“You know I love you right?” Raymond said to me as he cupped my face with both hands. I felt so happy to hear those words from him, those reassuring words before our wedding. Of course I knew he loved me, we had been together for two years and he had been the sweetest ever since. “Are you sure Ray Ray?” I asked him, even though I already knew the answer to that question. “Definitely” he responded to me with his reassuring smile that seemed to always take my burdens away. I sighed as I turned to walk towards the direction of the mirror that was in my room. I stood before the mirror, admiring myself. I was dressed in a shiny yellow dress, embellished with beautiful rhinestones and nice black heels, that went so well with my dress. I had always hated the idea of wearing a white dress during your own wedding, so I opted to go for a shiny, beautiful yellow dress that was also my favourite colour. The mirror before me, revealed a radiant soul, with a glow that shone from within, as I gazed lovingly at my reflection, lost in the depths of my own eyes. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Raymond walking towards me, with a light grin on his face. “You look really gorgeous tonight babe, I can’t wait to finally make you mine” he said to me, as he placed his right hand on my waist, spinning me around to face him. I giggled at his words, wondering what I did to deserve the greatest man that ever lived. Raymond and I met three years ago, at a small gathering led by my friends. Apparently, he had been invited by one of my friends and he had decided to actually attend. At first, I never paid him any attention, because I rarely liked to make new friends or liked to even talk to people. I had not even noticed he was there, until he walked up to me with two drinks in his hands. “Hey, may I have a seat next to you?” he asked, as he looked at me and also looked at the empty chair beside me. I was so close to letting him know that I was really not interested in talking to him, but I decided against it. “Yea sure” I said, giving him a cold reply. “Maybe if I give him a cold shoulder, he will eventually leave me alone” I thought inwardly. “Here, I got this for you” he said to me as he stretched one of his hands that held a glass of wine. “No, thank you”. I replied immediately, still giving him the cold reply and avoiding every bit of conversation with him. “And why is that?” he went further to ask, as he looked at me with a questioning gaze. I was already getting fed up with the questions, but I decided to keep my cool and not overreact or walk away. “only God knows what you have added to that drink” I said as I rolled my eyes, not even wanting to keep this conversation going, when I heard a laugh. I looked at him with curious eyes, and he was laughing. I was beginning to question what was so funny, that was making him laugh. What was making him laugh? Did I say something funny, that I did not know about?. At that moment, I stood up immediately and attempted to walk away from him, when I felt a hand grab me by my elbow, pulling me back. I gasped at the disrespect of this man. “What the hell is wrong with you?” I asked out of anger as I forcefully snatched my hand from his grasp. I took a step back, my chest heaving with anger. “Don’t you ever touch me again”, I hissed, my voice low and menacing. I could feel my heart racing with adrenaline, my mind racing with the audacity of his actions. “Whoa whoa whoa!, calm down!, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to get you all worked up, my apologies”, he replied almost immediately as he dropped the glass of wine he was holding on the table. “I am really sorry, please forgive my manners___” “Adrianna”, I responded as I immediately realized he was asking me about my name. He smiled almost instantly, after I told him my name. “Alright Adrianna, My name’s Raymond” he said, as he took a seat, urging me to do the same, as he pulled a chair for me. I shot him a glance, rolled my eyes, and sat down in the chair he had offered, folding my arms across my chest. Truth be told, now that I look at him, he didn’t look bad. He had a very well defined chiseled jaw, bright and captivating brown eyes that looked so vibrant and alive. He had golden brown hair that was styled and gelled to perfection and gave him a very good fitting. He had to be around five foot nine, contradicting my little height of just five foot six. “So, are you done staring?” he asked me a question, making me instantly blush and embarrassed. I had totally forgotten I was in my thoughts and was also staring at him. He kept looking at me, grinning from ear to ear as if I was some funny clown star, making a joke. “It’s okay” he said to me, giving me a reassuring smile, after he saw I was becoming more embarrassed and I had started using my hands to cover my face in shame. Weirdly enough, I was actually feeling attracted to him already, his smile seemed to calm my raging soul and made it peaceful, his smile was so reassuring. Raymond’s soft touch brought me back to reality, I had not even noticed that I had zoned out for that long. “Is everything alright baby? You looked so lost” he asked me, with a very worried look. “oh yes I am fine love, I just remembered the first time we met and the little argument we had. It was one hell of an argument” I replied to him as I giggled, remembering the incident that happened over again. He grinned as he cupped my face with his hands, giving me a kiss that seemed to take my breath away “Yea baby, I remember, it was a very eventful moment, now let’s prepare to spend the rest of our lives together” he said as he released me from his grip and walked out of the room. “See you at the wedding venue my future wife, or should I say my wife?” he voiced as he finally walked out of the room, and I could no longer see him. My ears twitched at those particular words, I was sure my ears were red and hot at this very moment. I spun myself around leaping for joy as I anticipated the best moments of my life in a few hours.THREE YEARS LATERI placed a white chrysanthemum on her grave. It’s been three years and I still miss her so much.