“Go and look for who is responsible for the bastard you have in your womb . oh you think you will make me change my mind by saying you’re pregnant?oh then you must be joking, better go and remove that thing in your womb,if truly there’s one”Chris shouted at Jane.

“After all I have sacrificed for you Chris ,do you even know who made me look like this?Jane retorted while she raised her hand to slap his face.

However, before her palm landed on his face, Karen had grabbed her hand and pushed her to the ground.

Then, Karen stepped on Jane’s hand mercilessly with her red high heels.

Karen repeatedly jabbed and twisted her heel on Jane’s hand.

"You have willingly donated. your kidney. They didn't force you to do it. Stop bringing that matter up to blackmail him emotionally!"It's your own body that has problems.

Why are you blaming others for it? Many people have donated their kidneys, but they all end up okay, why is yours now different?

Just as Karen finished her sentence, she jabbed her heel even deeper into Jane’s hand.

It ended up piercing through Jane’s flesh as blood began to seep out from the open wound and splatter all over the floor.

With the pain spreading all over her body, Jane felt as if she was about to pass out.

However, the physical pain was not even close to the pain she felt in her heart.

Jane struggled to get free and tried to attack in return.

However, Chris would not allow her to do so.

He raised his foot and stepped on her other hand “Stop messing around, Jane …”

Jane did not expect Chris to help Karen instead of stopping her from bullying Jane.

This couple was terrifyingly evil.

"Oops, Jane , I never thought that you would one day be treated like a piece of rag and being looked upon like this .

As soon as Karen finished speaking, she smiled slyly at Chris."Chris shall we continue?"

"Alright..." Chris smiled in return.

"However, before that, can we throw this woman out? She's an unbearable sight..."Karen added.

Right after Karen ended her sentence, Chris dragged Karen by her ponytail as if she were a doll and threw her out the door.

Then, he closed the door behind him without even taking a last glance at Jane

After crying for a long while, Jane kept on walking, already bleeding, but all she could think about was her unborn child.

Due to the intense pain ,she began to feel intense pain as darkness filled her eyes…..

In the next instant, she fell down on the pile of snow .

Despite struggling to climb out, she barely had any energy left in her body as every part of her body ached.

Soon, more snow began to fall on her and slowly buried her deep under the coldness.

Nobody would have known that the large body covered in snow by the empty road belongs to Jane .

With the pain spreading all over her body,Jane soon lost consciousness.

She knew that she was probably going to die.

It was truly hilarious.

Jane never thought this was how her life would end.

If she could survive, she would make sure they paid with every drop of their blood.

Just a moment before she passed out she saw a glimpse of a man running towards her …

*********

Greg sits in his sleek, modern office, surrounded with a huge library of books. His polished custom desk is adorned with the latest technology, portraying beauty and class.

Greg leans back in his comfy leather chair,he goes through the different proposals submitted by the different departmental head.

The soft glow of the afternoon sunlight casts warm rays across the room, showing the rich artwork adorning the walls.

Just as he was about to call one of the team heads to bring more documents, the door swings open,a fine lady ,well dressed, walked in to meet him.

“Sir ,your grandfather is looking for you sir ,the secretary told the already irritated Greg .

“Hmmmmm ,alright..let him in please.

An old man obviously in his 70s walks in towards Greg.

“Grandfather what are you doing in my office, have told you times without number,to please stop coming to my office.”

“Greg I won’t leave you alone until you get married and give me grandchildren”.

“Ever since your parents died in an accident, you’ve not been able to love someone,I want to carry your children before I die, this old man is not getting any younger “.

“Since you are unwillingly to get a woman yourself,I will transfer all my wealth and give it to the orphanage home, you have just three weeks to get married “.Grandpa said ,already getting to leave.

“Grandpa you can’t do this to me ,how can I possibly get someone to marry in 3weeks”.

“Then get ready to forfeit everything Greg “.grandpa said walking outside “

Greg punched the wall in rage. Grandpa has always been telling him to get married but he just haven’t seen any girl that he likes, they all want him for his money.

“How can I possibly get a woman ,Marry her in three weeks?” Greg keeps on pondering about it

“I honestly need to calm down right now”.

Greg took his car keys and got into one of his car and sped off ,inside the cold winter night .

From afar ,Greg spotted a lady in lying down on the cold winter ground,at first Greg thought maybe the lady wanted to end her own life,so he has no business then .

Driving close,Greg noticed the lady struggling to stand to feet, with blood stains all over her body.

Greg rushed out of his car, hoping to help her,but then Jane already passed out before Greg got to her.

“Young lady please stand up,somebody please help “,Greg yelled on top his voice with almost lifeless Jane on his hands”

Greg managed to carry her to his car and sped off quickly to the hospital “.

“Somebody get the doctor please, someone is about dying “,anxious Greg ran into the hospital with Jane in his hands screaming on top of his voice .

“Where the hell is the doctor and nurses, someone do something “angry Greg fired at the nurses

Nurses and a doctor came running with the stretcher taking the lifeless Jane into the operating room.

“Are the husband of the lady”doctor asked Greg who has been working round the lobby, praying nothing happens to the strange girl he meant .

Taken aback by the question asked by the doctor but no even enough time to think about the consequences of his reply, should go wrong,Greg said hurriedly “am not her husband but am her guardian “.

“You will need to sign the document of consent”.

