Chapter 23

Jake’s POV

As I hugged her , something shifted and then suddenly , the memory of that night came flooding back in full , vivid color.

That night is etched into my soul. I’ve replayed it countless times , every moment clearer than it has any right to be.

I had pushed my way inside the club no intention to party , no interest in the chaos.

The bass thudded against my chest , people moved like their lives depended on it , the air heavy with sweat , alcohol , and desperation.

I wasn’t there to be seen. I had just returned , and I didn’t want anyone knowing I was back yet..

And then I saw her.

A rose among thorns. Sharon , though back then , she was just the girl with the shy eyes. An instant misfit.

She hovered at the door , with her fingers clinging to Mirabel’s arm like she needed an anchor. Like she wasn’t sure she belonged there.

That scarlet dress she wore.. it clung to her curves like it was made for her , but her eyes so wide and uncertain told a different story.. Innoc

    Chapter 52Mirabel's POVI knew that Killian had been suspicious of me from the very beginning. With the new developments, I had to find a way to make things easier for myself.     Chapter 51Sharon's POV"Killian , will you shut up and let me think!! This is just too much I can't take it!" Jake snapped as he yanked the piece of paper from Killian’s hand..I stared at both of them , my heart hammering wildly in my chest. What on earth could be in that paper?? So many thoughts raced through my mind , but the loudest of them all screamed I didn’t do anything.. I had no memory of being with Ryker , not in any intimate way. And a picture?
