. The dent he left behind left me stunned.
“There goes your evidence~”
Right then, I broke. I started sobbing like a little kid on the floor, completely destroyed. All my proof was gone, smashed into the wall, and I had no one left on my side. Papa would’ve listened… he would’ve ended the engagement immediately. Mama would’ve held me and told me everything would be okay.
But they were both gone now, buried six feet under after that overnight funeral.
I heard Zephyros suck his teeth as he crouched down in front of me. I was a mess disheveled and broken on what should’ve been my birthday.
My body jerked away when he leaned in and sniffed along my neck. The disgust hit me hard… and so did the fear.
“Your scent… it drives me crazy, Nyra. If you’d just let me sleep with you, none of this would’ve gone downhill. Though honestly, I still would’ve made my arrangements to take over your wealthy pack.”
My blood boiled at those last words. Not my pack. Not the people I loved and grew up with. Even if some of the elders and higher-ups didn’t care for me, the pups and omegas still did.
“Oh… I know that look, sweetheart.” I’d stopped crying. Now I was just glaring at him with pure hatred.
“So here, right now, I propose a deal.” His hand rose toward my breast and fresh anger drowned out the disgust. “Devote your body to me, and I’ll let you stay in the pack.”
That was it. My hatred spilled over and I couldn’t hold back I spat right on his disgusting hand as it tried to claim what wasn’t his.
He yanked it back instantly and slapped me hard across the cheek.
“You bloody bitch! Shit!”
I wasn’t sure why he sounded so furious, but the slap split my lip open. Blood trickled down the center as everything after that became a hazy blur.
The next morning, I dragged myself back to the pack for my parents’ funeral. They were letting me see them one last time before sending me away for good. I’d be a rogue now.
Zephyros’s words from the night before kept echoing in my head as I sat alone by the garden tree.
‘If you dare breach my words, mind you, Nyra… I’ll set your pack on fire and enjoy every single scream and moan of agony from your dying pack members. Remember that.’
If I told the alpha of our pack right now, Zephyros wouldn’t be able to touch us anymore… right?
God, I was so wrong.
His shadow fell over me, and I looked up to see Dravok standing there.
“…You’ve finally been elected as interim alpha now.”
“I have duties as beta of this prestigious pack, sweetheart. I’m sorry for your loss, and for how things went last night. You still wish to leave the pack, Nyra”
“I want to break off my engagement with Zephyros.” I cut him off without caring that the elders following behind him could hear every word.
Just then, I heard Zephyros chuckling somewhere in the distance.
Perfect. Just great.
“She wouldn’t do that, Dravok. The poor girl is distraught. I’ll take care of her. And please, overlook her childish decision to leave the pack. We both know it was made in haste, right, Nyra?” My lip trembled with rage at his smooth lies.
Suddenly… a new presence filled the garden.
While the elders were still murmuring about how immature my decision was, everything shifted. Even without a wolf, I could feel it the heavy silence that dropped over everyone.
He walked across the grass like he owned the entire place, moving with this effortless elegance. I didn’t realize at first that he was heading straight for me. He stopped midway and just… stared.
Isn’t he that guy from somewhere…?
Who is he…?
And why does his presence feel so strong that even Zephyros bowed the moment he appeared?
Nyra Virellion“Ha… ha…”I stood in the middle of the arena during my second round, breathing hard and starting to question how much I had left in the tank. Thousands of eyes bored into me from the stands. They were waiting for something exciting, something raw that would get their blood pumping and feed their hunger for a real fight. As brutal as it sounded, that was the whole point of the Trial of Heirs put on a show, prove you could lead them.I took a deep, shaky breath and locked eyes with the guy across from me. He was from one of the stronger packs. We were both still holding back our weapons, just circling each other in the early moments of the match.“Are you scared, little girl?” he taunted. My stance shifted from defensive to straight-up annoyed. I relaxed my shoulders a bit and answered, “Not trying to crush your dreams or anything, but I’ve trained harder than anyone else here. I plan to win this time respectfully.”
