Chapter 1
Sharon’s POV
The report from the doctor wasn't what I was expecting. I thought I just had the flu, but it was more than that.
It's not something that must be said, given that I am not yet mated.
I shouldn't be bothered; we already promised each other that we'd be mates. No pregnant, unmated werewolf has ever been able to survive in Moontown Pack.
But I think I can survive because this baby belongs to the next-in-line Alpha.
The thought of becoming the next Luna is just so surreal, and any other female werewolf would kill to become one.
It made me so happy and fulfilled, like I had hit a milestone.
Who doesn't want to become the carrier of the Alpha's baby?
In my fear, covered with excitement, I went over to Killian's house to break the news to him.
This would bring so much joy to him, and I'm sure he would be so surprised to have an heir already. But the only problem was that this news must be kept between us.
If word gets out that I was pregnant without being marked or mated to my fated mate, lots of unthinkable things would befall me.
It is so aggravating that when a male and female come together and have a baby out of wedlock, the woman is punished for it.
A lot of unthinkable things would be done to the woman for getting pregnant without having a mate yet.
I was scared, but I am certain that Killian would not let that befall me. Our love is beyond the thoughts of man.
I am so sure that Killian would accept our baby and he would do the right thing by me to avoid being a laughingstock in town.
Being banished from the pack with an imprint on one's collarbone? Becoming a rogue? Losing all my powers? Not to talk of being a rogue that depreciates until he/she dies.
Ugh. It was terrifying. The thought of getting banished and being a depreciating rogue was something that I feared the most.
Killian won't let that happen to me... I was so sure. He'd told me countless times how much he loves me and how much he would love me to be the mother of his children. He'd even promised me that I would be his one and only Luna.
I trusted Killian, so with a smile on my face, I got to his place and threw a knock on his door.
I could already feel the bond between us; the closer I stepped, the stronger the bond felt.
My heart thumped wildly in my chest as I felt it. A very strong bond pulling me inside.
"Oh my goddess... This is happening!"
With excitement in my heart, I headed for his room. The door to his room was slightly open, and I could see the bed from where I was standing.
The bond became stronger than ever as I got closer. I could see him sit up from the bed through the little opening in the door. He hadn’t noticed I was in yet...
A smile grew on my face as I was about to open the door ajar but stopped in my tracks when I heard something…
“So what are you going to do now?”
A woman's voice, which clearly wasn't mine...
“It's about time to state your ground on this issue. I can't keep giving myself to you and not get any assurance at all.”
With a frown on my face, I pushed my head through the little opening to see who was talking…
My heart broke into pieces seeing the compromising position he was in with another lady, which clearly wasn't me…
I couldn't fathom the lady's face yet since her back was to him.
"You know I love you, right? It's either you or no one else. You're my number one, so stop all these things that you're saying… it's you I'm in love with. Not her…”
What?
"That's all that you say, but you publicly profess your love for her and not me. Everyone thinks you want her to be mates with you. No one even knows that I am in the picture.”
My heart thumped wildly. What exactly was happening right now?
I felt tears pouring from my eyes…
As the lady turned to face him, my heart beat increased, and my mouth fell open in shock.
I just couldn't believe it…
Wasn't that… Mirabel?
My best friend?
I rubbed my eyes vigorously to be sure that I was seeing well…
It's her…
It's Mirabel…
We've been friends since we've known each other, and our friendship has never been broken.
The bond between us was so strong that we knew everything about each other to the extent people in the pack usually call us twins…
What was she doing in Killian's place? My boyfriend’s place, naked and on his bed!
"Mirabel!" I screamed.
Both of them jumped in shock that they had been caught.
Mirabel's eyes opened wide as she saw me.
“What… what…. What are you doing here?” She stuttered, still shocked to be caught on my boyfriend's bed naked!
"What am I doing here?!" I screamed in anger, quite amazed at her absurd question.
Shouldn't I be the one asking her that?!
"What do you mean by that question?!” I rushed to her to land a dirty slap on her face but was shocked when Killian, my supposed boyfriend and mate, guarded her and pushed me aside, making me fall on the ground with a loud thud.
What exactly was happening?
Did Killian just push me away?
Before I could even fathom what was happening, I felt a heavy slap on my face.
And it was Killian! He had slapped me!
He stomped on me and kicked my head, making blood gush out of my forehead.
I just couldn't believe it. What have I done?
"What are you doing in my house unannounced?" was the next thing he blurted out with not even a care in the world that he had hurt me.
His mate!
His supposed fated mate!
My heart squeezed in pain because I could still feel the bond between us. It was still there, strong and painful…
I was carrying his child, and he was sleeping with my best friend!
So what then becomes of me?
What about the promises he had made to me?
"Kill...ian?" I stuttered in shock and confusion.
"Sharon, get the fuck out of my house now!"
"What? Killian... I am your mate. Can't... Can't you also feel it?"
"I don't care, Sharon. I don't give a damn because I will reject you. You can't be my mate. I never loved you; all I did was use you to get to your friend who I love so much."
"No Killian, don't do this to me. I love you. You're my life, I can't live without you, and also, I'm... I'm... I'm... Pre—"
"Ugh, reject her fast. She's getting on my nerves!" Mirabel screamed.
"I, Killian, the next to be Alpha in line, reject you, Sharon, as my fated mate."
As he said those dreadful words, my knees went weak, and my vision blurred.
