APRIL

I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a truck repeatedly. The throbbing in my head only got worse as I opened my eyes.

I sat up, trying to figure out where I was, in a completely unfamiliar room.

What the hell did I do last night? I looked down, seeing that I was still wearing my wedding dress, and that is when all the memories came rushing back. They make my stomach churn, and I feel like I am going to throw up at any second.

I start letting out some of the many colorful insults my trucker mouth knows. The bastard deserves every single one of them, and I won't hesitate to say them to his face the second I get the chance.

"Those are not words a lady should use," I looked at the amused man leaning against the closet. I froze completely at the sight of him, so much so that I didn't even dare to breathe.

This could only happen to me. I mean, normal people, who think and act rationally, don't suffer from these kinds of problems. But what bothers me the most about all this is that I have zero history of sneaking into a stranger's house during what I assume is the drunkest night of the year. This was all David's fault. If he had just told me the truth, we could have figured something out. But he only cared about his image.

"Hey, breathe. Ryan will kill me if he finds out I'm bothering you." I open my mouth but close it right away; it seems I have lost my ability to speak.

"Hi," I say in such a calm and innocent way that no one would think I am about to have a stroke. "How are you? I am sorry for stealing your bed."

"May I ask what you are doing here?" Even though he tries to hide it, I can see the amusement in his eyes.

"I... well..." I start smoothing out the wrinkles in my dress, suspecting I must look like a woman who just escaped from a mental institution. "I don't know." As soon as I blurt out my confession, I see him fighting a smile.

"You don't know? So tell me, little pom-pom, do you usually go to a stranger's house dressed as a bride?" The bastard is making fun of me, but I am too embarrassed to insult him, not to mention the fact that I am in his house.

"My name is April," I say to stop him from calling me pom-pom again; any bulkiness on my body is the dress's fault. Seeing him start to laugh only begins to awaken my true self. "I want to apologize, you know, for any trouble I might have caused last night. The truth is I don't remember anything, not even you. I am not someone who usually drinks or wakes up in a stranger's bed." Seeing him not say anything only encourages me to continue my senseless rambling. "Clearly, when you met me last night I was going through a rough patch. I am not making excuses, and I truly thank you for rescuing me. Your house is very nice."

"Is it?" Now his smile shows his teeth. He is attractive, even though he is mocking me. "I thought I heard you say you didn't remember anything, so how do you remember the rest of my house?" Shit. How much nonsense am I spouting? I feel incapable of putting together a coherent sentence, though his attitude is just turning my embarrassment into annoyance.

"I did say that and it is true, but if the rest of it is as cozy as this room, it must be a perfect place." My voice sounds like a cat being tortured. I feel tortured right now.

"Little pom-pom, you clearly drank too much last night, but did you take any other substances? You know, because you still seem a little high." Now my eyes double in size, and I no longer care about being nice to this idiot.

"I have never done drugs, you massive idiot!" Even though I am furious, he just seems more amused.

"Are you sure? Not even a little pill?" I narrow my eyes, debating whether to jump on him and beat him until I am exhausted.

"Of course not, I am not that kind of person!" This time I am yelling, but this man is just exasperating.

"Don't get mad, little pom-pom. I am not judging you, I just care about your safety." I let out a sound of disbelief, and he bursts out laughing.

"What are you doing here, Michael? You said you were just going to use the bathroom." We both look at the newcomer. This one does look familiar to me.

"I just saw little pom-pom and came to say hi. I didn't know you made a habit of stealing brides now. That is not cool, Ryan." But he is still highly amused.

"Shut up, idiot. I hope you didn't say anything bad to her." He then turns to look at me, but I am too defensive right now to appreciate how attractive he is. "April, I apologize for anything he might have said to you. He is an idiot most of the time."

"He proved that when he asked me if I was high," I spit out like a punch.

"You told her that?" This Ryan guy directs his anger at his friend.

"I was just joking. Little pom-pom, I just wanted to make you laugh, you looked so scared." He sits at the foot of the bed and crosses one leg over the other. "Come on, tell Uncle Mitch. What is the problem?"

"Oh my God, that sounded really creepy. Thanks, but no. In fact, I think I should go now. I need to go and jump off the first bridge I see."

"Bunny, I hope you are joking." I look at Ryan as he speaks. "I understand what happened to you, but your fiancé doesn't deserve that much importance."

"Ex-fiancé," I remind him.

"Hey, wait a minute. Bunny?"

"You are leaving. I need to talk to April and take her home." I watch as Ryan escorts Michael out of the room.

Well, apparently it was Ryan who brought me here. As I stare at the door, I think about how I am going to have to face my problems today.

