Chapter 24

Jake’s POV

“You hugged me ,” I started , my voice low as I stared into her teary eyes. “And in that moment, Sharon.. I wasn’t the same man anymore.”

She looked up at me, her lips trembling. “Jake.. what are you saying?”

My hand rose instinctively , cupping her cheek.

The warmth of her skin against my palm sent a shiver racing down my spine. “I’m saying.. you don’t know what you do to me. When you're near, I lose all control. And right now.. I don’t want to fight it anymore.”

Sharon’s cheeks flushed , and she whispered, “Jake..”

“No, let me finish ,” I said, my voice was firm but laced with longing..

“The minute your body touched mine , my world shifted. It was just a hug, Sharon but my body.. it reacted to you in ways I couldn’t control. And it was the last thing I expected.”.

I took a deep breath.. “All I could think of was our first night together. It’s a pity you can’t remember that blissful moment.”

I wondered aloud , alone in the house.He said he needed to speak with Alpha Mendez , but it was taking longer than expected."What on earth could be the problem??"