Chapter 76Jake's POVI threw the crumpled note onto my desk‚ my mind began to race. Why now—why did this have to happen when Sharon and I were not on good terms? Sharon was pissed at me because of the previous incident‚ and I couldn’t blame her.I stood in a not-so-uniformed manner and began pacing the room. My instincts kept screaming danger‚ but from where? Where did this note come from?Who had slipped past the borders without being detected? Unless... the culprit was from within. The Moontown pack’s security was airtight or so I thought.Just as I considered calling Marcus‚ a faint‚ lingering scent tickled my heightened senses. It wasn’t Killian’s scent‚ nor anyone familiar. It was earthy‚ tinged with metallic undertones. I followed the scent to the window‚ where the cold night breeze carried it further.I stepped outside‚ my sharp eyes scanning the dimly lit grounds. A shadow shifted near the treeline. “Show yourself!” I growled‚ my voice echoing through the silence. No response
Chapter 753rd POV Sharon stood right in the middle of the room‚ with her arms crossed‚ and her eyes locked on Jake. The silence between them elongated like an abyss it was suffocating and thick."Who is she?" Sharon finally asked with a very demanding voice.Jake breathed out slowly‚ running a hand through his hair. "I already told you. She’s just someone from my past.""That is not good enough‚ Jake." Sharon’s tone became edged with so much frustration. "She barged into our room‚ claiming you two were in a relationship. What am I supposed to think? I mean‚ what did you expect me to think? If it were you‚ wouldn't you demand answers immediately?""I’m not in control of what people say about me‚ Sharon‚" he said."But you didn’t deny it clearly enough‚" she shot back. "You hesitated. Why? What are you not telling me?""I didn’t hesitate‚" Jake replied‚ his voice calm but firm."You did‚" she insisted. "And it made you look guilty. Why couldn’t you just tell me the truth?""Because th
Chapter 743rd POV Sharon held the blanket tighter around her chest ‚ her eyes flicking nervously between Jake and the woman. “Jake ‚ who is she?” Her voice trembled fiercely. The woman crossed her arms firmly‚ her lips curving into a cold smirk. “He knows exactly who I am‚” she snapped.Jake’s jaw clenched so hard it seemed like it might shatter. “Leave. Now.”“Not until we talk‚” the woman insisted ‚ her voice sharp and filled with authority. “You owe me that much‚ Jake.”“I owe you nothing‚” Jake snapped‚ stepping forward. “Get out of here before I throw you out.”.Sharon’s heart sank deeply as she watched the tension between them. “Jake‚ just tell me what’s going on. Who on earth is she?”.The woman’s eyes turned to Sharon‚ her gaze cold and calculating. “I am someone who knew him long before you came into the picture.”.“Enough!” Jake shouted‚ grabbing the woman by her arm. “We’ll talk outside. Sharon‚ stay here.”.Sharon’s voice wavered‚ suspicion creeping up her spine. “Jake..
Chapter 733rd povThe dungeon was choked with damp air and the metallic stench of blood.. Alpha Mendez stood tall ‚ his eyes burning with fury as he glared at the rogue chained to the wall..“Who sent you?” Mendez’s voice was sharp‚ slicing through the silence like a blade. “Speak‚ or I’ll make you regret ever being born.”The rogue chuckled‚ his teeth stained red with his own blood. “You think I’m afraid of you? What’s the worst you can do? Do your worst.”Mendez’s grip tightened around the silver rod in his hand. Without another word‚ he pressed it against the rogue’s shoulder. A sickening sizzle filled the room‚ followed by a scream of pure agony.“Ahh! Stop! Stop!” the rogue cried out‚ writhing in pain.“Now‚ talk‚” Mendez growled‚ his patience hanging by a thread. “Who’s pulling the strings?”The rogue panted heavily‚ his head hanging low. “Mirabel..” he whispered‚ his voice barely audible.Mendez’s brow furrowed. “What?” he demanded.“Mirabel‚” the rogue repeated‚ lifting his h
Chapter 723rd POV The forest was silent‚ moonlight spilling onto the ground like shards of silver. Jake raised his hand‚ signaling the warriors to halt.“Hold your positions‚” Jake growled. “We attack on my command.”Killian leaned in and whispered to Mirabel‚ “This is our chance. The chaos will cover our tracks.”Mirabel nodded nervously‚ her eyes darting between shadows. “We’ll slip out unnoticed.”A haunting howl echoed through the trees. Jake turned sharply. “Rogues are close. Warriors‚ spread out!”Killian grabbed Mirabel’s wrist. “Now!”They bolted toward the darkness‚ but a low growl stopped them. A warrior emerged from the shadows‚ eyes sharp.“You’re not going anywhere‚” the warrior snarled.Killian clenched his fists. “We don’t want trouble. Let us pass.”The warrior smirked. “You are the trouble. Get back.”Mirabel hissed‚ “We’ll fight if we have to.”Jake stepped from behind the warrior‚ his eyes blazing like fire. “Mirabel‚ Killian‚ where do you think you’re going?”Kil
Chapter 71Sharon’s POVThe world spun as the rogue’s blade pressed against my throat. My breath came in shallow gasps‚ each one scraping against the growing lump in my chest. I could feel the weight of every single eye on me‚ hear the murmurs of fear and desperation from the crowd. But none of it compared to the terror pounding in my ears.I was powerless‚ and I hated it.The rogue’s grip was like hot iron around my body‚ pinning my arms to my sides. I struggled—twisting and kicking—but he only laughed‚ his foul breath hot against my neck.“Keep struggling‚” he sneered‚ “and I’ll spill your blood for all of them to see.”My heart pounded faster at his threat‚ but defiance flared brighter. I wouldn’t die here. I couldn’t.“Let her go!” Jake’s voice rang out from the crowd—sharp‚ commanding‚ slicing through the chaos like a blade.I turned as much as I could‚ locking eyes with him. His gaze burned with fury‚ his body restless like a predator on the verge of striking. But beneath that r