“We have to operate on her, since has a miscarriage and other severe health conditions,if we don’t operate on her ,am afraid we won’t be able to save her ,am afraid “.

Jane hadn’t slept much the night before. Mr. Whitmore’s words played like an endless loop in her mind, each one a reminder of the impossible choice he had set before her. She had tossed and turned, her chest tight with dread. By morning, her eyes felt heavy, and she expected another cold, distant day with Greg where she could at least keep her walls intact. But instead, she was met with the smell of fresh coffee and warm butter.“Good morning, beautiful,” Greg’s voice came, deep and smooth, as she stepped into the kitchen. He was standing by the counter, sleeves rolled up, setting down plates. “I made you breakfast.”Jane blinked, taken aback. She tried to summon her usual composure, but the gesture caught her off guard. “Thank you so much, Greg.”“Hey, don’t mention it,” he said lightly, though there was a softness in his tone she wasn’t used to. His eyes studied her face. “But… I noticed you weren’t okay last night. You looked troubled. Hope everything is fine, huh? You can tell me

  • Betrayed love and regret    Just like we were before

Over the table at a quiet bistro, Xander ordered something light and non pretentious; June declined wine and took water, her hands steady though her heart thudded hard beneath her ribs. They spoke cautiously at first patchwork conversation about nothing and everything: Valerie’s favorite cartoons, the absurdities of hospital food, the tiny miracle of a lemon tart that could brighten the gloomiest day. Laughter came, not easy at first, but honest, and the sound felt like a small, illicit blessing.Xander watched June with a hunger that was both humble and aching. He wanted this dinner to be remembered, not as a last supper of sorts, but as proof that tenderness could exist even after betrayal. He kept the bouquet’s stems in water at his feet, the petals brushing against his shoe, a simple, living reminder of what he was fighting for.June watched him too her gaze softer than it had been in months, threaded with worry she could not mask. Sometimes she caught him staring, and in those

The long, winding driveway leading to the Whitmore estate felt colder than usual that evening, though the sky remained clear. Jane’s fingers were tense on the steering wheel, her heart pulsing with questions. The message had been simple and discreet: “Come alone. Do not tell Greg. – G.W.”She had obeyed without knowing why. Now, standing in front of the towering oak doors, she felt an odd chill wash over her, as though she was about to enter something far deeper than just a conversation. The butler led her through the grand halls in silence, stopping before the study. “He’s waiting for you inside.”She pushed the door open. The room was dark, save for the faint orange glow of a fireplace flickering low in the corner. A single lamp illuminated the large desk near the window, and behind it, seated like a king on his throne, was Gregory Whitmore Sr., the patriarch of the Whitmore legacy.A glass of whiskey sat untouched beside him, and a thin line of smoke curled from the cigarette betwe

The silence in the penthouse had stretched for days. Jane moved through the luxurious space like a ghost, feeling its vastness echo the new emptiness growing between her and Greg. Since their last argument, he'd kept his distance — polite, civil, but colder than she had ever seen him. He was no longer the confident, smooth-talking man who teased her at dinner parties and watched her when he thought she wouldn’t notice. He was now... silent. Distant. And she hated it.The chill wasn’t just in the room — it was under her skin.Jane stood at the edge of the study doorway that evening, watching Greg as he leaned over a set of financial documents. His sleeves were rolled up, his hair slightly disheveled, a glass of untouched scotch sitting beside him. He hadn’t noticed her yet, too buried in whatever business emergency his grandfather had stirred up this time. She cleared her throat softly. “Greg.”He looked up. His expression shifted when he saw her, a flash of something — surprise, maybe

The fireplace crackled quietly in the background as Greg paced across the living room of the penthouse, the dim golden lights casting long shadows on the polished wood floors. His mind had been at war for days, trying to convince himself it was too soon… or too absurd… or too much. But he couldn’t avoid it anymore. He had to talk to Jane. She was curled up on the oversized sofa, wearing a soft ivory robe, her legs tucked under her as she flipped absentmindedly through a fashion magazine. Her golden hair cascaded over her shoulder in loose waves, and there was something about the domestic calmness of the scene that made Greg hesitate. She looked peaceful. Untouched by the chaos that brewed in his chest. But the words burned on his tongue."Jane," he said finally. She looked up, eyes curious. “Hmm?”“We need to talk.”Her body stiffened slightly, a telltale sign she’d learned not to show fear unless it was necessary. She set the magazine down and straightened. “Alright… talk.”Greg walk

  • Betrayed love and regret    The request

The antique grandfather clock ticked heavily in the quiet of the study, its steady rhythm matching the tension thickening in the air.Greg sat stiffly across from his grandfather, the formidable Theodore Hamilton, the patriarch of the Hamilton empire. The elder man was a picture of aged nobility silver hair immaculately combed back, piercing gray eyes that didn’t miss a thing, and a cane resting beside his chair more for intimidation than support. The study was Greg’s least favorite room in the estate all mahogany shelves, dusty oil paintings, and the lingering scent of old money and judgment.Theodore set down his brandy glass with a sharp clink and looked directly at his grandson.“I want a great-grandchild, Gregory.”Greg blinked, half certain he’d misheard. “I’m sorry… what?”Theodore leaned forward slightly. “You’re married now. Publicly, legally, and very convincingly. You’ve given me a charming daughter-in-law, and the press believes you’re on the path to stability. Good. But I
