ADRIANNA
This was never the type of life I wished for. I wanted a perfect life, a perfect marriage life, a perfect family, I wanted to be happy. It seemed like fate was against my wishes. I dragged my suitcase around the city, looking for a place to stay. I had some savings with me, I just had to find a good apartment to stay in. I was not sure if that was going to be possible, since it was already six in the evening. After a while of walking, I sighted a hotel that looked very much okay to stay the night. I walked into the lobby, to the front desk. I asked the receptionist what rooms were available, and she told me there were single rooms, double rooms, twin rooms and a suite, welcoming me with a smile. I returned the smile back to her, feeling a little bit motivated. I booked a single room to stay for the night. I took the keys from the receptionist, making my way to my designated room. The room looked very much okay, although it was not really spacious. The room held just a single sized bed with its dressings, a table and chair by the right and a small wardrobe by the left. I settled in, dropping down my suitcase and immediately hopped on the bed, the soft texture calming my nerves. My plan was to walk around in the morning to see if I could get an affordable apartment to stay in. I laid on the bed, sleep soon taking over after some minutes. The gentle glow from the window woke me up, the rays of the sun landing on my face softly, making me flutter my eyes open. I yawned as I stood up from the bed. I quickly went into the bathroom to shower, coming out after a few minutes. Dressing up was quite easy, as I wanted to wear something very comfortable, I knew I was going to walk for a while, so I had to be prepared. I wore simple black joggers, with a white baggy top that went so well with my joggers. I styled my outfit with a white canvas, adding a cool effect to my outfit. When I was done dressing up, I took my suitcase out of the room with me and clocked out of the hotel. The sun was hot, but not so hot that I could not walk under it. Thankfully, I applied some sunscreen before I left the hotel. In the next two hours, I spent them looking for apartments, most of them were okay, but not up to my taste. It was either the bathroom was too disgusting, or the apartment was too exposed to the city, facing the crowded places directly, and I didn’t want that. I sighed, already getting tired and frustrated. Will I have to go back to the hotel? I thought to myself. There was no progress, for about three hours that I had been outside, until a woman walked up to me, asking me if I was in need of an apartment, and that she has somewhere that she thinks I would like. “Really?” I said to her eager to see the place she was talking about. My eyes lit up in excitement when she nodded her head. I immediately signaled for her to lead the way, as I dragged my box behind me. The work to the apartment was quite long, as it took about twenty five minutes before we got there. The building before me was large and beautiful. As we stepped into the compound,I was immediately drawn to the charming exterior of Willow Creek Residences. The building was painted in cream colour, which went so well with the quiet environment. We took a walk round the building and just the outside alone almost convinced me to instantly pay for the apartment without even checking how it looked like inside. The woman who brought me to the apartment, alerted me to come into the building to check it out and i instantly decided that following her to willow creek residences was one of the best decisions i have ever made. The moment i stepped into the resident building, i was immediately greeted by the warmth and comfort, i knew i was in love. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with comfortable seating and fresh flowers adding a pop of colour. The lady, who said she was an agent, led me to the elevator and we headed up to the fifth floor. Stepping out of the elevator, i was taken to a beautiful apartment that felt like home from the moment i walked in. The flood of natural light pouring in through the massive windows made the whole space feel alive and vibrant. The open-plan living area was like a blank canvas, just begging for me to add my own personal touches and make it my own. The kitchen was a total dream, with sleek appliances and more counter space than I knew what to do with. I could practically smell the freshly baked cookies and hear the sizzle of Sunday morning pancakes. And the bedroom? It was like a cozy little retreat, tucked away from the rest of the world. I adored the huge closet and the fact that it was nice and quiet – the perfect place to escape with a good book or a relaxing nap. As I explored every nook and cranny, I noticed all the thoughtful little details that made this place truly special. From the built-in shelves to the stylish light fixtures, it was clear that the apartment had been designed with love and care. I could totally see myself living there, making memories and turning that place into my own little slice of heaven. It was the perfect combination of style, comfort, and functionality, I knew I would have been crazy to let it slip away! When i was done checking the apartment out, i asked the agent how much i could pay for the apartment per year and the amount was actually low and affordable. "How much did you say this apartment is for per year again?" I asked her as i walked through the living room, taken in the interior designs. "Eight thousand four hundred dollars" she replied to me. I took a visit to the kitchen once more to admire the background and it just brought warmth to my heart. I walked back to the living room, towards the agent. "Okay, I'll take it" i said to her with a smile on my face. "I'll like to wire the money to you, can i have your details?" I added as i brought out my phone from my bag. "Sure" she replied to me. She called her details, and i immediately transferred the money to her. She was about to leave, when i asked her if i wasn't going to sign any lease agreement. She tells me i would get that tomorrow, as soon as possible and then she hastily left. I wasn't sure what i was feeling immediately she left, but i knew i was feeling a bad vibe. I ignored it, happy that i had a beautiful place to stay. I was already tired from all the walk I had to do today, so after she left, I took a refreshing bath and went straight to bed, drifting off to sleep as soon as I lay down.THREE YEARS LATERI placed a white chrysanthemum on her grave. It’s been three years and I still miss her so much.