After a moment of dead silence, the crowd erupted into chatter. The mocking laughter pierced my ears, making my limbs numb.

I asked, "Why? Why do you have to do it this way?"

Henry Tate's smile was cruel. "Isn't this nice?"

My eyes reddened. It was our wedding day, supposedly the happiest day of my life. Yet he actually slept with Rebecca Litt and chose to tell me now. This wasn't getting revenge for me. He was humiliating me in public.

I stared at the intertwined figures on the screen, my throat tight.

Henry leaned in and whispered with a hint of amusement. "I made a bet with Rebecca. We wondered if you would cry or make a fuss when you saw those photos."

He raised his hand and gently wiped the tears off my face. "I knew you would cry first." Then he took his phone out of his pocket, which showed that he was on a call.

Rebecca was nonchalant. "Alright, you won. I'm going to learn how to do what you showed me in the video. Just wait until tonight. You're going to enjoy it."

My mind was completely blank. All I could hear was the sound of my heart beating.

The next moment, the lights came on in the banquet hall. The intimate photos vanished, replaced by the words "Just Married!"

Henry linked his fingers through my cold hand and raised his glass toward the guests. "Just kidding. I was only trying to lighten the mood."

Then, like a puppet on strings, I was carried offstage by him, the laughter filling the room slowly fading behind me. The moment the backstage door closed, I slapped him across the face, tears streaming down my face.

Henry turned his head away, his tongue pressing against his cheek as his eyes slowly turned red.

Memories of the past flooded my mind. Henry, Yves Sullivan, and I were childhood friends. Both he and Yves were race car drivers, and they risked their lives to marry me. By the end of the race, both of them were barely breathing.

Afraid something would happen to them again, I cruelly rejected Henry and chose to get engaged to Yves instead.

On the eve of our wedding, I found out I was pregnant and wanted to surprise him. Instead, I walked in on him in bed with Rebecca, the student I financially supported.

Dressed in Yves' shirt, Rebecca leaned against the bedframe and smiled at me. "Your fiance said I'm more flexible than you."

Yves didn't deny it, nor did he stop what he was doing.

It felt like someone had ripped my heart straight out of my chest, and I stumbled out the door, wandering through the rain for three hours.

In the end, it was Henry who found me. He held an umbrella over my head, and without asking any questions, he said, "Come with me."

Henry didn't mind that I was pregnant with Yves' kid. "Keep the baby. I'll be his dad."

But I wasn't willing to let others mock the Tate family's only son as a sucker and a simp because of me.

So on a rainy night, I consumed half a bottle of sleeping pills. Henry carried me all the way to the hospital, his desperate tears mixing with the rain, hitting my face.

The doctors managed to save me, but my baby was gone.

That night, he spent the whole night kneeling in the hallway.

When I came across the news, my fingers hovered above the screen for a long while. Even though I wanted to laugh, I couldn't.I thought back to that day, when I knelt in front of the operating room and begged the doctor to issue a death certificate for me.The doctor knew Brandon, so after a short hesitation, he called him.Brandon rushed over and stayed silent for a long time before asking, "Are you really sure about this? Back then, I asked you to leave and study abroad, but you wouldn't. You said Henry was different. You said he could make you happy. But in the end, isn't he cut from the same cloth as Yves?"I lowered my head, tears rolling down my face. Then Henry showed up.I lay there, the white sheet pulled up to my chin. I heard him smashing things, him shouting for the doctor to save me, and him crying like a child. But Henry never once lifted that white sheet. He didn't dare.I closed my eyes and waited. When the hallway finally fell quiet, I opened my eyes and said,