AbbyI stalled by walking around almost the entire hospital. There were still many unattended patients, which gave me the perfect excuse to delay our conversation. I did not even know if he was awake yet and I was already making up excuses to avoid seeing him.Very good maturity level, Abigail Colman! As I walked slowly, very slowly, to the room where Michael was, I thought about what I would say to him. The guys said I should let him explain, Dr. Myers said I should face my ghosts. And I knew Ryan had been the most accurate; I was resisting out of fear of losing someone important to me again. My resistance was so strong that I almost lost him today. What would have happened if they had not managed to get him out? What if he had bled to death on the way? I tried to ignore the feelings of pain and the tightness forming in my chest just thinking about it.When I entered the room, he was still unconscious. He looked so peaceful that I envied that state. My hand seemed to have a mind of i

AbbyI could hear them talking and it calmed me to know that they had not suffered serious injuries either. I approached almost soundlessly, while they continued their conversation. They were so focused that they did not seem to notice me."He is a fucking idiot, we told him to get out and he did not do it. What was he planning? To kill himself?" Logan growled."We know he is not the same, he is even more reckless than before." As I observe Jack, I can see how his arm is still bleeding. Despite being told that they were treated, I see that they were not."Do you think he is okay? He was quite hurt." Stepping out of my hiding spot, I decide to answer the question that was meant for Jack."He is fine, he just needs a few stitches. I took care of treating him, so he should wake up any minute."When they looked up at me, I leaned in to grab the necessary things to treat Jack's arm. They just looked at me as if trying to figure out if it was really me and how they should talk to me."They

Abby"Abby, could you go check on Mr. Thomas?" I looked at Elena, my new nursing supervisor."Sure, I will go right now," I commented with a slight smile.I have spent this last month trying to get used to my new routine. It was hard to get the transfer, but when I achieved it, I did not hesitate. I could not stay there, I did not feel comfortable.I have not seen anyone since that day; since I ran, I completely moved away from the city. Let's call it a fresh start, one where I was completely alone, where I had no family, no friends, and not the boy I love.It was not easy to leave all that behind, especially considering that your head seems to fight against the idea of not seeing him anymore. I just need time; with time, everything is forgotten and overcome. Even if I wanted to, I cannot go back now. What would I say? I still cannot shake the image of seeing him turn into that wolf.Dr. Myers, the psychologist I visit every Tuesday afternoon, told me it was common; the loss of a love

AbbyWhen I heard the sound of bones and clothes breaking, I did not understand what the hell was happening. I only knew that I should not look up; I did not want to and I refused to.I tried, but I clearly failed. Only then did I see how that huge dog occupied the place where Michael was before. My mind works in strange ways; I did not understand, or did not want to understand, how the guy I was in love with was a dog. And not in the usual sense, he was literally a dog.I directed my gaze to Jack, but when his eyes met mine, he looked away. I searched for the gaze of the others, and they all avoided me. Did they turn out to be cowards now?Everything was happening too fast. One moment I was watching the dog, or Michael, walk towards us, and I was just hoping he did not want to eat me.I closed my eyes in fear, this was madness. It was surely the stress caused by this situation. But if that was the case, why was the giant dog still walking towards me?"Calm down Abby, he will not hurt

Michael"We found something." When Anibal said that, we were standing right next to him. Mostly me, I do not mind saying it; I grabbed the man by the lapels of his suit and planted a kiss on him worthy of an Oscar. Unfortunately, my display of gratitude was not well received, as he pushed me away and started rubbing his mouth. He does not know how lucky he was.But the good thing was that there was finally news. We were running out of options, we could not think of anywhere else to go. Ordoñez had called to let us know they still had not found anything. Frustrating? Yes, police incompetence was fucking frustrating. But what could we do? According to them, wait for updates, otherwise, we would hinder the search. In my opinion, a damn joke!"What are you waiting for to tell us where they are?" Ryan growled."I am trying to wrap my head around the idea. Believe it or not, it is important to me too. I am fucking in love with Abigail." And there it was again. How many more times was he goi

MichaelSeven hours. Seven fucking hours! They had passed and I still did not have a single damn clue about where my mate was. Thousands of questions swirled in my head and I did not want to answer them for fear they would come true... Where could she be? Were they treating her right? Who the hell was the damn coward that dared to take them? Those were some of the questions that shattered my peace of mind. I was shaking like an addict who had not had his fix."I am getting tired of waiting for that fucking useless guy to move his ass and find my woman," Ryan growled, overly annoyed."You calm down too, we managed to calm down the big guy with a minion complex and now you are starting. Do not mess with me!" At that, I look up, directing my gaze at Robert."Who said I am calm? I am simply waiting for the best moment to act." They are crazy if they think I will be calm with my mate in the hands of a lunatic.I am waiting for them to get distracted so I can run out of here. The first plac
