His words, "We end this together," was a heavy one.

Lola wasn't entirely sure what that "together" meant with a man who had been her captor, but a common enemy certainly made for an interesting alliance.

Ramón didn't waste any time. He turned, gesturing for Lola to follow. He led her from the chapel to the hushed, silence of his private study.

It was a room that felt both ancient and modern, filled with dark wood furniture, leather, and fitted with screens that showed almost everything from global markets to his jaguar’s favorite napping spots.

Lola still felt a little awe and disbelief. Ramón, the terrifying El Halcón, had just… accepted her bombshell.

And then invited her to destroy the world with him. That's definitely not typical.

He moved to a wood cabinet, ignoring the perfectly neat rows of contemporary literature. His fingers moving over dusty spines until he found and pulled a hidden latch.

A section of the shelf swung open, revealing a small, hidden safe. He easily worke

The morning after the midnight crow hunt, the villa was quiet. Infact, too quiet. However, Lola wasn't feeling quiet at all. Her mind was buzzing with a very dangerous new plan. She knew exactly where to find Ramón. And she knew exactly what she needed to do.But first she needed to grab some food, skipping breakfast was a no no, unless absolutely necessary. Eliza hadn't come up, so Lola went down to know what's up. She saw Rosa who greeted her cheerfully, giggling. “Good morning Lola, you look like you could finish a horse. Come join us for breakfast.”“Good morning Rosa, sure. You seem to know me well. Where is Eliza? I haven't seen her around and everywhere seems quiet.”Rosa pouted, “seems no one looks for me.”Her face really looked like Donalds duck and Lola couldn't help laughing. Rosa joined her too as they enter the kitchen. “You really look like a silly goose, you would be perfect for a telenovela.Fine, I miss you too but you are here and Eliza isn't.”Rosa starts maki

Ramón didn’t wait for a reply. He simply turned, and walked out of the courtyard in a deadly aura. Lola stood frozen for a second, then quickly followed him. There was no going back now. She had chosen to mingle her blood with his, to step into his war. She was now a partner, whether she liked it or not. And obviously partners went crow hunting at midnight.Héctor was already waiting, a few other heavily armed men flanking him. There was a different kind of energy in the air now, the chilling readiness of men about to go to battle.Ramón gave some quick orders in a low authoritative voice that sent shivers down Lola's spine. She watched him with a strange mix of fear and a new fascination. He was a terrifying force of nature. Seeing him in action, Lola realized he wasn't just a monster but a monster with strategy. They moved fast, exchanging the SUV for a more rugged unmarked truck. The truck soon roared to life, spitting gravel as it sped away from the villa. The scent of gun

Lola’s brain felt like a tangled mess of wires. The kiss, the phone, his admiring laugh and most importantly, the thrilI she felt at the thought of Ramón burning her enemies was just too much to handle at once. She just wanted to be back in her room, away from the intense energy that hummed around him.Lola practically bolted to her room, ignoring Héctor’s quiet nod and Ramón’s lingering gaze. She just needed to be alone.Even though this room was nothing like her room back home, it felt like a safe haven. A small island in a very shark-infested sea. She kicked off the ridiculous red heels and peeled off the even more ridiculous red dress. It felt like shedding a dangerous skin. All that glamor was just a disguise for the chaos underneath. She still couldn’t wrap her head around Ramón’s reaction. When she showed him proof that someone was trying to kill him and steal his turf, he was supposed to be furious! Instead he laughed. The man was a walking contradiction, and honestly it wa

The SUV smelled like expensive leather and Ramón’s musk-sandalwood cologne. A scent that was somehow both comforting and very infuriating to Lola. Her thighs felt cold and exposed as they were open from the ridiculous thigh slit of her dress. She just put her arms over them since she had nothing else. Her heart, however, was doing a frantic salsa, still reeling from the way Ramón grabbed her from her spying spot on the terrace. Now who knows what he saw or heard. And the phone. Oh, the phone. It was tucked deep in her clutch, a tiny bomb of truth waiting to explode.Ramón was quiet beside her, too quiet actually. He just stared out the window, his profile sharp against the passing city night lights. Lola tried to act as casual as possible, as if she wasn't carrying a recording that could either save her life or get her killed. She was holding her clutch so tightly that her fingers were probably leaving permanent indentations on it.Then, he turned. His eyes, those stormy green ey

The kiss. Oh, that kiss was so emotionally charged. Ramón had practically inhaled her. Savouring every inch of her mouth and making his claim. When he finally pulled away, she was breathless and slightly dazed. Lola did the only sensible thing she could think of… she feigned dizziness. She staggered a little, put a hand on her forehead. “Oh, my,” she murmured dramatically. “All this… excitement, it's getting hot in here. I think I need some air.”Ramón’s eyes narrowed, but taking a quick look at Pedro Gómez, who was still glaring across the room, seemed to convince him. He gave her a nod. “Héctor,” he barked, and his ever-present right hand materialized like a shadow. “Keep an eye on her.”Lola tried not to roll her eyes. Keep an eye on me? I’m practically wearing a sign that says ‘El Halcón's Property: Trouble, with a side of vengeance.’ But she gratefully slipped out of the stuffy ballroom and onto the almost empty terrace. Not giving him an opportunity to change his mind.