“Not much has changed since your death, you know Tessy” I murmured, as I plucked out the weeds around her grave.I blew out the few dust I could. “I’m sorry i haven’t come by in a while” i chuckled “it’s been stressful taking care of Liam, who has a wild energy for his age”A hand grazed my shoulders and I looked up, smiling as Ethan gave me a gentle rub. “Ethan’s here too. We’ve all come here to spend time with you”I looked to my right and stretched my hands. “Liam? Come over here, come say hi to your Aunty” i called Liam to come over. He rushed to me, and jumped into my arms. His brows furrowed after I pointed at Theresa’s grave. “Mama? Where is she? I can’t see her, I can only see a huge stone” he said, and I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped my lips.“Oh boy!” I exclaimed as I looked at Ethan for help.Ethan understood immediately and crouched down to talk to
ADRIANNATHREE WEEKS LATER.I stood still in front of the giant door. A bouquet of flowers in my hands. My favourite, Marigold. It was my day. My special day. The day I finally get to call Ethan Greene, my husband. It was a day I had been patiently waiting for for three weeks, or months even. But I didn't have to wait anymore. It was finally here.I tugged on my white wedding gown, that laid beautifully on my body. It was a armless white wedding gown that showed off my glowy shoulders. I stared down at my neck that was embodied with a gold necklace that Ethan had gotten for me five days ago. It was beautiful.I looked at my hands, it had gold bracelets that went so well with my skin tone.My big belly protruded in the dress, but that didn’t matter one bit. It was my big day, a day special to me.Mrs. Thompson, my manager, walked over to me.“You ready?” She whispered as she took my hand under her elbow. She was the one to walk me down the aisle. Oh, how I wished it was her. How I wis
ADRIANNAONE WEEK LATERI let my hair slide down my shoulders, gently combing through, taking my precious time.Today, I had to look good. Because it was an important day to me. The day I could see Jasmine and Raymond being thrown in jail. I put on a smile, nothing was going to spoil my mood. Just the thought of seeing Jasmine and Raymond in jail, brought a tremendous smile to my face. I combed through my hair a few more times and when I was done, I placed the comb on the table, and lightly pressed on my hair.I stood up from the stool and walked to the mirror. I turned left and I turned right, staring and admiring myself.“Today you have to look beautiful. Because today? You watch your enemies being put behind bars for all they have done” I muttered to myself, and smiled.I walked over to my wardrobe, pulling it open. They were a lot of beautiful clothes, but I wanted something extraordinary. I skimmed through, my eyes roaming from clothes to clothes till I eventually found one. It
ADRIANNAThose words made me feel like my legs were in the sky, dangling in the clouds. Right now all I could see in front of me was a ticket to an already solved case.I pulled her in and hugged her tightly, my cheeks blaring red with excitement. “Thank you Anna, thank you so so much” I muttered.“You don’t know how happy I am right now. I’m so sorry I doubted you” I apologized, releasing her from the hug.“Listen” I took her hands in mine. “I would make sure your family is safe” I said to her, smiling with assurance. She finally let out a smile and her chest seemed to fall in relief.I bid her farewell immediately, and promised to get to the root of this faster, so as to process her release immediately. I got to the car, and waited for Darka to come open the door for me. Immediately he did, I hopped in, and waited till he turned to the driver’s seat.“Guess what?” I said excitedly.Darka looked at me, and smiled. “What?” He asked and I scoffed.“I’m pretty sure I said ‘guess’” I rol

Tears began to stream down her eyes, like she had been desperately practicing for this moment, where she would be at my feet to beg for mercy.I scoffed and adjusted my seat backwards. “Save your tears Anna, I have no need to listen to your apologies” I said.“Like I said, I'm here to ask about something,” I added.“Jasmine in particular” her eyes widened.I stood up from the chair and placed my phone on the table, beside my purse.I began to slowly pace around the room, taking a look at Anna as she knelt down on the floor. AllI could think about was if and how I was going to make her speak up. This was my only chance. My only way to set things right.I sucked in a deep breath and proceeded.“Anna,” I began, staring right at her.“I need you to tell me everything Jasmine has been up to. Anything you know at all.”She immediately shook her head and tried to speak but her voic
ADRIANNA “Jasmine got to him before us” the words rolled out of both our mouths as our eyes widened in realization. Damn it! “So that was the reason she came to see him” I blurted as I stared out the window. Two police officers greeted me as they walked by, and I slightly nodded, then smiled. “Well i’m not surprised” Ethan said, making me turn my head. “Seatbelt” he pointed to me, and I quickly buckled up. He continued, this time his hands firm on the steering wheel. “I’m pretty sure she would do anything to cover her tracks and hide all evidence. Right now we just need to figure out a way to get evidence or at least make her or Raymond speak up” I nodded almost immediately, totally agreeing to what he said. He started the ride, and drove out of the station seconds after. My phone dinged, and I took it off my lap. It was a message from Darka. Back home, the information I asked Roland to check was already waiting for us. I couldn’t even wait to get home, I just hoped there w