“Not much has changed since your death, you know Tessy” I murmured, as I plucked out the weeds around her grave.I blew out the few dust I could. “I’m sorry i haven’t come by in a while” i chuckled “it’s been stressful taking care of Liam, who has a wild energy for his age”A hand grazed my shoulders and I looked up, smiling as Ethan gave me a gentle rub. “Ethan’s here too. We’ve all come here to spend time with you”I looked to my right and stretched my hands. “Liam? Come over here, come say hi to your Aunty” i called Liam to come over. He rushed to me, and jumped into my arms. His brows furrowed after I pointed at Theresa’s grave. “Mama? Where is she? I can’t see her, I can only see a huge stone” he said, and I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped my lips.“Oh boy!” I exclaimed as I looked at Ethan for help.Ethan understood immediately and crouched down to talk to
ADRIANNATHREE WEEKS LATER.I stood still in front of the giant door. A bouquet of flowers in my hands. My favourite, Marigold. It was my day. My special day. The day I finally get to call Ethan Greene, my husband. It was a day I had been patiently waiting for for three weeks, or months even. But I didn't have to wait anymore. It was finally here.I tugged on my white wedding gown, that laid beautifully on my body. It was a armless white wedding gown that showed off my glowy shoulders. I stared down at my neck that was embodied with a gold necklace that Ethan had gotten for me five days ago. It was beautiful.I looked at my hands, it had gold bracelets that went so well with my skin tone.My big belly protruded in the dress, but that didn’t matter one bit. It was my big day, a day special to me.Mrs. Thompson, my manager, walked over to me.“You ready?” She whispered as she took my hand under her elbow. She was the one to walk me down the aisle. Oh, how I wished it was her. How I wis
ADRIANNAONE WEEK LATERI let my hair slide down my shoulders, gently combing through, taking my precious time.Today, I had to look good. Because it was an important day to me. The day I could see Jasmine and Raymond being thrown in jail. I put on a smile, nothing was going to spoil my mood. Just the thought of seeing Jasmine and Raymond in jail, brought a tremendous smile to my face. I combed through my hair a few more times and when I was done, I placed the comb on the table, and lightly pressed on my hair.I stood up from the stool and walked to the mirror. I turned left and I turned right, staring and admiring myself.“Today you have to look beautiful. Because today? You watch your enemies being put behind bars for all they have done” I muttered to myself, and smiled.I walked over to my wardrobe, pulling it open. They were a lot of beautiful clothes, but I wanted something extraordinary. I skimmed through, my eyes roaming from clothes to clothes till I eventually found one. It
ADRIANNAThose words made me feel like my legs were in the sky, dangling in the clouds. Right now all I could see in front of me was a ticket to an already solved case.I pulled her in and hugged her tightly, my cheeks blaring red with excitement. “Thank you Anna, thank you so so much” I muttered.“You don’t know how happy I am right now. I’m so sorry I doubted you” I apologized, releasing her from the hug.“Listen” I took her hands in mine. “I would make sure your family is safe” I said to her, smiling with assurance. She finally let out a smile and her chest seemed to fall in relief.I bid her farewell immediately, and promised to get to the root of this faster, so as to process her release immediately. I got to the car, and waited for Darka to come open the door for me. Immediately he did, I hopped in, and waited till he turned to the driver’s seat.“Guess what?” I said excitedly.Darka looked at me, and smiled. “What?” He asked and I scoffed.“I’m pretty sure I said ‘guess’” I rol
ADRIANNAShe stared at me, fear creeping through her eye sockets. She stood up and rushed to kneel before me. Tears began to stream down her eyes, like she had been desperately practicing for this moment, where she would be at my feet to beg for mercy.I scoffed and adjusted my seat backwards. “Save your tears Anna, I have no need to listen to your apologies” I said.“Like I said, I'm here to ask about something,” I added.“Jasmine in particular” her eyes widened.I stood up from the chair and placed my phone on the table, beside my purse.I began to slowly pace around the room, taking a look at Anna as she knelt down on the floor. AllI could think about was if and how I was going to make her speak up. This was my only chance. My only way to set things right.I sucked in a deep breath and proceeded.“Anna,” I began, staring right at her.“I need you to tell me everything Jasmine has been up to. Anything you know at all.”She immediately shook her head and tried to speak but her voic
ADRIANNA “Jasmine got to him before us” the words rolled out of both our mouths as our eyes widened in realization. Damn it! “So that was the reason she came to see him” I blurted as I stared out the window. Two police officers greeted me as they walked by, and I slightly nodded, then smiled. “Well i’m not surprised” Ethan said, making me turn my head. “Seatbelt” he pointed to me, and I quickly buckled up. He continued, this time his hands firm on the steering wheel. “I’m pretty sure she would do anything to cover her tracks and hide all evidence. Right now we just need to figure out a way to get evidence or at least make her or Raymond speak up” I nodded almost immediately, totally agreeing to what he said. He started the ride, and drove out of the station seconds after. My phone dinged, and I took it off my lap. It was a message from Darka. Back home, the information I asked Roland to check was already waiting for us. I couldn’t even wait to get home, I just hoped there w