Nyra VirellionThe roar of the pre-celebration crowd thundered right through the palace roof. The five of us stood lined up in front of the Lycan Alpha, heads high. Prince Vaerith had been running these events for three years straight now, and you could feel the weight of all those past trials hanging in the air.“With all contestants ready for victory, we’re about to begin the last and final Trial within the Trial of Heirs!” the announcer called out, voice buzzing with excitement. “Heartiest wishes to every one of you. Over to the Alpha.”Vaerith looked down at us from his throne high above the stadium, meeting each of our eyes.“May the strongest win.”A rush of confidence swept through the whole line. We were all fired up, ready to fight for those rewards. The signal shot into the air green smoke mixing with exploding confetti across the dome and we turned toward the massive holographic screen. Since there were an odd number o
NyraI woke up from my nap feeling refreshed. My body was buzzing with energy, but my mind was somewhere else completely.I figured I’d find Alpha Vaerith in his usual spot in the gym like always. This time though, I decided I might get a little closer… maybe even tease him a bit.Boy, was I wrong about how that would go.I quietly peeked into the dimly lit gym and caught sight of his back first. I bit my lip. There was this strange, warm knot twisting in my stomach. A sudden breeze from behind ruffled my hair. Alpha Vaerith, who had been setting up two benches at a careful distance, turned around. Our eyes met and mine widened. He smirked. He actually smirked.“Well, hello, princess.”I gasped, totally thrown off by the look on his face. I’d never imagined Alpha Vaerith could be like this. His whole vibe had changed into something wild and intense. And here I thought I was going to be the one doing the teasing
NyraThe chaos from the incident had finally died down. The final list of contestants was out, and both Oryndor and I had made the cut. It was just five of us: Caelyra, Oryndor, two other guys I didn’t know, and me. I hadn’t managed to learn anything about those two men because a certain someone kept giving me vague little hints every time I tried to ask about their backgrounds.I needed real information so I could plan proper battle strategies. Knowing where they came from could seriously change how I performed.“Hey!”“Whoa!”I’d just stepped out of the library into the corridor when a heavy body suddenly jumped on me from behind.“The books might have fallen, genius!”“Does it look like I’d miss a chance to scare you with a pile of falling books? Nah, that’s not me, Virellion.”I rolled my eyes at him.“So? What’s your strategy?”“First rule of winning never let your enemies know your stance. Who knows? You might use it against me later.”I scoffed.“What a friend I have. And what
Nyra Virellion“Alpha Vaerith,” a guard’s voice called from outside the door, sounding unusually tense.Vaerith looked mildly annoyed by the interruption. He glanced at the closed door and answered, “I’m busy.”“F-Forgive me, Your Highness. But the Lord of the South Pack has requested your presence. He has urgent matters to discuss regarding the incident… and some other confidential information. I tried to tell him you were occupied, but he still sent me to fetch you.”I watched Vaerith roll his eyes. It was actually kind of funny seeing him so irritated by the disturbance. I knew he wanted to stay here with me longer, but duty always came first.“I’ll be there in five minutes,” he replied. The guard’s footsteps faded away quickly.“I’m needed, Nyra.”“As you should be,” I said softly. His eyebrows drew together.“Aren’t you upset that I have to leave you?”“Why would I be? You’re the Lycan Alpha. People depend on you constantly. When I become an alpha of my own pack one day, I’ll be
Nyra VirellionI… smiled. When I opened my eyes after realizing he wasn’t going to say anything about me finally accepting his advances, he hit me with words no one had ever said to me before.Who would’ve guessed the Lycan Alpha of the Whispering Pines Pack was such a poetic, hopeless romantic?“Is that all you’ve got for me, Nyra Virellion?”“T-That’s all,” I said, accidentally stammering. He chuckled at my reaction and gently brushed a stray tuft of hair behind my ear. The simple gesture sent butterflies throwing a full parade in my stomach, marching off toward places I wasn’t ready to admit out loud.“You’re adorable, Nyra. Ever since I first saw you harsh facade and all you’ve always been the cutest little thing in my eyes. Maybe… I just see the innocence still in you.”“You’re way off on that, Alpha Vaerith. I’m nowhere near innocent anymore. I might have been… back when my parents were still alive. But after that night, everything in my little world changed. No one deserves the
Nyra VirellionI didn’t want to jump to conclusions, especially not with a guy who was completely wasted.“Alpha Vaerith, I need to step outside and get the guards to take you back to your room. You you’re really drunk. Please, just let me help you.”I kept my tone polite out of respect, even if I

Vaerith‘Hey…’ Tharok’s voice echoed inside my head.‘It’s not the end of the world, man. He’s just fixing her hair, trying to make her feel better before they keep walking. It’s called friendship, Vaerith. Besides, I’m sure Nyra Virellion and us are meant to be together. There’s no other path for
Vaerith[THE NIGHT BEFORE]Who ever listens to a guy’s side of things anyway? People always assume men don’t have feelings, but we do. Our thoughts and opinions matter to us, even if the rest of the world doesn’t care.I trailed quietly behind them, following as Vaerith wait, no, I was the one doin
