Chapter six

Natasha’s Pov

“You are finally awake” Sidney said

I was currently in my room in our family’s house.

“How are you feeling?” I turned and saw my mum

“Mum” I said with teary eyes, it felt like forever since I had last seen her.

“I’m here pumpkin, your dad and brother are outside” she said patting my head.

“What was wrong?” I asked

“You were drugged, they found traces of different drugs, though they were in small amount” Sidney said as my dad and brother with our family doctor walked in.

“How are you feeling?” Mike, my elder brother asked.

“Like jelly” I replied.

“Well the drugs when administered separately do not cause harm to the human body, but when the drugs are combined they can cause serious damage” the doctor said.

“The amount was very small just enough to knock you out, so you don’t need to worry” he added

“Thank you Will” my dad said to the doctor.

“Call me if anything happens” he said as he left.

“How could Liam let this happen” my mum said

“He said he had no idea when I asked him” Mike said 

Sidney scoffed “His family were the ones in charge how could they let something like this happen”

“it’s not just matching up; they are clearly hiding something” she added.

“If I find out they had a hand in this, there will be no union between both families, I never liked them anyway” my mum said

 “You should rest some more, your mum and I will handle this” my dad said

“Okay” I said a they left the room only Sidney stayed back.

“So” she said “How the hell do you now Lucas Wayne?”

“I would like to know too” 

“So you guys have never met before this?” she asked

“No, I was surprised when he helped” I replied

“Well it’s a good thing he helped, Noah called, I told him you were doing okay”

“Thanks, I would give him a call later”

“You should rest and don’t worry too much, your family is here for you” Sidney said as she kissed my head before she left.

I rolled to my side on the bed, replaying the events of last night, did I miss something. I had taken the drink when Lucas came in, there is no way anyone could have predicted that I would take the exact glass. Could all the glass have been drugged. 

Was it really Liam? I don’t think so he had no idea that I was the one behind all that has been happening. I remembered the look on his face, he looked surprised like he had no idea what was happening, but Ashley, that smile on her face, like she knew I was drugged or maybe she thought I was drunk. And Lucas, why did he help me? 

Liam’s Pov

“Did you do that to her” I asked Ashley, she sat on my bed, her legs crossed

“Of course not, I thought she was drunk and wanted to humiliate her a little” she said

“And why the hell would you do that, what good would that have done to us?” I asked her

“What good had she done these past few days, she ignores you, she doesn’t care about the company anymore and the stupid contract she was supposed to help with is still pending” she yelled

“So what good has she done exactly?” 

“Natasha helped build this company, if the investors find out there is conflict among us, they will pull out” 

Ashley scoffed “Look around Liam, everyone is turning on you already, the investors and Natasha, she isn’t the girl we can control again. Can’t you feel it, she seems different” 

I knew what Ashely was talking about, Natasha felt different this days, like she didn’t care about me or the family, when just a month ago she worshipped the ground I walked on.

“And how the hell does she even know Lucas Wayne?” I asked

“I have no idea, I did some digging but apparently that was the first time the two meet”

“Fuck, fuck, fuck” I said running my hand through my hair. Natasha was slipping away from me but I rather die than let that happen.

“Have you found out who leaked the documents?” I asked Ashley

“Nope, my team is still working on it” she replied

“But am sure you have an inkling of who could be behind it” she added

I sighed, I really hoped it wasn’t Natasha.

Meanwhile, Lucas Wayne sat on his couch, a girl, today's casual encounter on her knees in between his legs. He exuded control, arrogance sharpened, dominance in place. This was his way to release the day’s tension, yet even in the heat of the moment his mind drifted to Natasha, why had he helped her. Her information scattered on his bed.