Henry gave the donor heart to Dad. The surgery was a success, but before he could hear a word of thanks from my family, they heard about my death first.Grandma fainted on the spot. My brother, Brandon Shaw, the youngest chief prosecutor of Jenton, stood in the morgue for a good ten minutes before saying, "Make him pay."My family made their move. First, someone reported Tate Corporation for tax violations. The materials they sent in broke down every single transaction in such detail that even an audit couldn't find a flaw. Then the full video of Henry cheating was posted online. It hit number one on the trending list and stayed there for three days.Hashtags like "Devoted Husband Image Shattered", "Henry Caught Cheating on His Wife", and "Mr. Tate's Bedroom Photos" took turns dominating the trending lists.People online dug up everything about Henry, including how he put explicit photos on the screen for me to see at the wedding, using Dad's donor heart to threaten me, and bringi

When Henry kicked the door open, I was already lying on the floor, gripping the empty pill bottle.During the stomach pumping, I curled up in pain while he held my shoulders, his hands trembling. When I woke up, the first thing I did was touch my stomach, as if I was relieved.Henry told himself it was Yves' child. Maybe it was better that it was gone. Now I was whole again, and I belonged to him completely. But he couldn't stand seeing me suffer because of Yves again. Henry knelt there all night and swore he'd get revenge.Henry deliberately approached Rebecca, wanting to ruin her reputation. But when Rebecca leaned in to kiss him, he didn't move away. Her body was warmer than mine, and she was more eager. Henry shut his eyes, my face flashing through his mind, but his body didn't lie.He hated himself for getting aroused. Even more, he hated himself for thinking Rebecca was a better lover in bed than me.After it happened for the first time, Henry sat near the bed, his hand tr

Henry grabbed his hair before punching the wall hard, his knuckles splitting open.Did it hurt him? It did. But that pain wasn't going to bring me back to life.I was the woman Henry had loved most in his life, and he had loved me since we were kids.He still remembered the day I transferred to the school when we were 14. The sunlight hit my ponytail, and Henry froze. So did Yves. From then on, they fought over me for 12 straight years. Whenever Henry got the seat next to me, Yves would block the classroom door and stop him from getting in. They'd start fighting, blood running all over their faces, until the dean made them stand all afternoon.I would secretly bring them two bottles of iced water and say, "Stop fighting."I ranked first in the grade, so Yves stayed up all night doing practice problems and showed up the next day with dark circles under his eyes, asking me to help him.Yves kept pretending he couldn't understand the question even after I explained it to him three

12 weeks. 3 months.Henry was going to be a father. Yet just now, he had made me watch him have sex with another woman. To torture me, he even used Dad's donor heart as a threat.Henry cursed, "Fuck!" He shoved Rebecca away, grabbed his pants, and hurriedly pulled them on.Rebecca fell back onto the bed, stunned. "What are you doing?"Henry seemed to not hear her at all. He rushed to his car, the engine roaring as he sped onto the road.He had just reached the hospital when the light outside the operating room went out. He rushed over and grabbed the nurse by the arm. "Where's Helena? Where's my wife?"The nurse winced from his painful grip and backed away in fear."Let me in! I'm her husband!" Henry pushed open the operating room doors, and the harsh light made him squint. The doctor turned around, his gloves covered in blood. "I'm sorry. We did everything we could."Henry looked in the direction of the doctor's finger and saw a white sheet covering the operating table, with

I averted my gaze as an overwhelming sense of exhaustion washed over me. "Henry, you're so childish. You can't compare to Yves in that regard."The moment my words landed, Henry suddenly rushed over and shoved me hard. Caught off guard, I slammed into the doorframe, my vision going black from the pain. His pupils contracted, and he took half a step forward when Rebecca let out a soft moan and wrapped her arms around his neck. Their kiss deepened as her hands slipped into his bathrobe.Henry closed his eyes and didn't look at me again.I tried to push myself up from the floor, but the wedding dress had tangled around my feet, making it hard to stand.Rebecca pushed Henry onto the bed, then turned around and smiled at me. "Are you watching this? I'm going to start the lesson. If you don't learn from me, maybe your next husband will become mine too."Henry opened his eyes, a cruel smile playing on his lips. "Helena, you will never divorce me. After all, no man will be willing to acc
