Chap 3: She feels comfortable by his side.

Venn was startled as if he had been hit in the heart. Unable to control his actions, he pushed Fidelia back with his hand. Fidelia staggered, losing her balance due to a sudden attack by Venn. She felt her body slowly falling; there was no other way; she could only close her eyes and accept. Before that, she had seen Brenna's mocking smile for her.

Unexpectedly, however, Fidelia did not fall. She landed safely in someone's arms. She could feel his heartbeat pounding in his solid chest. Fidelia carefully opened her eyes and saw Declan's handsome face, his hair falling over his broad, smooth forehead, making him even more attractive.

"Fidelia, are you OK?" Declan asked her in a warm, seductive voice.

Then, Declan helped Fidelia straighten up, strong arms wrapped around her waist, not letting go. At this moment, she felt like Declan was protecting her; her heart skipped a beat because of his warm action.

"I… I'm fine. Thank you!" Fidelia stammered like a complete idiot, clearly showing how confused she had become.

Declan laughed at Fidelia's shyness and looked at her with gentle amusement. However, when he looked toward Venn and Brenna, his face was as cold as ice. Declan squinted in their direction with no sympathy, his eyes full of malice and unyielding!

"It is cowardly for a man to do that to a woman! Do you know?"

As Venn was about to refute Declan's words, Brenna stopped him. She narrowed her eyes, glaring at Declan from top to bottom as if she were judging him for who he was. Of all the men Brenna had met, she had never met a man as insanely handsome as this. He made Brenna feel hypnotized. Although he wore only patient clothes, it did not detract from the style and elegance of an arrogant gentleman.

It took a long time for Brenna to calm down, hiding her true feelings and trying to appear disinterested in this man. Brenna tossed her blonde hair back, held her head high, and headed toward Declan. She glanced at Fidelia and said in an arrogant tone:

"I think you should not interfere in this matter. Do you know what kind of person she is? She's a newcomer from prison, so it's hazardous! I have kindness, so I want to remind you first. Don't let her beauty fool you."

"Brenna, shut your mouth!" Fidelia said, gritting her teeth, trying to control the anger in her heart.

When he learned the truth about her, Fidelia looked at Declan to see his reaction. However, she was surprised that his face did not change color. On the contrary, he smiled coldly and replied in a deep and sharp voice: "Oh, really? But I'm sorry, I don't need your kindness. I can see for myself who is the bad guy and the good guy."

Then, Declan pulled her close to him, surprising Fidelia. She quickly looked up at him and met Declan's mischievous wink and a sly smile. Fidelia frowned, unable to guess what he was going to do next.

Next, Declan looked at Brenna, who said in a sarcastic but warning tone: "I give you some sincere advice! Don't judge others by just one aspect. Because one day, it will put you in danger. Before you say anything, you should think first!"

Brenna's face darkened as she heard Declan's sinister words. Venn saw his lover offended and became angry, his eyes bloodshot. He aggressively grabbed Declan's collar and shouted: "You bastard, who have you taught life? How dare you insult my girlfriend?"

"Venn, what the hell are you doing?" As Fidelia angrily shouted, she ordered Venn: "Get your hands off his collar."

With this situation, Declan remained calm, but his eyes turned cold, making Venn inferior. He spoke sternly: "So she has the right to insult Fidelia? I just did what she did to Fidelia."

"You…." Venn gritted his teeth, unable to say anything more.

"So what? Am I right?"

After Declan finished speaking, he gripped Venn's wrist, making him wince. He watched Venn raise an eyebrow defiantly; he gritted his teeth, squeezing Venn's wrist so painfully that he automatically removed his hand from Declan's collar.

At this point, Venn felt a red mark on his wrist, the feeling of being crushed by a truck wheel.

"Damn it!" Venn mumbled to himself, looking at Declan with wary eyes.

"Declan, are you OK?" Fidelia said as she straightened his collar. Concern and concern in her eyes made his heart race in his chest. Five years have passed since the day he lost the one he loved; his heart seemed to have frozen. But today, the feeling of fluttering, being attracted to a girl, suddenly appeared. Could it be that he had a crush on Fidelia? Declan hopes it's not a temporary feeling.

The space now seemed to be only Fidelia and him. Declan stroked her bangs behind her ears, making Fidelia slightly startled. His eyes sparkled like the sun, causing her to flutter.

He shook his head, gently replying in a very emotional way that made many people around him jealous: "I'm fine, thanks, Fidelia."

At this moment, the hospital's security guard entered and approached the four people. They watched the people's attitudes, looking at her and Declan with suspicion as if she and he were the ones causing trouble here and Venn and Brenna were the victims.

Fidelia doesn't want Declan to get involved with them. Venn and Brenna are crafty; they can change white to black as they did to her five years ago.

"OK! This stops here! I'll take you back to your room."

"So, what's wrong here?" A security guard spoke up.

Declan smiled politely and calmly replied, "Nothing. Just a small collision between us."

The head of the security group glanced at the four of them in turn as if warning, and finally, he said: "If it's just a light scuffle, quickly disperse. Don't affect those around you."

"Let's go!" Fidelia reminded Declan. "The air here is too polluted!"

She didn't want to stand here any longer. Because looking at those two, they made her feel disgusted and suffocated.

He frowned at Fidelia's harsh words. And he quickly understood that her words just now were referring to Venn and Brenna.

"Probably about my room is the best choice!" Declan looked at Fidelia and smiled mysteriously.

Just as Fidelia was about to turn away, Brenna grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. Brenna's face was red with anger. She growled:

"Stop! You insulted me, and then you're going to leave?"

Fidelia jerked Brenna's hand out of hers, uncompromising: "Don't touch me with that filthy hand. Besides, I don't think you can understand human language either!"

"What do you say? Be careful little mouth, what you say." Brenna's voice hissed through her teeth, her body shaking with anger. Immediately, she was about to slap Fidelia's face, but a firm hand stopped her. He stood in front of Fidelia to shield her. At this moment, Fidelia felt Declan was like a hero, ready to protect her anytime.

Declan looked at Brenna with cold, hateful eyes. He spoke very calmly but brought with him the pressure and aura of pressure. "Stop your stupid actions! I warn you; if you hurt Fidelia, I'll make you regret it for the rest of your life!" He added, "I'm someone who doesn't know how to joke."

As soon as Declan finished speaking, Declan threw Brenna's arm back, causing her almost to fall if not for Venn to catch her in time. She said as if to scream:

"What is your relationship with her, you lunatic, that you dare to threaten me?"

Declan smirked sarcastically, "You don't deserve to know about my relationship with her!"

Hearing Declan's scornful words to her, Brenna's face turned black, hard as stone. She stood motionless like a statue, filled with anger. Brenna looked at Fidelia as if she wanted to eat her alive right now. She muttered under her breath: "Fidelia, this isn't over yet. I definitely won't let you live in peace."

"Fidelia, let's go." Declan's deep voice sounded seductively in her ears again. Every time he called her name, her heart pounded so hard that it felt like it would explode in her chest. Then, Declan grabbed Fidelia's hand and pulled her away from the place.

An indescribable emotion was spreading through Fidelia's heart. His warm hand was still holding hers tightly and wouldn't let go. Declan is different from them; he respects her. Fidelia looked up at him, realizing that sometimes all we need is a sense of security when we're with someone. And Declan was the man who made her feel this way.
